Had a huge assortment of pumpkins to choose from and reasonably priced given the time of year. Really well organized and they help you if you need assistance with those big heavy vegetables. We went the Sunday afternoon before Halloween, and predictably, the Farmers Market was packed (the parking lot was full, so we had to park at the Grove, which is its own thing). We figured this might be the case but were willing to deal with the crowd because surely, the pumpkin patch at the Farmers Market must be fun and festive, right? Apparently, not at all. I don't know if this was a pandemic downgrade, as this Mr. Jack O'Lantern's has pretty positive Yelp reviews, but what we found was a sad tent pitched over asphalt, half-heartedly strewn with hay and a few odd pallets of pumpkins. There were, by my estimation, about the same number of pumpkins you might find at your average Trader Joe's. There were a couple of places where you could place your child for a photo, but they weren't particularly good. One of them just had a plasticky backdrop with the Mr. Jack O'Lantern logo printed all over it. This was such a disappointment that despite caring very little about pumpkin patches until that morning, I became mildly obsessed with the idea of taking him to a good one, and built my following weekend around a field trip to Shawn's Pumpkin Patch in Palms (farther away, but worth the effort). I like the Farmers Market and I'm sure my kid will spend plenty of time there throughout his childhood, but never again for the pumpkin patch.

I ended up getting a super cute little orange one for decor, but they have a huge variety and are pretty cheap when compared to going to a grocery store or something. Staff was very nice and knowledgable, especially the girl doing admission who gave a great run down of the patch and what was available (I think her name was Cristal?) Also had a lot of cute photo op spots, and plenty of activities (mainly for kids, but teens/young adults can def enjoy them also). The petting zoo was really sweet, loved the baby pig. Activities cost tokens but honestly can still spend a good bit of time here for a pretty low price. Highly recommend!

Just last weekend we attended an outdoor festival where they set up a makeshift diaper changing area in a tent with some folding tables. Just this small consideration would really improve the experience for families who are shelling out dollars for every single activity at the farm. We had to change my son in the backseat of our car. The real kicker for me was our experience at the food stand. The way the menu was written was very misleading, and my husband and I misunderstood the options for the spud nuggets, thinking there was a plain version and a fully loaded version. Turns out there was only a fully loaded version covered in cheese, which I cannot eat. When I attempted to speak to the man working there, he was very rude to me, not apologetic at all, just bluntly saying "there's one price" and when I asked if we could just get a refund for the item, he rudely said "no, we already made it." There was no offer of a different item or a modification. Also, two friends we were with both had to stop drinking the overpriced "fresh-squeezed" lemonade after feeling the beginnings of an allergic reaction, so who knows what ingredients are in there. While we were in line for the tractor ride, I also witnessed the woman selling tickets YELL at two children who were playing with the ropes cordoning off the line. Sure, their behavior was not appropriate, but she was very aggressive. If they want to charge way too much for everything, a little kindness would go far. We will find a different pumpkin patch next year.

The petting zoo was probably the most memorable part for us. The animals were very eager and came right up to us, which honestly felt a little intimidating at first, especially for my younger daughter. The staff member inside was very attentive and worked hard to keep the animals under control and help the kids feel comfortable. No accountability and zero respect for customers. They have ONE worker with 8 jumpers. No one checking for safety of the families or children. Waste of money. What a disgrace of a pumpkin patch. I then asked for a copy of my waiver we signed and Sandra refused to provide that to me, which I SIGNED and should be allowed a copy. so I had to grab a blank unsigned waiver.
