One hundred percent, you should visit The Odd Shop to pet the resident cat. He's (she's?) a kitty…read morewho's posted up in the shop most days, according to the friendly woman behind the counter. I didn't catch the cat's name when I was there, but Vintage Shop Kitty is super friendly and seemed to be receptive to pets. Besides cats, this place also has some really cool clothes -- all of them old, and all of them carefully curated and thoughtfully chosen. I can tell when a vintage clothing store has done its due diligence when I flip through the racks and I want to buy more than a few things. I was THIS close to buying a Western pearl snap shirt, but really: how many pearl snap shirts does a girl need? Regretfully, I put the shirt back on the rack. Hopefully, some other savvy person snapped it up. The Odd Shop has a lot of clothing, but it has just as much vintage toys, records, ephemera and trinkets for sale. Walking into the store is like walking into your (or probably my) childhood, because there are so many things from the 1980s and 90s for sale. So many Smurfs dolls! Mickey Mouse roller skates! Easy-Bake Ovens! It's a blast from the past here.

The store is packed with nostalgia! From clothing and toys to records and books, you'll be…read moreintrigued to stand and stare at the shelves. At first I was confused on the items being for sale versus the store's personal collection but began to notice price tags on many items. It's a small space to share with shoppers and the worker so no issue to be taken care of if you have questions on an item. Many items are in "as is" condition, or maybe better described as well loved. If you're a collector, this might be a spot for you. I found it a bit crowded and overwhelming so a quick glance through was enough. (I would not recommend bringing small kids to this shop) Easy to find street parking. Also, if you love cats, there are two here to greet you.

LOVED this dude's shop. Very well laid out, huge/great selection of items. Found stuff I wasn't…read moreeven looking for when I went in to browse. He was playing some jazz that made shopping super chill- never felt pressured or rushed. Literally just found this down the road from our AirBnb and was happy I stopped in. I hate to say this, but his pricing was super low on some of the stuff I grabbed- was really surprised he wasn't charging more but I appreciate what he is doing there. I almost paid him more $ just out of guilt...ha. Hoping to stop back in in the future when I pass through Louisville again.

I'll be honest, this place definitely surprised me!! Lo and behold, this shop came up in my search for record stores!! I was a little skeptical just because I'd never heard of this store before, but they didn't disappoint !! We were greeted immediately by a really nice man... I didn't get his name, but he was incredibly personable and friendly!! When I first looked around I was scared they were just a vinyl store (i'm more of a CD collector because they're more compact + cheaper) until I noticed their cd wall which had an array of things!! From well known artists like Ozzy, Beatles, Alice In Chains, to more local artists like My Morning Jacket, they had it all!! They even had a cassette section which was my holy grail because I'm also a BIG cassette person too!! They had both a mix of old and new ones... even snatched up the Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan on cassette (which they also had on 7" vinyls and regular sized). Aside from records and CDs, they also had a nice selection of comic books in the back, as well as stickers, t-shirts, buttons, and show posters from concerts/events that had happened in Louisville!! This is definitely coming one of our main record shops to visit when we need our cd kick!! Absolutely love the vibes and selection!!
