I have been happy with Mountain West Optical prior to this last pair of glasses. I was ready for an exam and a new pair of glasses. I found the frames that seemed just right. I went in when they were ready and I was pleased. A few days later the glasses just didn't feel comfortable. I went in and they were happy to fix the problem. I chose a new lighter frame. The tech helping me advised me the frames I chose may be to small on my nose. My husband and Brian (the tech) were in a tense discussion about cataracts and why did he just have an exam and new lenses with absolutely no correction in the vision of his left eye. I was in the exam room with him as he stated clear as can be" if there cant be improved sight with the left eye then let's not do anything" Dr. Fish wrote a new perspiration and lenses were made. When he put them on and no change in sight was made it was sorry no refunds. So back to me. In my opinion Brian was frazzled with Thad and he did not take any time with me he just said ok if this is what you want let's do it. Now a week later the glasses are most definitely from putty. They will not keep structure every 4 minutes I have to push them up my nose. I go back in. This Tim I spend a great deal of time with another tech. I find the perfect frames. She makes the order. As I was leaving I ran into Brian and told him the trouble I had with the glasses. Brian's response was you can't have another pair. I thought it was odd but smiled as I left. The next week I get a phone message from the tech who wrote my new order. She said Brian informs her I can only have my original glasses. That's it. The owner calls and says come in let's see what's going on. He stretched and heated and bent and talked for a good 15 minutes. Stating the only thing wrong was they were not properly fitted. Very nice customer service. I still walked out with glasses that fall off my face every 4 minutes. 2 more times he insisted we try fitting them better. I live 30 miles from twin by the way and we are on visit 5 I just want glasses that fit. I spent $900.00 on the glasses. Terry the owner did say he was unfamiliar with these frames, they were a new line in the store and he also admitted that they will not hold a fit. I need to give a shoutout to a great company as well as Terry Tranmer. He was recommended by ESS Eyeware. I wanted a difficult specialty pair of glasses for shooting. My eyes are not what they used to be. I could not see my front sight. I wanted short or reading distance at the top that allowed me to see clearly when shooting. That's a pretty good thing when shooting. LOL. I saw a company that used a bifocal like a reader at the top so I figured I would have a pescription bifocal made with distance lengths on the middle and bottom but 27" distance at the top so when I was in a pistol shooting position I could see my front sight clearly. They did a great job The only thing was I could not get accustomed to the bifocal line. I decided I wanted a second pair but I wanted one for low light with higher contrast amber tint. The second pair I had made progressive prescription at the top. (no line) I could not be happier. I sent the bifocal pair with dark lenes back and had those made without the line. I love my glasses. He gave me a fast turnaround I'm in California and could not just drop them off. I was also going to a class in Nevada and needed them quickly. I had to demand he charge me for the change which was my idea and request. He said he Guaranteed all of his work but his work was perfect and it was my request that I wanted changed. He did a wonderful job and I will return for all my prescription glasses needs. Terry made a customer for life. I like the quality of his work so much when I use my standard glasses bought elsewhere, they are nowhere near as good as my Mountian West Optical pairs. Thank you for the gift of wonderful vision. Mountain West Optical - My ESS shooting glasses - Optometrists Near Me - Twin Falls, Idaho

After several good experiences with this optical shop I bought a pair of Chesterfield metal frames and tinted, non-Rx lenses. They looked great until the right lens began to loosen. Despite attempts to tighten the lens, one day someone pointed out to me that I was missing the right lens. The retailer would not refund the frames but gave me a discount on replacing the lens. Later, the same thing occurred again with the same right lens. I had to drop off the frames (I live out of the town where Mountain West is located), and have them use some sort of adhesive to lock down the frame screw, then pay for return shipping. Once again, the same thing happened and Mountain West refused to refund the price of the defective frames or to even give me a credit toward a different frame. I personally would never deal with this store again. When a retailer sells defective products they have an obligation to take back the item, whether or not their supplier will credit them. read more

Poor, poor, poor service unbelievable, spent hours trying to just get an appointment. After calling my provider myself, talking with the clerks a number of times, I finally gave up and moved on. It's 2015, can NOT understand how a professional cannot make sure they can work with all insurance(s).... read more

very unprofessional and high prices. They break my frames on my old glasses welded back together and replaced with new frames. New frames and new lenses. Very heavy and painful. Many many adjustments and new nose pads. asked for new frames as stated in their warranty. Tried to get out of it by saying it needs more adjustments different nose pads. One of the employees laughed and i said this isnt funny get the owner. He came over and said we will do what ever this takes to make this right. New frames and lenses are done. i go in and they are the old script in my new frames. Glad i said something about this. He went and got my files and said this is your old script. we messed up. New glasses are done. They were fitted and adjusted and then he said are done dont come back in there again. So this means i can not get the warranty on the new lenses and frames. The price for just the lenses is 462.00 not including the frames. I have never been treated like this before. They screw up twice and this is what happens. read more
