Everyone I spoke to was nice and competent, but Dorsey-Carlone also had the best prices. Stephanie helped us get the paperwork ready in advance of his death to reduce the burden on the family after the event. Stephanie was so warm and caring. On the day my brother-in-law died, her team showed up promptly and acted professionally. Stephanie was extremely helpful when she came to the house to get all the paperwork done. We didn't think we'd have his ashes back before his memorial, but Stephanie made a special trip to the house when they came in the day before his service. We did not do the service at Dorsey-Carlone, just the cremation. Stephanie recommended the Cortlandt Colonial for the celebration of life, which worked out very well. She was extremely helpful and her presence was very comforting during a truly terrible time. I would recommend Dorsey-Carlone without reservation.

I see a couple of negative reviews on here saying that the staff wasn't professional or no one picked up the phone, other nonsense and I have to say this was NOT my experience at all and we've been going to the funeral home for years with the same funeral director (Tom Roemmelt). The staff is extremely accommodating. For our most recent funeral, our beloved Auntie Ro loved playing the lottery. And we mentioned we wanted to have some sort of floral arrangement that would somehow honor that. Tom says "let me see what I can do." He calls up the florist, explains to them the situation, and a few seconds later he hangs up and looks at me and my wife and says "It's done." And sure enough, the arrangement came out BEAUTIFULLY, and everyone who came to the service loved it. And it provided quite a few smiles on such a dark and sad day. Also our beloved Auntie Ro was 95, and Janitza Soto made her look absolutely wonderful. They dyed her hair *exactly* the way she liked it and did her makeup flawlessly. Rose would have loved it. They took every single instruction and request we gave them and executed it perfectly right down to the pink rosary we gave them to have Auntie Ro was holding in her hands. They never once rushed us. Or pressured us. And they were always at all times professional, courteous and respectful. Tom even gave me his personal cell number to contact him directly no matter what time of day or night. To which, last minute things came up and I had to text him at midnight at he responded IMMEDIATELY. Cannot say enough nice things about this funeral home and staff. Highly recommend working with them. AAAAAAAA+++++++

Lori the daughter of the the generational owner was superb. I went to the parlor about 2 months after the cremation as I wanted to have prayer cards made. They pulled her file within 30 seconds. I was taken care of by a young man that is somewhat new in the business, but he was wonderful too. We designed, ordered and paid for the cards in twenty minutes. They then allowed me into their chapel to say a prayer or two. There will be more services needed in my lifetime and I will be sure to use this parlor and family owned organization. Matter of fact I will be sure to have my family use it for my services. Their prices are also the best around. Thank you for everything. Mary M

We just had my father in laws service here and they were amazing. We couldn't ask for more ! The owners son was outstanding. He made sure we were all taken care of. That young man is going to make a great owner in the future. Very respectful, listened to everything our family asked for. He constantly made sure we were all okay and didn't want for anything. We had last minute things to put together and he would take charge and put together the last minute things for us. This place makes you feel at home with their hospitality ( which is rare these days ). It's already hard burying a family member, but Forever After Funeral home made us feel at ease. Everyone cannot stop saying how beautiful his casket was designed and down to the flower arrangements. Even the driver who drove the limo to the cemetery was the sweetest , we followed behind them and with all this traffic he would call us to make sure we were okay and keeping up with them. We again appreciate everyone who played a role in my father in laws service. If we could give this place more than 5 stars we would !!!! Xoxo , many blessings to the family of Forever After Funeral Home !

Cleaning it wasn't in our plans for this year, but the death of a family member who wanted to be buried in that plot found us scrambling to improve its look. That's when we reached out to the Koch Monument team of Hackensack, NJ for help. We only had one weekend before the funeral to find someone who could attempt to clean it. The first company we called said it would take weeks so they couldn't do it. But then we called Koch Monument. We reached out to them on a Friday to prepare for a funeral the following Tuesday, and all they needed was a picture of the headstone to provide us an estimate, and once we agreed to their estimate they went right to work. When our family and friends arrived at the cemetery we discovered the headstone looked brand new, and stuck out from all the surrounding headstones which looked like ours did before the Koch Monument team cleaned it. And members of our family were especially touched at how good it looked. So we can whole heartedly recommend Koch Monument to anyone looking to have cemetery stonework cleaned. Now, I wonder just how true or old these reviews were. First of all, looks like they haven't updated the place in many, many years & communication & handling business is not done on a professional level, no way near. The office & so called waiting area is a joke. They have old brown home theater chairs in the tiny waiting area, where there is barely room to walk. Geraldine, who has the title of Funeral Director is a very interesting person to witness and several errors were made with my Mother's Funeral. As she & I were going over what I wanted in the funeral, she had no pictures for me to see what I'd be getting, despite my asking to see pictures. She would just try to give a visual explanation, even though I saw a few books on the table-one or two of coffins. I was unable to see pictures of urns or the register book. When it was all said & done, the price rose a few hundred dollars from what I was shown initially. As, I said, I was in a time crunch & trying to find another place was not really an option for me. Mistakes: Body viewing was to be 11AM - 1PM & funeral at 1pm. Well, on the order of service booklet viewing was printed 11.00AM -1:00AM & funeral 1:00AM. Also, there were misspellings and things not in the proper order, as well as missing listings in the program. In the small glass bulletin showcase above the Register book it read: Viewing 9AM & Funeral 11AM...totally wrong! The organ there is extremely old and was not operating correctly. Many of the presets, effects, switches, knobs, bass pedals etc. were not working or when one switch was turned on another part of the keyboard would turn off. It took my best friend, (who is a professional musician for 40+ years, plays on Broadway & around the world) more time than usual to get the organ to function & at least have a decent sound. In the Register, my mother's name is hand written as Miss instead of Mrs. I could go on, listing other things, but I won't. Bottom line...I do not recommend this place, however, I must acknowledge the owner, Mr. Benton, who I did not meet until day of funeral. He was extremely polite, made sure that I/we felt comfortable & explained anything that needed it & a great job was done on my mother's appearance. She looked even younger than her true age. When it comes to preparing the body for view; I do recommend Mr.Benton.
