I lived here for 4 years, and I will always be grateful…read morefor a roof over my head during a time when I was struggling, but this is THE WORST place I've ever lived. Management is rude, incompetent, apathetic, and grossly negligent and irresponsible with a God-complex. For the past two years, they have failed to provide a safe living environment for tenants, especially to ones with small children. In 2018, they moved in an attempted arsonist, with a pending felony in another state. They were disruptive 24/7.. loud arguments with profanities, thumping music, banging walls, smoking marijuana which stunk up my apartment, shady visitors at all hours of the night.. when I discovered the event (from a simple Google search) and began fearing for my safety, I reported everything to management. I was told to report to police because "I can't do anything about it". She swears he passed a background check, but there's no way. Even if he had - it was grossly negligent to move this person in (to a building full of single moms, no less) given the nature of the event and the involvement of firearms. Safety is a basic human right - one that I and that other moms in that building - have been deprived of for two years. I was told "if you don't like it, move". I was financially unable to move during those 2 years because I'm a single mom and I was in Nursing school to better my future for my child. When I began complaining on the strange behaviors in that apartment, the manager told the dangerous neighbors who I was, which apartment I was in, and told them to come talk to me because again "she couldn't do anything about it" (common theme, here) This was a gross violation of tenant confidentiality and my safety as this fueled their animosity towards me and began the 2 years of harassment I received. My car was keyed by these neighbors back in April. Despite concrete video evidence, he remains a tenant there while another girl was evicted for toilet papering her friend's place as an innocent prank. But the manager picks and chooses who she moves in based on who she likes. After totaling my vehicle and getting a replacement, that car was also keyed.. and not long after, the entire side of my mom's van was keyed. That's three vehicles keyed right under management's nose and nothing was done. I filed several incident and CAD reports against these neighbors through the PD when their harassment (beyond tampering with vehicles) turned into 'intimidation tactics" like trying to run me off the road, or following me out of my apartment and yelling threats and profanities. I would call the manager and tell her what was going on and she literally said "I wish you'd stop calling me and bothering me over petty stuff. I can't do anything about it". Other tenants are terrified to say anything for fear of becoming the next target to these neighbors or fear of retaliation from management such as eviction, with nowhere to go. I once overheard the manager slam her hands down on the desk and yell at another tenant "If everyone would shut up and mind their own damn business, things would run fine here!!" There are so many shady things happening here that upper management either doesn't know about or also tries to sweep under the rug.. background checks are entirely too lax, if done at all, and it's not fair to the good people who are trying to provide a safe home for their families. It's discriminatory against low-income people trying to do better for themselves. I spent 2 days cleaning my apartment from top to bottom (with several witnesses) before I moved out so I could get my security deposit back, minus the 7 days prorated rent during the move out. I took pictures and videos, so did my mom. Yet they kept over 90% of security deposit, despite what is considered "normal wear and tear" in the eyes of the LAW. Despite the fact that the apartments are not being updated between tenants like they're supposed to be (and some tenants moving in with their carpet smelling like pee or their stoves catching on fire..) I guess this is their feeble attempt at retaliation since I am currently pursuing a lawsuit against the complex and discussing this with the local news. So if you want to move into a straight up ghetto, this is your place. If you desire peace and safety, this is not the place for you. I have lost so much sleep over the past two years. I spent so many nights trying to figure out an escape plan and what I would be able to grab in the event of the neighbors burning the apartments down. (They also allow smoking indoors despite the federal smoking ban.. and two weeks in my new home and I am still trying to wash the smell out of all of my clothes.) I wanted to move and couldn't.. but I shouldn't have to move to feel safe in my own home. I've never been so happy to leave anywhere!

My same unit faced the same issue approximately 2 years ago, and no other unit had this problem. Every staff member I spoke to gave me the run around, not knowing the facts, clearly poorly trained, and simply no understanding of how to do their basic job requirements. As a company, I'd take another look at how my staff is running my business. I'm a new renter and lived here a short 6 months before all of my belongings were drenched in rusty water and proceeded to sit in a mold inhabited environment for 5 days before any action was taken by the leasing office. I was told to let my belongings "dry out." My mattress was set outside in the snow. I was given a 48 hour notice to get my belongings out of the inhabitable apartment that I paid the full month's rent for hours prior to the sprinkler busting and nonstop water soaks everything I own. Zero compensation, zero money for signing the "liability waiver" when signing my lease. Unrecoverable damages to all my personal belongings, not to mention the emotional turbulence of having to deal with this on my own.

Advertised as luxurious apartments with all these great amenities. It is all a lie. The said amenities are constantly broken or not open. The reality is that it is an UNSAFE and very trashy area to move into. The pool is open two months out of the year, and even then, there is no upkeep and its constantly filled with trash of alcohol cans floating in the pool, the chairs are so ripped you can sit in them, and bathrooms are filled with uncleaned throw up for days. It is supposedly a gated community, what a lie! The gate has been broken for TWO YEARS, which is crazy. My car is constantly broken into and bikes are always being stolen, along with sketchy characters circling around. Also very hostile neighbors, have made me feel severely unsafe. Old creepy men asking me where I live, etc. I would not let kids roam around here freely. Getting mail here is atrocious experience and it has taken weeks of getting sent to talking to different people just to get a package. Supposedly smoke free but the stench of cigarette smoke is always lingering. People don't clean up after their dogs and you will always step in poop as soon as you leave your door. Maintenance is also nonexistent, I had no running water, not able to flush toilets, take showers, etc. They didn't show up for days, literal DAYS. All of this and they will charge you insane prices, save yourself the sanity unlike me and avoid these apartments at all cost!

From our first conversation, she was warm, knowledgeable, extremely organized and clear in her communication. We knew almost nothing about the home-buying process, let alone the complexities of the market in Asheville, and she made sure we understood and were aligned every step of the way. It took nearly a year to find our house in a rollercoaster market with a lot of ups and downs, but Anne Marie kept us level-headed and never rushed the process. She kept our needs and preferences as the top priority, gave us her honest opinion, and toured houses I'm sure she knew weren't the right fit in order to make sure we left no stone unturned. Once we were under contract, she took so much off our plates by helping us get quotes and expert opinions on multiple issues and meeting with countless vendors during the short due diligence period. We purchased our home without seeing it in person, which may not have been possible without her understanding of our taste and lifestyle needs. We're so lucky to have had such a patient and skilled agent when buying our first home. I can't recommend her enough!
