We came to Richard to have a dresser drawer completely remade (other than the face of the drawer). We bought the dresser for a steal from Haverty's clearance center (see my separate review of their facility) because one of the drawers was busted up. Someone had managed to tear apart the dovetail joinery, which, if you know anything about woodworking, is kind of insane. Richard was more than up to the task! We left the old drawer with him for about 2 weeks so that he could work his magic, and we were not disappointed. The new drawer is beautiful! It also fits into the drawer slot like a glove, perfectly matching the rest of the dresser. Richard does love to chat and definitely works on his own timetable, but real craftsmanship takes time and patience is a virtue. Better it be done right, than done quick. Overall, we are thrilled with the work. Be aware that he only accepts cash or Zelle. Since custom carpentry can get pricey, you'll need to be prepared to pay with one of those methods.

However, the living room looks horrible! The baseboards aren't evenly cut - adjoining pieces are too high/low and some stick out further than others. Also, in some instances, the wood starts tight to walls then spread out as it goes along. In addition, Erick cut half-moon holes in two of the baseboards to adjust for transitions. When I noticed and verbalized that I was not happy with this and needed a straight line across the baseboards, Eric said it had to be done this way. I did not know any better until learning later that transitions are placed against baseboards and not underneath. I was the only one home at the time the work was being done. Upon discussing my dissatisfaction with Erick, he refused to make this right without being paid the same fee as the original for returning. I stated a willingness to purchase new wood and requested that Erick correct his work; and he maintained refusal unless being compensated fully. We're disappointed by the improper installation and sloppy work; and Erick taking advantage of me (middle-aged female). We now have to find another individual/company to redo the work, which means more money and time. What a nightmare!!!
