This review is for the preschool which is known as Kids on the Move. Since the school is directly connected to the church, and since there is no other place to put reviews on this establishment, I believe this review is important and very relevant to anyone who is considering association with this ministry in any capacity. In August my two daughters had the opportunity to be part of KOTM preschool. My youngest went for the two year old class where she was in the process of being potty trained. It is important to note that her potty training was going quite well prior to coming to this school and her previous teacher at another school actually thought she was ready to wear underwear for the whole day. Things started going bad the second week they were there, but it was mainly for my youngest. I picked them up and made a stop. Within about 10 minutes of being at my stop, my youngest daughter had peed through her diaper. I examined her diaper and it was completely soaked. I showed the diaper to my wife and she stated it was the exact same diaper that she put on her that morning before dropping her off to school. My wife promptly sent an e-mail that evening explaining the events. It wasn't until a week later that the center responded in person (never responded directly to the e-mail). A few days later, which was approximately three weeks of our children being there, after the response, we began getting our first complaint about our youngest daughter's behavior. KOTM stated that she was hitting other kids and that if she did it again that she would be written up. The next day, she was written up. The next week we were on our way out of town and we came to pick our daughters up and when we picked up our youngest the teacher stated that she was unable to take her to the bathroom because she had other kids to look after. We were very upset about this. Around the end of September we were again notified of our daughter hitting other kids and it was stated that she was doing it on a everyday basis. We wanted to meet with management to see what was going on, what was the cause of her behavior and what was being done with her potty training. We stated that her behavior was extremely unusual, she does not have a history of regularly hitting other kids and that we are confused as to why she was behaving this way. The meeting resulted in an agreement for the staff to give her incentives for good behavior and to use redirection as a means to help curb her behavior. Only 4 days after that the director of the school pulled my wife aside as she was picking our kids up, she stated her concerned about how our daughter was behaving, how she may be getting disciplined at home and concerned with how her behavior was being addressed at home. The next day, I talked to the director. During the conversation the director stated that our daughter had been hitting kids virtually every day since she was there (my wife asked the teacher the first couple of weeks how our daughter was doing and never mentioned she hit anyone). I pointed out that it took 3 weeks for us to be given this information. The director stated that they did not see it as a concern at that time since she was new and her behavior wasn't unusual for a new student. At that point, there was an incident as we were on the phone, our daughter bit another child and essentially at that point she was kicked out of the school. About a month after being out of that school and into another school our daughter has hitting has subsided greatly. She has actually gone weeks without hitting another child and her first incident actually involved another child hitting her and her retaliating. And as far as her potty training, she has gotten back to where she was prior to KOTM and is no longer using pull ups. I certainly cannot say definitively what happened at KOTM. I know my child, and I know she never exhibited her behavior anywhere else before or after KOTM. My gut tells me that something wasn't right there and it was further shown by the pictures I have attached. I honestly believe that this place is understaffed and the workers are unable to handle the amount of kids they have. They communicate extremely poorly (lack of response to e-mail, update on child activities and progress). They have received complaints about lack of staff from the state office but the complaints were unfounded at the time. The point of this review is my hope is that other parents who have had these experiences will began to speak out and begin to show what's really happening with these kids at this school and for me to ask anyone reading this if you would ever want your kids to look like they do on these photos?

I'm a longstanding member of The Life in Woodbridge VA…read more In 2001, after returning from a military assignment in Germany with 3 kids, we were looking for a good church home during time of 9/11. We wanted a place where we could develop friendships and where our kids could participate and grow. We found several military & civil service families there, and now 19 years later we are watching our kids go off into the military, graduate college, and go to college, etc. For me, church hopping was not in the cards for my family. I wanted my kids to grow up with in one church and have a place to come to where everyone would know their name. My kids received love packages while in college. We have a church family that shows up when we celebrate graduations or other events. We have a church family that joins together to help us if we are sick or if a loved one dies. When I was promoted to into the Senior Executive Service (SES), my church family showed up in large numbers to celebrate with me for the pinning service. I'm so grateful for how my church family surrounded us with love and helped us prepare an honorable funeral service for my 95 year old father in law, a WWII veteran. They also cooked, served food, and they cleaned up after the repast. They wouldn't let us lift a finger to help, they proudly and graciously said that it was our time to rest, mourn and be served. There's always something to do in the church, and getting involved helped us meet other people early on. We didn't stand on the sidelines and leave it to chance. I can't tell you how many things we've done as a family but it includes ushering, greeting, drama ministry, dance ministry, choir, deacon ministry, mission trips to Africa, organizing fundraisers, Community Development Corp, media production ministry, vision board and strategic planning, vacation bible school, back to school giveaways, holiday meals, meals for the homeless, marriage ministry, retreats, etc. We are having service online now due to COVID-19. https://thelifedc.org/ If you want and need a family to LOVE on YOU, visit us online and get involved. First visit was on Mother's Day weekend and a lady was preaching. Have zero issue with women preaching, but she was so horrible. I later learned this is the pastors wife. Someone should also tell her how to dress in church. There was no meat to her message. It fell flat and her arrogance was evident. The service is too long and it is like they are trying to force the holy spirit into the room and onto people. Many people seemed nice from the congregation but that was all that was positive. Decided to give it another try, and this time the pastor was preaching. Seems like a nice guy, but his message was at the level for school kids and not adults. I was not fed at all. Several people in the congregation were on their phones, a couple were head nodding sleepy, and most just looked like they wanted it to be over. They do not feel genuine to me. It seems scripted, and all they want is your money. Finally, decided to give it one more try because a friend who used to attend here recommended it. Come to find out she left before this new pastor came in and wasn't aware. She said Pastor Roberts and his wife were sincere, genuine, and lovely people who loved the Lord. I regret my 3rd try. The youth pastor I guess, was preaching. WOW! Horrible! Is arrogance a requirement in this church? Does no one believe in dressing for the Lord on Sunday mornings anymore. This "pastor" made me feel icky and I would not put a child of mine within 10 miles of this guy. I felt dirty and like I needed a shower after listening to him. Also, I am pretty sure that they sang the same couple of songs on two of the occasions I was there. Does the guy leading the music not know more songs?? Also, which seemed weird for an adult service, two girls were on the praise team and seemed really young. The youngest one had a decent voice, but looked like she should be leading in the youth church, not adult church. She was up there on more than just the last visit. Attendance seemed low on all visits. The seats were not even half filled. I guess the new leadership is not up to par for people here and many have left. My friend inquired and said many left due to the new pastor. Hate this was not better. I was looking forward to it. I felt like God was not here. I felt a strong demonic presence here and just can't come back. Will be visiting other churches in the area!

Outstanding active church, one which I am blessed to be a part of: a church committed to "making…read moredisciples who make disciples." FBCW's "First Family" is very welcoming and warm from the moment you walk in the door. With a very robust children's ministry, an active teen ministry, military ministry, men's ministry, women's ministry, and small groups for every demographic you could think of, there is a place for you here! The preaching is gospel-centered, the vision for outreach is obvious, and the commitment to the accurate teaching of God's Word is paramount. Church has a traditional service at 08:30 and contemporary services at 1000 and 11:30, and a Hispanic service at 1:00 PM on Sundays, and small groups that meet throughout the week.

The sermons are extremely interesting. The Youth group is one of the best I've ever seen, with a student worship band, awesome camps, and a Youth Pastor that the teens love to listen to. Both the Youth and Children's ministers are very well organized, motivational, and centered on the Gospel. This church does a great job welcoming people and making them feel like family. I love that they consider themselves a "Go and Tell" church. Matthew 28:19-20 is the first thing you see in big letters on the wall when you walk in the front door.
