I'm ready to admit that I love sweets, especially chocolate and that I'm known to shell out considerable money on "fancy" chocolate e.t.c, but every girl has her limit.
I specifically went here to get some fudge one day, and was shocked at the price; nearly four euro a bag for a small handful of fudge. The chocolate seemed to be a bit more fairly priced; while still hovering around four euro, you were buying a large slab of seriously nice chocolate. There was some nice sweets which cost quite a lot less, but 80% of the shop was a little too expensive for my purse.
Not a fan either of the dark interior, which while fashioned after the shops of ye olde, really makes me feel like I'm back in Dickensian London, hovering near sweets which I can never afford. Shop assistant was lovely though, and well capable of handling large amounts of tourists who seem to wash into the shop like waves.
The fact that it's just down from Grafton Street might be the reason why it has "tourist prices", but still I don't know how you can justify nearly four euro for a small amount of fudge. read more
