We were a little early so we wandered around and went in to the gift shop and then in to Stables Ranch Grille for an adult beverage to get the afternoon going. The interior of the restaurant and bar is warm and inviting and full of history. My Sonoran Blood Orange cocktail was just what the doctor ordered. The massage experience felt luxurious and healing. Fluffy robes, slippers, a relaxing private waiting area as well as an outdoor seating area with a hot tub for spa clients. The women's locker room has a dry sauna and a steam room. Lockers, showers, a full array of complimentary products to make one beautiful and clean again after any treatment. Yesterday I had the House Salad, full of the usual vegetable suspects, a hardboiled egg, several slices of bacon, and a sliced chicken breast, hot off the grill and super tender. The default dressing is ranch but I love the chef's Caesar, so opted for that. I was almost able to finish the salad and it was delicious. The restaurant and golf course are semiprivate so open to the public. Wednesday and Friday nights are dinner specials and holidays have special menus. Thanksgiving was fabulous (no cooking or cleanup for me!) and a teaser was just put out for St. Patrick's Day.

Some neat water features and for most of the year the greens, fairways and tee boxes were retry well maintained. Sadly, it is not being taken care of at all now. The water features are draining and fish are dying. The fairways are as hard as concrete and not watered. The fairways are like a tier under a poorly run muni course. The sand traps are either packed dirt with rocks or they have allowed grass to take over and they're now grass pits. I feel bad for the folks who live in Del Lago on the course. It's just not a good sight to see. I most likely won't go back until it turns around.

While the pace of play was a little slow, that's not unusual for a Saturday. The tee boxes were in great shape, the fairways and greens were in good shape, the bunkers in poor shape.
