We were seated right away with no reservation (on a Tuesday evening around 7:30 pm); I imagine reservations probably come in handy. We started with a bottle of wine - the wine list had a wide range of bottles priced lower to your more expensive bottle; we chose one in the middle range (super Tuscan) and it was very tasty. Reviews on food: Calamari: I really enjoyed the calamari! It was lightly battered but had just enough crunch. The flavor was great. They even had lemon wedges and pepperoncini fried in with the calamari which I loved. Cesar salad: I forgot to snag a picture of the salad, and it also happened to be my least favorite item we ordered. The dressing was overly sweet for my liking and did not have your standard Cesar flavoring. I wish I would have asked more about the dressing to understand it a little better. I probably would not order this salad again. Eggplant parmigiano: this was sooooo good! The eggplant was breaded and cooked perfectly. I could have just eaten the eggplant it was so tasty. Highly recommend!! Tagliatelle bolognese: I am a huge sucker for bolognese, so I usually judge this sauce pretty tough. This. Was. De. Licious!!! The meat sauce was full of flavors and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I was impressed! Butterscotch budino: perfect way to end our meal. I'm a huge fan of butterscotch flavored desserts and this did not disappoint. It was light and not too heavy after a meal of pasta. The thick layer caramel on top was delicious. The portions were big in my opinion, so while prices were a little high, I thought we got our moneys worth of food. Our server (and others that came to the table) were all super kind and helpful. It does get very loud in the restaurant, so had the weather been nice enough to eat outside, I probably would have chose the patio seating. Overall this was a great meal! 5 starts for the scrumptious food, portion size, and service.

Oh, Mambo. You had so much potential…read more.. My wife and I came here for dinner while on vacation in Steamboat. I ordered the chicken piccata, and my wife got the bolognese. The portions are HUGE, and we easily could have shared. The bolognese was decent; you could tell the pasta was fresh, but the sauce was on the acidic side (needed a pinch of sugar to cut it), and there was very little meat to speak of. It seemed far too expensive to be primarily a bowl of noodles and tomato sauce. The chicken piccata was also mediocre-- very salty, and the sauce was lacking in lemon flavor and far too heavy on the butter. Chicken piccata is one of my favorite dishes, and this one was trying so hard to be fancy that it missed the mark on executing what is traditionally a simple dish of crispy chicken cutlets in a lemon white wine butter sauce with capers. Could hardly taste the lemon, and I'd be surprised if there was white wine in it. I only ate half because I feared the butter sauce would wreak havoc on my stomach. The dinner was disappointing, so we gave Mambo another chance by ordering a takeout pizza on our last night with an order of tiramisu. The pizza was also mediocre-- it was extremely greasy with a soggy crust. At $36, it was a pricey mistake. The tiramisu was literally a tub of mascarpone cream and cocoa powder-- not a ladyfinger in sight. I assume this was an oversight in the kitchen, but a straight mouthful of mascarpone cream is not appetizing... I called and spoke to the manager, who agreed to refund the dessert, but overall I would not recommend Mambo based on my two separate experiences.

They offer a wide range of choices, including pasta, burgers, pizza, Mexican dishes, and some Asian-inspired options, which initially seemed exciting. However, the execution didn't quite match the variety. The space itself has a great atmosphere, with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, TVs for watching sports, and thoughtful decor throughout the main area and upstairs. The service was also a highlight, the bartenders were attentive, friendly, and quick. The burger was fairly average, and the birria ramen lacked the richness, depth of flavor, and fresh ingredients I was hoping for. While the location and overall vibe are appealing, the food didn't live up to the experience I was expecting. I don't think I'd return, but I can see the appeal for those looking for a lively spot to hang out, watch a game, and enjoy the atmosphere.

They also have a large wood-fired oven, which had us excited for the meal. Sadly, the food was a major disappointment. For the prices they're charging, I expected much better quality and flavor. The pizza was bland, made with what tasted like low-quality ingredients, and nearly everyone's pizza at our table looked burnt on one side. The pasta was even more underwhelming, it lacked any real creaminess or depth of flavor, with the sauce tasting mostly like black pepper and little else. It honestly felt like very little effort had gone into the dish. The wrong pasta was used for this dish and it was also overcooked. By the end of the meal, I didn't even want pizza or pasta for a while, which says a lot. Our server was kind and friendly, but there were long stretches where they disappeared, making service feel inconsistent. Overall, despite the great location and inviting atmosphere, the food simply didn't live up to expectations, and I wouldn't recommend it.
