We just moved to the area from NY. I was looking for prek for my daughter and saw this school on my…read moreevening walks. I called for a tour and was placed on hold for 30 min. Called again 3 times and was told that they were too busy to "deal with my request". Then lady thing up as in was talking. I am so glad I got to see their true colors before sending my child to this dump. Luckily, I found another school and we are very pleased with level of service and professionalism. Warning: stay away from this place and do your research.

I am writing this review as my last review was removed because it appears Susan contacted Yelp and…read moreprobably paid them to have it removed. They have said I cannot add anything about how she treats employees so I will keep review about the experience my self and my child had at this school. AS A PAYING CUSTOMER, I HAVE THE RIGHT TO REVIEW THIS SCHOOL. Marlen and Susan are extremely disorganized, disrespectful and are horrible human beings. They lack empathy and customer services skills. All they care about is $$$. They treat you like you need them more than they need you. After months of enrollment and paying as scheduled, I was told that the owner didn't have time to program key fobs for new families. This meant that on cold and rainy days, I would stand outside with my child waiting for someone to walk by the door and allow us inside. Additionally, the AC unit broke in my child's classroom, which meant the children went without AC the entire summer. On multiple occasions, I found the children playing outside most of the day in extreme temperatures and was told that it was nicer outside then in the classroom due to broken AC. Additionally, the yard was infested with mosquitoes which made my children look like they had chicken pox. The owner does not spray the yard to minimize the mosquitoes, although there is a creek/wooded area behind the school. My child was being bullied by an older kid while in the playground. This was brought to the attention of Marlen and she laughed it off saying that the bully's mom behaved the same way and there was nothing she could do because the mom was friends with Susan, the owner. That should tell you right there the type of human being Susan is. Marlen is Susan's puppet so she does whatever she tells her. There is no real care for the children as it is all about $$$. I would encourage you visit other schools in the area. DO NOT give your hard earned money to this evil woman. THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE SCHOOL AS IT SUCKS!!!

This is definitely one of the best parishes you'll find in this part of Alexandria. The church is…read morebeautiful, and the music is well done and played beautifully. The priests here are amazing, they are down to earth and give great insight, and the BEST homilies. I've never heard a bad homily here. They don't play around with controversial issues, they know what the Catholic Church's teachings are and they tell it like it is.

I was disgusted and insulted by manner of the priest who spoke during the homily regarding very sensitive and hot issues that I left with my family before service ended because I refuse to support someone like this and did not want my son to think this was okay. He put blanket assumptions over transgender and birth control issues, but what was really insulting was the example he used about people who are struggling with gender identity. He had stated that statistics show they are suffering from deep psychological issues, but then decided to use an example of him wanting to be a pirate to describe the situation, describing it in a mockery way that some people were laughing. What a complete lack of compassion. The Catholic Church may have its belief on this issue, which you may agree or disagree with, but if someone who was struggling with this issue or had already turned and attended this mass hoping for guidance, this homily would have provided the opposite. No sense of welcomeness within this community.
