    Banana Royal

Great experience! Got in pretty late so it wasn't too busy. I try not to take great customer service for granted. Rogelio took awesome care of us with solid recommendations and proactive, friendly service. We got a banana royal and small shake. So many flavors I wanted to try but they can't do samples due to Covid so you just have to pick. Went with strawberry cheesecake per recommendation and it did not disappoint. Cookies n cream was good. All the ice cream is blue bell so you can't really go wrong. It's a small spot so depending on your group size you might want to take your goods to the Riverwalk (in other words, great location too).

This place leaves much to be desired. I would not recommend. With the amount of icecream places on the river walk, pass this one by and try another. The inside is dirty and old. They weigh it out to make sure you aren't getting any extra. The spoons are so cheap and flimsy that they can't even scope the hard icecream. So terrible.

What better way to stay cool and enjoying the view in San Antonio than eating ice cream along the Riverwalk. We were walking along the Riverwalk and saw the sign above us for Mr Ice Cream. They serve Blue Bell ice cream which is local to Texas located in Brenham. There are plenty of flavors to choose from. You can order them in a cup or come or waffle cones. They also have different toppings like hot fudge. Shop is well lighted and was ok. There is a bar and some tables inside. There was a line of people waiting to be served when we came in. There were 2 scoopers that night so line went quickly. We ordered 2 scoops in a cup... sea salt caramel and Dutch chocolate. They were yummy! even though it may be an unlikely combo. After grabbing our order went out the back where there are some table and chairs where you can enjoy your ice cream while people watching walking along the Riverwalk. This is one of our favorite stops in San Antonio.

Great ice cream, they don't have samples so I went with the person who worked there's recommendation. I had the salted caramel, my buddy had the banana pudding. Both taste great, it was about $9.50 for each of us to have 1 scoop.

After a no less exciting than expected visit to the Alamo, but a very nice dinner at a restaurant on the Riverwalk, we opted for Mr. Ice Cream in lieu of sampling that restaurant's dessert menu. This place was reminiscent of an old-time ice cream shop; a case for hand scooped ice cream served on a cone or in a cup, some slushy creations, toppings, and specialty items like sundae's. The kids each got their usual favorite; my youngest enjoys the peanut butter and chocolate, my daughter always gets some weird pink fruity thing that takes the enamel off your teeth, and my wife and I enjoyed our favorites to. Nice kids behind the counter, with a corny but not unpleasant 50s vibe to the whole joint. When we arrived, there was no line, but we must've timed it perfectly, because as they were finishing our scoops, a whole bunch of people showed up and the line started sneaking out towards the door. We had a seat inside at one of the tables with high stools, a nice respite from the heat and humidity outside.

Delightful small ice cream shop, serving blue bell ice cream. Located above the River Walk, look for the sign pointing up the steps or enter from the street level. Staffed by a solo ice cream scooper, "yes, there's a Mrs Ice cream, she's home with Mr Ice Cream," this is a true local small business. There's seating at the counter and tables, and a generous selection of ice cream flavors from which to select.

Conveniently located by the Riverwalk San Antonio. It is a Small ice cream shop without flashy frontage. And most of the time only one server is there, but the service efficiency was not reduced. And as for ice cream , you can never go wrong with Blue Bell They even have some of the Hispanic flared fruity items, we ordered a watermelon killer, which was delicious. There is garage parking right across street very convenient.

they were out of a lot of flavors (everything is blue bell) nothing special or unique... they had no yogurt at all!!! Multiple signs claiming they had yogurt! Even the employee told me to contact their boss as they haven't had any for a long time and to take the signs down!

Small simple nothing fancy but tasty ice cream shop. Service was great; quick and easy! Ice cream was, too, be expected. The chocolate covered cone was yummy.

Ice cream 37 flavors no samples

37 flavors 0 samples they don't do samples. First ice cream place I have been to that does not do samples. Got two flavors the coconut was good did not care for the coffee, would have tried something else but no samples. Workers just on their phones not best service or very professional.

The milkshakes were really good. It was rich with chocolate. The guy working there did some flips with the cup and it was entertaining.

This shop sells fudge, truffles, candied apples, and - what I came for - ice cream! They had a lot of ice cream flavors to choose from, a least a couple dozen. The smiling young woman working behind the ice cream counter offered to give tastes, but I had already figured out which flavors I wanted. I chose two scoops in a cup, one of Cappucino Chip and the other Turtle Cheesecake. They have several tables to sit at, some along a hallway and more in a back room. I took a seat and was in awe of the huge scoops given. The Cappuccino Chip had a mild flavor (I prefer it stronger) but a fair number of tiny chocolate chips. The Turtle Cheesecake had an excellent cheesecake flavor with swirls of caramel, praline pecans, and caramel-filled mini turtles. I'm usually not fond of nuts in my ice cream but I actually enjoyed the pralines. In my humble opinion, there were too few turtles. But I still loved it. If you're in the mood for a cold, creamy treat while visiting the Alamo, you'll find this to be the perfect place to visit.

My vote for best ice cream in San Antonio? Lick Honest Ice Cream!…read more This location is inconspicuously tucked away in the Hemisfair District, in a tiny, cute building on a corner. There is no seating inside but a couple of tables sit outside. I think I counted 16 unique flavors when I visited. The cordial woman doing the scooping kindly offered tastes but my ice cream radar had already zeroed in on my choices. I chose chocolate orange and caramel salt lick. In a cup. I took a seat outside and was in heaven. Both scoops were so creamy and had bold flavor. The caramel salt lick perfectly describes it - salty caramel flavor. Have you ever had those chocolate oranges that seem to appear on store shelves around Christmas time? That's exactly how the chocolate orange ice cream tastes. But better. They have a couple of locations around San Antonio and I urge you to find one; you'll love their ice cream.

Not only that, but the food operators were not small businesses but operated by the organization or company running the festival. Nothing unique about them or their offerings imho. I found this cute little creamery on Yelp while I was stuck in a crowd of people trying to navigate down the plaza. It wasn't awfully busy & I was able to pop in to sample a few flavors & walk out with a 3 scoop cup in under 5 mins. I'm trying to remember what the flavor I chose was specifically, but I want to say it was goat cheese & honey? It was fantastic whatever it was & it hit the spot on a particularly warm evening. The staff were very friendly & working hard on probably one of the busiest nights of the year. The ice cream was great & consistency between homemade ice cream & frozen custard. A little sticky but still with that yummy grainy texture of homemade & you can tell they are using good ingredients too.
