I am writing to file a formal complaint about my recent experience in the emergency room at your…read morefacility. I visited while in severe pain and in need of urgent medical attention. Instead of receiving professional care, I witnessed behavior from several employees that I found extremely inappropriate and disturbing. While many patients were waiting in pain, staff members were laughing loudly, talking among themselves, and using unprofessional and offensive language. I clearly heard words such as profanity being used in a public patient area. This created an environment that felt disrespectful and chaotic, especially for people experiencing medical emergencies. When I asked the staff to be quieter because of the situation and my condition, I was told to leave. One employee also spoke to me using inappropriate language. Being treated this way while seeking emergency medical care was humiliating and unacceptable. As a San Mateo County resident and taxpayer, I expect public healthcare facilities to maintain professionalism, compassion, and respect toward patients. What I experienced did not meet those standards. I am requesting that this incident be reviewed and that appropriate action be taken to ensure other patients are treated with dignity in the future. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Sincerely

If you want to move to San Mateo County for work and have nothing but Medi-Cal do not opt for a…read moremedical plan that includes this hospital. Like Valley Medical in Santa Clara County this hospital has very terrible wait times. If you are here via ambulance, it's a lot of worse to get an ER bed here. You will be stuck in the halls for a very long time. If you are non-resident please avoid this place is very scary. This place is not good for ER services but is only good if you are a SamTrans bus driver or any other public transport driver who is very hungry and needs food to eat. They have some good things in the cafeteria for people to eat. This is before 2020 when there is no triaging involved. The nurses here are very rude and stony, they seemed to be something out of GTA 5. If you are not a resident of SM county, please be safe and avoid this place.

I came to ER on a Monday evening for blunt force trauma to the eye. I was in excruciating pain…read morebecause the top layer of my eyeball was scraped off in an accident. I couldn't open my eye, and when I did, my vision was blurred, and the eye wouldn't stop tearing up. There wasn't a line to check in and I was triaged within 10 minutes. After waiting another 20 minutes or so in the main lobby, I was called to the back. Great, I thought, reasonable wait time. I go back there, and just sat in another waiting area for about an hour. The nurse had initially asked if I wanted an ice pack, I said yes, then she disappeared and never came back with the ice pack. There was a lady that was called in at the same time as me who saw the doctor and left within 30 minutes. She spoke to the doctor in the wide-open waiting area so everyone could hear that she had a urinary tract infection. Was that really more urgent than my eye trauma? I asked the nurse how much longer I'd have to wait, and she curtly said she didn't know. After waiting an hour sitting in that uncomfortable chair, I finally left. Never saw the doctor. Service was awful, nurses are downright rude. The lady with the UTI I mentioned above? Well, the nurse told her to take ibuprofen overnight to ease the pain. She clearly did not know what ibuprofen was since English wasn't her first language. The nurse could've simply told her that ibuprofen was the brand name Advil. Instead, the nurse just repeated the word, "ibuprofen" and repeated that it's a common household medicine. It was as if the nurse wanted to be purposefully vague, which seemed condescending and just uncaring. Waiting room was a mess. Very few chairs, got very crowded. sticky juice spilled on the floor, and there were a couple of crazies (or high as a kite) just laughing hysterically while they were being questioned by the police. Somebody else came complaining that she's dizzy because she hasn't eaten all day. They gave her a sandwich and a juice and she left. Great use of ER resources. This place is a total shitshow. Uncaring nurses. I got zero service. It was a complete waste of my time to come here.

Dr Chapman was the best doctor you could ask for and was incredibly attentive to my eczema, asthma, and various allergies. I always felt safe and cared for as a child in this office, and I really loved all the paintings and decor in the different rooms. The giraffe, train tracks, hanging monkeys, and tree painting will always be etched upon my mind! All of those fun touches really make it so much more comfortable when you're a kid. And of course I absolutely loved the reef tank in the waiting room. Here or there you might deal with a bitter receptionist but you'll find that everywhere. My mother really loved Dr. Chapman and this office as a whole and again, I couldn't have had a better childhood doctor. They were always on it and we never ran into any issues with incorrect or late prescriptions, inaccurate advice, etc. For the sake of transparency, I haven't been a patient here for five years so I can't speak to how the office is currently, but they deserve the five stars from a previous patient who is a happy and healthy adult. I will always be grateful for Dr. Chapman and ABC pediatrics.

Exceptional Orthopedic & Hand Surgeon - Dr. William Wang is Simply the Best!…read more I've unfortunately know Dr. Wang all too well because both of my sons have needed his surgical expertise after separate dirt-bike accidents--and I couldn't be more grateful that he was the surgeon assigned to them. Last year, my older son suffered a badly broken collarbone. Dr. Wang performed the surgery and the outcome has been perfect: perfect healing, full range of motion returned, and barely a visible scar. His bedside manner with a nervous teenage boy (and a worried mom) was calm, kind, and reassuring every step of the way. This past weekend my younger son had a serious hand injury requiring immediate surgery. Once again Dr. Wang took the case, and his reputation as one of the top hand surgeons in the area is completely deserved. He explained everything clearly, answered all of our questions without rushing, and put my son at ease before wheeling him into the OR. We are only a few days post-op, but the early results are remarkable and we have total confidence in his continued recovery under Dr. Wang's care. Dr. Wang and his entire team at Kaiser Redwood City are professional, compassionate, and extraordinarily skilled. In the middle of two scary situations for our family, he turned what could have been overwhelming experiences into ones where we always felt we were in the very best hands--literally. We feel incredibly fortunate to have Dr. William Wang as our orthopedic and hand surgeon. I recommend him without the slightest hesitation to anyone needing orthopedic care, especially complex hand or upper-extremity injuries. Thank you, Dr. Wang--you've now fixed two of my boys and given this mom tremendous peace of mind. Highly, highly recommend.
