We saw they had a happy hour advertised. We thought we would check it out…read more When we came down the stairs, the first thing the bartender asked us was whether we had a reservation. Right away I said no, and asked if we needed a reservation to sit at the bar. Another customer at the bar said, "No! Clearly there is room!" He was the only one at the bar. I then saw that there was a tv and asked if they were playing the World Cup games. They then told us that the tv didn't have live tv service and was just looping something. Ok, the small pub table in the bar section was available. We sat there since the tv wasn't necessary. Asked about the beer happy hour special, they only had 3 bars on tap: lager, red, ipa. (Only 3 of 6 taps being used). We went in for a quick happy hour thinking it would have that type of environment. It clearly wasn't meant for that type of customer. The service clearly showed us that.

Oh, Mambo. You had so much potential…read more.. My wife and I came here for dinner while on vacation in Steamboat. I ordered the chicken piccata, and my wife got the bolognese. The portions are HUGE, and we easily could have shared. The bolognese was decent; you could tell the pasta was fresh, but the sauce was on the acidic side (needed a pinch of sugar to cut it), and there was very little meat to speak of. It seemed far too expensive to be primarily a bowl of noodles and tomato sauce. The chicken piccata was also mediocre-- very salty, and the sauce was lacking in lemon flavor and far too heavy on the butter. Chicken piccata is one of my favorite dishes, and this one was trying so hard to be fancy that it missed the mark on executing what is traditionally a simple dish of crispy chicken cutlets in a lemon white wine butter sauce with capers. Could hardly taste the lemon, and I'd be surprised if there was white wine in it. I only ate half because I feared the butter sauce would wreak havoc on my stomach. The dinner was disappointing, so we gave Mambo another chance by ordering a takeout pizza on our last night with an order of tiramisu. The pizza was also mediocre-- it was extremely greasy with a soggy crust. At $36, it was a pricey mistake. The tiramisu was literally a tub of mascarpone cream and cocoa powder-- not a ladyfinger in sight. I assume this was an oversight in the kitchen, but a straight mouthful of mascarpone cream is not appetizing... I called and spoke to the manager, who agreed to refund the dessert, but overall I would not recommend Mambo based on my two separate experiences.

They said they already brought it out and realized someone must have taken it. So they made us another one which they said would take 10 min. It didn't buzz so we went up and finally got it after around 15 min. We waited 45 min for our one small pizza! We were starving after our hike! We got the how ya doin signature pizza. It was actually very good. White sauce. Heaps of toppings. Toppings kept falling off work every bite bc they were tiny but it was still tasty. Super oily. We didn't understand how come when our first pizza was done, why our buzzer didn't buzz. Did they just hand it to the wrong person?

They offer a wide range of choices, including pasta, burgers, pizza, Mexican dishes, and some Asian-inspired options, which initially seemed exciting. However, the execution didn't quite match the variety. The space itself has a great atmosphere, with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, TVs for watching sports, and thoughtful decor throughout the main area and upstairs. The service was also a highlight, the bartenders were attentive, friendly, and quick. The burger was fairly average, and the birria ramen lacked the richness, depth of flavor, and fresh ingredients I was hoping for. While the location and overall vibe are appealing, the food didn't live up to the experience I was expecting. I don't think I'd return, but I can see the appeal for those looking for a lively spot to hang out, watch a game, and enjoy the atmosphere.
