When you've been waking up at crack a$$ of dawn waiting for the "taho guy" in your hood to holler out "TAHOOOOO TAHOoOoo!" yet you're in no luck, then Mr. Bean will do!
Note that I'm from California & I was on a hunt for some legit street food (being alert of cleanliness). I was still jetlagged so I would wake up as early as 5am asking my family to keep an eye out for the "taho guy." I was also on a hunt for the flavored type of taho. This place has it all!
Unfortunately, I came to ATC twice & my 2nd time around I opted for Mr. Bean since "taho guy" in the hood never came out for this American girl. Came at the last hour before they closed & everything was sold out. All they had were their classic taho so why not try the original taste first before trying out another flavor? They offered for it to be hot or cold. Wait... whaaaat?! I had no idea they serve it both hot or cold! Since it was my first time, my niece recommended it to be warm. 45 pesos, sure why not! That's less that $1.
Verdict: GOOD!! I wasn't expecting it to look all fancy, but my description of the way it looks is tapioca balls mixed in with white gelatin which is basically soft tofu. Sweet snack!
Next time I come back to the Philippines I'm still going to wait for the "taho guy" outside the hood! Ya gotta experience how they sell it on the streets. Then I'll ask for the flavored kind. Have you considered selling Ube Taho, Mr. Bean? I've seen that somewhere. I'm a satisfied customer. Thanks, Mr. Bean! read more
