Last year my wife Jessica decided she would like to light up our large Pine tree in the front of…read morethe house for the holidays. She spoke to several people and the representative from SavATree basically had the best pitch of how great they could make the tree look and the price was reasonable around $500. She has been looking forward to this all year. In AUG the company offered us a further discount for prepaying and we did in the amount of $458.81. A different representative on the phone also commented how great this was going to look. Fast forward to last week (final site survey before install this week), when another representative comes out and says that this is going to look really bad unless we pay more money ...on the order of almost a factor of ten times more...$4800. The company acknowledges that their representative misrepresented what they were going to provide but sees no reason to honor the original effect that we contracted and paid for. They say we wont be happy with that type of light that their representative put in for...I'm no lighting expert and the size of bulbs with technology today seems irrelevant. It also seems irrelevant since they aren't selling us the lights but rather borrowing us their lights and get them back. In essence there shouldn't be any difference in cost stringing a C9 , D4 or whatever they are since they get them back. The effort is putting them up and taking them down. We contracted for a visual effect, not a specific bulb type. They promised a beautiful display for $500, they should deliver that. The lights are temporary and reused, so the cost difference between bulb types is negligible. Installation labor is the real cost, and that was already factored into your prepaid amount. They admitted fault, they should make it right.

Recently one of my kind neighbors suggested Tree Hoppers as a reliable company for tree removal. I…read morehad three large, tall, and very dead trees that needed to be removed and because fire season is upon us, I wanted them removed now instead of later. Paul at Tree Hoppers came exactly when he said he would to give me a quote, which was better by far less than other quotes I had received. The trees were all removed without a hitch. He mulched the branches on the spot, taking the mulch away, and cut the trunks into stove-sized logs for a friend who wanted them. When my friend came with his trailer, Tree Hoppers even loaded his trailer with the logs, which was a great favor to him, a senior citizen. I was grateful for the extra help on his behalf. Tree Hoppers cleaned up the work area, sweeping and leaf-blowing the sawdust to manicure the area, and the entire job was performed in about four hours, to my amazement. They effectively cut down the stumps so that I will not be constantly tripping over them. I couldn't have asked for a better job and at a better price. Tree Hoppers is a wonderful company to work with; I strongly recommend them. Call early, apparently they book up pretty fast.

Disappointing initial interaction so I never got their services. I spent a few days working with…read moretheir team on a very simple landscape maintenance project. Our front yard is very small and we have an even smaller patch of turf that we wanted some help mowing/fertilizing. I was satisfied with their pricing structure but for the fact that they wanted to charge an insanely high hourly rate for hand pulling weeds. I called to talk to them about this and to point out that there weren't many weeds that were grown but a lot of fledgling weeds which was the whole reason we needed the help (we handpick / dig up more mature weeds all the time). We reached an agreement we were comfortable with and then when they sent us an upgraded bid, they still had a crazy high amount baked into the bid for handpicking weeds. I called to ask if they could get an eyes on the property before we approved that high amount (as I was comfortable with them spraying instead of handpicking) and they said they didn't have time to send anyone out and that the height of the weed will determine whether they spray or handpick, then they told me we could handpick the weeds that were taller ourselves if we wanted to, which was pretty upsetting. I felt very nickle and dimed by these folks given that our yard is not very big and the cost including the handpicking was the highest bid we received by far. We wanted to work with them but they were so concerned about a team of landscapers having to pick maybe 5-6 weeds, they set a very high price. I even sent them a picture of the yard and they even agreed there arent many weeds but still insisted on the high handpicking charge. Very disappointed.
