After a recent medical procedure I found myself having permanent damage to my upper teeth.A prior dentist stated the only solution would be 6 implants which would be extremely expensive and take over a year to accomplish. I started to do some research on implants and came across a dentist that did something different and they we're called mini implants . They seem to be unique in that they use the original teeth and are not as complex to install like that of a normal implant. Ironically this doctor was located in the town that I just moved into. The office was called Tuckerton Dental and Dr.Pertrosky was the dentist. Dr. Pertrosky office is like visiting a tropical island as you can see from his website. Dr.Pertrosky has prestigious degrees and board affiliations hanging all over his office but what sets him apart is his considerable skills , his honesty and the caring for his patients. He also has the latest in dental equipment including lasers and the manufacturering of permanent crowns in his office while you wait! Dr. Pertrosky spent unlimited time with me and explained everything in detail about mini implants . He recommended a treatment plan using mini implants that was half the price of other dentists plus taking half the time to complete. I went along with his recommendation and now 6 months later I have a set of teeth like I never had before! I finally can eat and chew like a normal person which I haven't been able to do in years. His office staff is number 1 and go the extra mile to make your office visit a pleasant experience. If your looking for the best you have found it, you won't be disappointed!

The staff were friendly, but it felt overly performative and, at times, like I was being spoken to as if I were a child. Since it was my first visit, the receptionist gave me a goodie bag, showed me around the office, and even read me their office motto that they apparently read every morning. It felt less like a dental appointment and more like a strange orientation. During my exam, I was told I needed three crowns and one filling. I was shocked because I had not expected to need such major dental work, but I trusted their recommendation enough to schedule a financial appointment to review the cost. That financial appointment is where things really went downhill. I was told the treatment would cost over $3,000 if I paid on the day of my next appointment, but just over $2,000 if I prepaid that day. That immediately made me uncomfortable. I do not understand why a dental office would have a "prepay today" discount that changes the price by around $1,000. It felt like pressure sales tactics, not healthcare. During the financial meeting, I was also made very uncomfortable by the person reviewing the costs with me. I was wearing an FAA sweatshirt, and she asked if my husband worked for the FAA. I told her, "No, I do." The assumption that it must have been my husband's job and not mine was extremely frustrating. She then proceeded to ask what my husband does for work, which felt completely irrelevant and inappropriate since he is not a patient there and was not present at the meeting. She then started commenting about how everyone at the FAA must make good money. In the context of being asked to agree to thousands of dollars in dental work, it felt like another tactic to get me to accept the outrageous cost. After feeling uneasy, I went to another in-network dentist for a second opinion. They found the same cavities but told me there was no reason I should have been recommended crowns. Instead, I only needed a few simple fillings, which will cost about $250 total. Since both dentists are in-network with my insurance, there should not have been a difference of thousands of dollars. I am very glad I got a second opinion before moving forward. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone who is told they need expensive treatment here get another opinion before committing or prepaying.

You have to endure loud music and the television on the same volume at all times while waiting for hours in the waiting room. My real problem began when I got an infection under my crown on a molar. I came in months earlier with a painful infection and he said, he couldn't help me, that I would need an oral surgeon. COVID hit and infection went away. Months later I was told after a cleaning that my tooth needs to come out because its infected underneath, it's making me sick, and it can also cause long term health issues. All of a sudden he is qualified to remove my tooth. Even though he walked away from me months before (while I was in excruciating pain) telling me, he couldn't help me at all. Meanwhile I was told I needed an extraction that he suddenly can do, and an implant which would cost $3000 . I agreed and then shortly after, the office calls me and tells me the doctor wants to do two implants for one tooth that would cost $4600. Couldn't tell me why. I said I couldn't afford to commit to the two implants. (Because I don't have $5000 laying around) And two implants for one tooth didn't seem reasonable. But the office did say they would extract the tooth for me. It would cost $176 out of pocket. I agreed, and showed up today and then I was informed I needed to pay approximately $300 because my insurance wont cover a graph. I said "a graph, I didn't know anything about a graph". I was told, it's something to get the tooth ready for an implant. Then I stated, I don't know when or where I would get the implant done. "Maybe I could get it at a dental school" (it was off the cuff and something I probably wouldn't do). She said it was necessary and then I asked if I could pay half now. She went back to Dr. P and he said if I don't commit to having all of the work done there, then he's not touching my tooth. So basically he knows that this tooth is making me sick. But if I don't commit to a $5000 bill for work on "one" tooth, he would make me live in pain until I find another dentist in my rural area. It literally felt like I was being extorted. It seems this dentist says and does things depending on his mood. Last year I was told I need two fillings and I didn't get them done because of COVID. When I asked about the fillings last month, after my cleaning, I had no cavities to speak of. Something is very wrong with this dentist and the way he treats his patients. So go at your own risk. But I would recommend getting a second opinion if something doesn't seem normal. When I get one, I will follow up.
