Making a close to perfect burger requires two major skills: humility and method. Kristin Frederick…read more(pictured above), the chef behind "Le Camion Qui Fume" (The Smoking Truck), is gifted with both. Humility is essential when it comes to burgers because no matter how talented a chef you are, you have to recognize that the best burger can only be a classic burger. It is thus essential to feature it in your menu no matter how fancy, smart or inventive you think you are. I must say I was impressed to see that Kristin's Classic Burger does not stray away from this principle. Her classic Burger recipe may look simple to the untrained eye: tomato, onion, lettuce, pickles, meat, cheddar and mayo. Actually, though the ingredients and the recipe seem merely self-evident, they're not! Balancing everything inside a bun and making it juicy & hot but fresh is an act of pure devotion to the Burger cause which requires the utmost method. My visit to Le Camion Qui Fume was simply great. I had a great classic burger for which my only comment would be that the bun was a bit too thick. I, for one, am totally for mayo in a classic burger as opposed to what Ketchup aficionados would tell you. So once again Kudos to Le Camion Qui Fume for making it possible for my taste buds to experience the deliciousness of Kristin's burgers! Don't forget to follow this food truck on Twitter @LeCamionQuiFume or Facebook for updates regarding their location or check their website. Be there early (30 mins before opening time), if you want to avoid a huge line and a very long wait! Burger Score: 9/10 And remember this famous quote: "We hold these truths to be self-evident that NOT all hamburgers are created equal".

And then, there's the friendly people, always smiling and making you more of a fan of Cantine. I've eaten veggie burgers across Paris, and this place figures in the top three. It's a must visit, and the Cantine at Marche St Honoré has become more than a weekly affair. To sum up, the food and the people remind you of your close friends, and puts you in a comfort zone.

Oh man I was sure I was going to be the first person to review this…read more Anyways, I went to Cantine California at Marche Raspail today, after LITERALLY dreaming about getting my hands one of their burgers last night. I was not disappointed. The pair that own the food truck were super friendly and helpful and enthusiastic about our enthusiasm. It was great. I got the Half Moon Bay Burger: Roquefort, blackened red peppers, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions and of course a special sauce. The burger was done right, had enough fat so it wasn't dry and nasty and the bun was substantial and delicious. Oh, did I mention they offer SWEET POTATO FRIES? This is so uniquely American so obviously I got them. And they were spot on. To end the lunch I had a red velvet cupcake, that they gladly replaced for me when I received it, covered in walnuts (I'm allergic). The cupcake itself was a perfect level of moistness, and the frosting. Oh the frosting. Not cloyingly sweet, and had the perfect amount of cream cheese. I cannot wait to head back here for their blueberry pancakes/bacon combo some morning. (They have bottles and bottles of REAL maple syrup at your disposal...not to mention plentiful amounts of Heinz ketchup and HOT SAUCE. And some sort of caramel for their French toast.) I love all food that comes from a truck, but this place was especially endearing. ENORRMEE coup de coeur!!

We were absolutely AMAZED how delicious this little cozy restaurant was and service was 10 stars . The three guys who were running the whole restaurant were so nice, welcoming, friendly, efficient and hardworking. They all had great attitude and so polite, I love Paris and the people are so kind and polite. We had primitive wine I think that's what they called it on the menu. We had margarita pizza and arugula & artichoke salad. They brought us bread which was pizza crust delicious, I'm sure they have a pizza oven & by the way kitchen was underground because they had an elevator called dumb waiter to send up the food. We shared marscapone biscotti pistachio dessert OMG. Cappuccino for my husband and I had an Americano and I LOVE IT that they heated up the cream. Details are everything and simply delicious food. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE. Thank you to the amazing host, waiter, server & most of all the amazing CHEF for the amazing food that he has made.
