While we are disappointed that the director recently had to step away due to medical issues, we know that the school is in great hands with Heather, Sabrina and all of the teachers. I love the care and support that my son receives at Little Sunshine's. He always comes hope happy, with a smile on his face telling us of all the activities each day. He is flourishing under their curriculum, learning new skills daily. I would recommend them to any parent in the area!

When I toured the facility with Heather in April, she outlined a specific classroom, schedule, and program for my almost five-year-old. However, upon starting, he was placed in a different classroom with a mandatory one and a half to two-hour "quiet time," which I had explicitly stated would not work for him. While he was temporarily moved to the correct classroom for July, I was informed at the end of that month that the classroom would no longer be available full-time in August. This schedule change had reportedly been known since April but was never communicated to me. Furthermore, due to teacher call-outs, they again wanted to place my child in the classroom I had stated was not an option.  Heather previously indicated she would check with corporate regarding a refund after I pulled my son from the program. However, after a week of trying to reach her, I was informed when I stopped in person that a refund was denied because a "rotational class" was offered. This rotational program still requires him to return to the classroom for the two-hour nap time, which directly contradicts the promises made during my initial tour. They have also had numerous people leave in the month and a half we were there and Heather tried to blame the miscommunication on people that had left. However, she was the one who did the tour and the only one I ever talked to so the miscommunication was with her. There are so many options in this area, I highly suggest looking at one of those!

The chef is wonderful and so are the hours, but after all of our favorite caregivers left, we started looking for other options. The turnover was so high, it felt like staff came and went every few weeks. The old guard associated with Tiny Minders all departed over time; new folks coming in also left after short stints. Rooms were not staffed with enough teachers. New staff didn't know my kiddo or introduce themselves to me. I felt I was leaving her with strangers. I'm relieved we left when we did--I've since heard concerning stories. For reference our daughter is 3. I hope they can turn this ship around because I know we all desperately need safe, quality childcare.

The school recruited an amazing preschool teacher who brings solid, professional teaching and a great energy to the room. The addition of the onsite chef has been fantastic both because we no longer have to pack lunches, and the meals are full of quality and variety. Overall, a solid choice for a Boulder daycare that caters to the typical working parent.

We met with Denise and Amanda and we were so impressed with the facility, we signed our kids up right then and there. We love the variety of their education and how they move from classroom to classroom. We love Make Believe Boulevard (an indoor mini city where the kids can use their imagination to play, complete with a slide and ball pit), that Spanish is taught, they do learning bags on Fridays that the kids share an item of what they learned that week and hands down we both love the interactive LEAP Digital board and corresponding LEAP books. The teachers are amazing, very hands on and compassionate. Jelena and Liz in Toddler 2 class, our 2.5 year old absolutely adores. When we first started, we expressed how we wanted our then 2.5 year old potty trained, and within 1 week after attending there, she was. They were so patient and kind with the potty training our daughter took right to it. Corrie in the Pre-K class is so friendly and patient with the kids. Our 5 year old always came home with new songs or ideas she learned from Ms. Corrie. We were so impressed and just love all the staff there: Denise, Amanda, and Samantha at the front are super friendly and do whatever they can to accommodate your family (our youngest is in speech therapy). There are so many great things about this school and the wonderful teachers I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking for quality care for your kids.

I asked them if they were bringing any solutions to the table, to which they said they would just watch and record their behavior. I gave them an entire list of things that work at home. Such as, addressing them with a calm tone, redirecting, giving them jobs, etc. They responded with "we can't do those because it doesn't fit our way we do things". I left with nothing accomplished and got an email 5 minutes later saying they were terminating care for my child, immediately. I'm so frustrated and sad that they didn't even want to try with them and it feels like they're saying they are more trouble than they're worth. I'm devastated that they didn't get to say goodbye to any teachers or friends and are now being completely uprooted, which might make behaviors worse. What do I tell my child when they ask why we can't go back? I still don't understand why on earth the school decide to terminate IMMEDIATELY on a Friday evening when schools are closed on the weekend. I feel like that is the ultimate show of disrespect to us. No wonder they have been on probation by the state. My child loved 3 of their teachers like family and I'm so crushed right now. They've been asking why they can't come back to see their friends and it is absolutely gut wrenching. I gave them many solutions and they ultimately told me they couldn't do their job properly. So, if your child has sensory issues and needs a little extra love, I would not recommend TLE. I just wish they would have just given them another shot and tried some of our solutions.

While my daughter is naturally a happy girl, I know that her daily happiness is in no small part thanks to the incredible environment created at the school. She starts her day excited and comes home just as cheerful. It amazes me to see how much she has learned--counting to ten, reciting the alphabet, singing tons of full songs--and I know these milestones are a direct reflection of the amazing teaching and support she receives from the staff. They do charge a lot and close by 5:30pm which is impossible for most working parents. They charge $30 if you arrive at 5:31 so be prepared! Unfortunately there are two staff members who should not teach children who act like they have miserable lives. They were my child's teachers and every single day no smiles, not happy and not communicative to parents. My child loved her first year here, didn't struggle with goodbyes until she moved into this classroom and she would not want me to leave, one of the teachers walked up and grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her to the other side of the classroom telling her it's time to be at school and made her cry even more. If I could have missed work that day I would have. I do not feel children are safe in that classroom. He never once getting down on her level to try to make her feel comfortable or offer any sort of empathy. She told me she was scared to go every day. My last straw was when my child told me that another kid followed them into the bathroom and touched their private parts. They told the teacher and not only did I NOT get a call from the teachers, and NOT get an an incident report, they told me my child made it up. The office staff was absolutely useless, first claiming to "investigate" which just meant I had to follow up with them for any answer. They said it never happened. One of my child's teachers told my child in front of me that they made it up and that never happened. I had to demand my child was switched to another class room. I do not recommend. My child is still upset about getting touched inappropriately and I hate that it was met with absolutely no support.

Miss Rita can pick 'em well. Our kids have learned, grown, socialized, and played a ton--exactly what they need. When we first moved to town, we looked for daycare options in every prospective neighborhood, which is to say a lot. The yard at Strawberry Farm was the first indication this place is the best. It's a huge yard. There's a "car" area for driving, grass area, playhouses and slides, sometimes a bouncy house, sometimes a sprinkler, always a sun-protected sandbox. In the summer, there's a sun shade canopy over the kid-height picnic table and benches. There's a garden the kids help with. Inside is cozy. The whole downstairs is for kids--a quiet, dark nap room, another nap room for the youngest so they can sleep longer, a music room, cozy living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom with changing station/small toilets and sinks the kids can reach. The schedule is posted in the entrance hall. The kids have drawers and hanging pockets for delivering and picking up things. More about sleep: Our oldest had just turned 3 and we were lucky there was a spot open. The little one was 1 and no spot. He went somewhere else that was...fine...he was safe and fed. However, maybe they never turned the lights off? or didn't have a quiet room? hard to imagine but he didn't nap. They said he wouldn't nap, which was nonsense. At pick up sometimes he was asleep literally on the floor of the main room. He'd sleep in the car/bike, pass out at home and barely revive for dinner. We had to move him ASAP. Once with Miss Rita, he napped perfectly fine without any trouble. Such a relief. They have healthy food and snack every day. Lunch is prepared and the menu posted daily (I love that). They occasionally take fieldtrips to the library and a local Italian restaurant (and send along any leftovers). They have circle time and interactively enjoy story books every day. They learn manners, taking turns and polite language that has been very helpful to use at home. Life is never always smooth and to help with that, Rita will always make time to discuss concerns and issues. We've talked to her when we wondered about our kids and she talked to us when there was something we could help with. That communication is important.
