The DJ was great - played requests all night long, and the dance floor was always packed. Right at the top was another bar/dance area with a small live jazz/blues combo playing. There's something for everyone. The staff were unobtrustive but helpful. The prices are as you'd expect, but nothing too exhorbitant. And right outside it only took a minute to catch a taxi. Definately a great night out, wonderful atmosphere and reccomended very nighly.

The Bristol uni hordes manage to fill up the three rooms and garden out the back, creating a proper buzz on a Friday night. They also make a long queue, which combined with the five pounds asked for some nights makes this place slightly less attractive that it otherwise would be. That the only criticism I can think of is because this place is popular should tell you that you won't be disappointed by a night out at Bunker.

Situated near Clifton Triangle and Park Street, The Bunker nightclub is open 6 nights a week with drinks starting from £1, popular DJ's, 3 rooms and a very large smoking garden. The queuing can be quite ridiculous so make sure you do not get there to late. Music ranges from chart music to dance and drum and bass with a raised seating area and large dance floor. The toilets are fairly small so expect a queue. On one particular night, they had let in far too many people on the venues legal capacity resulting in a 'power cut', which then the venue turned very much into 'a war bunker' with emergency lighting and scared people. Magically all the staff swiftly disappeared and there was literally no-one to tell us what was happening. Everyone started to pile towards the stairs to leave and no joke I was almost crushed to death and £5 out of pocket from the entrance fee. I was not happy!

The music is primarily metal, with a good helping of old school rock to boot. It doesn't have quite the same atmosphere because it's no longer in a church! - but the crowd help to make up for that. Let's hope it can move to the Coal Exchange when it re-opens. Drink prices are okay, they seem a little higher now that they have moved from The Point to The Venue. But the central location does mean that you can head there after going to other places in town first. And chippy lane is just around the corner

They do have a 'cocktail bar' which serves up sugar syrup and vodka concoctions - definately not cocktails - but decent enough for the bargain prices (£1 - £3). Truly a destination location, Thursdays is a little remote in it's whereabouts, but all of local cab companies know it. Thursdays is definitely has a different, more mature clientele than any other bar or club in the postcode, and it is more sombre by its nature and less carefree than other places around. There never seems to be that happy-go-lucky good fun vibe that exists in other clubs. Drinks here are standard Diagio fare and served at standard prices that are not really above nor below anything else around. I do not consider Thursdays as my first choice destination in this area but nonetheless I am sure that myself and many other people will end up here for a night of drinks and dancing.
