First impressions are lasting impressions and when someone postpones an appointment twice, it indicates to me that the job probably would be plagued by delays. He was pleasant over the phone and he communicated that he would have to change the original appointment and that he would have to postpone the last one that we agreed upon. I really wanted to give Mike a good review because he is a nice person. But when it came to the actual project, he took entirely too long to complete the job, changed the price midway through and did a poor job on the actual gate because he cut my lattice where it could not go back up anymore. I still wanted to give him a chance and wanted him to work on another project which was originally discussed as well. We agreed on a day and he never showed up....i finally texted that evening like hey what happened he said to call him which I did....he says I had a couple of drinks and cant drive....which I respect so i said no problem come by tomorrow. He says you're a good friend thank you for understanding. I was like sure no worries....he was supposed to come the next day but texts me instead and asks a very personal question.....to which I was like wowwww this is wayyyy left field. He gets angry and goes hire a professional....i said im glad you understand thats what we will do. He then continues to harass me the rest of the day by texting me over and over and over again until I finally blocked him. I'm a very strong woman in general but this was creepy and scary. All I'm saying is ladies the guy is nice just be careful with this one. I wish i read the reviews before I hired him as well....this is just to help other women out there. So I posted the above review and this guy began to harass me again today. I have never experienced anything like it.....im posting this only so everyone is aware prior to hiring someone so psychotic....he literally threatened me with court fees to change my review on yelp.....like wow....how about just be professional and do a good job....customers don't mind writing a raving review if they were happy! Would not recommend this handyman. Hs says one thing and doesn't deliver. I made it very clear what I wanted and he didn't listen to my wants then claims details were not explained to him. When Hs doesn't know how to do a job he will delay your project. He brags about how he ripped customers off because he feels they can't get anyone else for the job/project. This guy is all talk n no action. He will charge by the hour then take his time on the job to charge the customer more money. He filed a worker's compensation claim at his day job Rite Aid n says he can't work due to pain n is fraudulently still working. Be careful of this so called handyman. My first review was positive BUT..... he Scheduled me to install wiring for a ceiling fan and install the fan. He got a hold of me an hour late on Monday , The day of the install, and said he couldn't do the job until the weekend because of problems that all of a sudden came up with my job. I was unavailable. Everything he had quoted me he backed out on and tried to blame me. At first, he told me installing my new dining room light And ceiling fan would take an hour. It took over three hours to do just the dining room light. Told me Installing the ceiling fan would take approximately three hours then all of a sudden, the day of the install, he said he couldn't do the job without a helper and that the job was going to take two days. Also said it was too hot and wanted to come at five in the morning. He knew what the temperature was when he quoted the job but made no mention about any problems being in the attic. Now, it's 111° outside and I have no ceiling fan because he took it down from the original location. Yes, I was pissed off at all the excuses he was making and I was VERY frustrated that he wasn't going to be here anytime soon and I had a few choice words for his BS. We rescheduled anyway to get the job done. He then called me right back and said he was afraid for his safety because of the words I was using. He's a big guy, I'm a small woman. Mike came to my house to replace outdoor lights and an external door. He did a great job with the lights. The door was more challenging, but he stuck with it and came back at least three different times to complete the job. He also took a look at my cabinets and although he was not able to adjust them with the existing hardware, he tried the new hardware that I bought and when we learned that was the wrong hardware, he made another suggestion that I was able to do on my own. Our closet collapsed in the wee morning hours. We searched on Yelp for someone to help us. I went off of reviews. First call I made it went to a voice mail, no call back. Second call was to Mike. He picked up, he came out. He wore a mask. He measured and said he would get back to us. He did later that same day. He was able to come out the next day and worked so hard and did an amazing job.
