This is just about my favorite place in Lawton. Where else can you find legit Hawaiian shaved ice…read morein any city nearby, or state for that matter.
The first time I tried this place the shaved ice quality was just decent with a couple hard chunks here and there. The second time the ice was perfect, completely crushed and fine everywhere. It seems like the luck of the draw with that.
The flavors are hit or miss. I've tried the coconut, strawberry, passion fruit, and pina colada, and the "nemo" (orange and white cake). The coconut, white cake, and pina colada were very good and highly reminiscent of the real flavors. The strawberry and orange were average and it was a little difficult picking up the strawberry flavoring. The passion fruit did not have that essence of passion fruit at all. They have a ton of flavors though, so I'm sure you would be able to find some great flavors.
You can also get additions to your shaved ice such as cream or ice cream. I'd definitely get at least one of those depending on your mood for how rich you'd like your shaved ice to be. The ice cream is vanilla and provides a different dimension.
The portions are huge and the small is already large.
This place is literally hidden behind Mattress Studio on Cache Rd right next to Rib Crib and near Walmart.
The hours have been erratic as they've shut down some days on account of the poor weather. You can check on their facebook page to see if they are closed on days where the weather isn't looking too great. During this spring season, they are open monday through friday 3-8pm and saturday 12-8pm.
