I have had two students go through the preschool program at St. Peter's and it is truly the best of…read morethe best! For the 2 year old students they even have a special outdoor play area with smaller slides and toys for that age group that both of my daughters have enjoyed! Their outdoor space and playground for the prek3 and older students is fantastic too (lots of swings and slides!) and I always felt my kids were getting such a great mix of education as well as fun outdoor time at school. Utilizing sensory bins, painting, motor room, etc. my kids have enjoyed so many fun and educational activities at this school. We have had excellent teachers for the past 4 years we have been here! Even with a child with food allergies I felt very supported by the staff including her in snacks/activities and checking in with me occasionally when needed to make sure she could be included. Even more recently St. Peter has allowed students to bring their own snacks in to accommodate the many food allergies children have nowadays. Ms. Cummins by far has been the best teacher we have ever had. She updates parents daily through the school's app (which not all teachers do!) and I always feel that I know what my child is doing at school by her fantastic communication. Anytime I have questions about something and email her she gets back to me immediately. My family has been so lucky to have her for 2 of our children. She is the most passionate, knowledgeable and caring teacher. Both of my children have learned SO much and grown by being in her class, I will forever be grateful! I would highly recommend this school to anyone in Arlington Heights and the northwest suburbs of Chicago area.

Both my boys had the same 2's teacher since that's how St. Peter does it. We have been so happy and blessed and honestly this teacher is as wonderful as they come. An absolute blessing. I was actually surprised to see another review as we had the exact opposite with that teacher. Mrs. Cummins is honestly a blessing and one of the most amazing teachers. She is the reason we never considered any other option for our second child. She has embraced all the difficulties he has had in this being his first exposure to school. She is openly communicative with all the parents and kids and I can speak for the other moms in the class as well we feel we hit the jackpot with her. When any issues arise she discusses them and works with us to find a solution that best fits our child, us and finally her. Our older son has Mrs. Grissom this year and he is thriving because of her. She treats the kids with kindness, love, and teaches them confidence. My older son was always more nervous in the school settings but she has really helped him blossom. Not only are the preschool teachers amazing but the staff is so incredibly kind and loving. They know your kids by name and ask how everyone is doing. Feeling this level of care has kept us at St. Peter. You can choose anywhere for your child to go but St. Peter has always been accommodating and caring.

I am trying to enroll my son for public education preschool services with the Early Learning Center…read moreright now and feeling pretty frustrated. Long story short, I wanted my son to start preschool tomorrow (his 3rd birthday), but it appears that the Post Office has misplaced the registration paperwork that I mailed in last Friday (at least, I will give the ELC the benefit of the doubt that this is the Post Office's screw-up and not theirs). Okay, what can I do to get him starting classes ASAP, I asked? "You need to come in and pick up the paperwork and fill it out." Can't you just scan the paperwork to me so I can fill it out and have someone drop it off, I asked? I am a single mom and I work during their business hours. My older child is disabled and about to have surgery and I am saving my paid time off for that. That is the whole reason that I mailed it in the first time instead of dropping it off myself. "No, you need to come in and pick up the paperwork, because we need originals." What on earth does them needing originals have to do with me getting the paperwork in the first place?? (Also, I registered my daughter at another CCSD59 school by scanning in the registration paperwork, so I really don't see why the ELC "needs originals"; I already brought in my son's birth certificate in person.) Here's the kicker: I begin poking around the CCSD59 Web site and what do I find there? The registration paperwork in PDF form. There should have been no problem with scanning it to me.

i waited several weeks to post this review to make sure that i wasn't coming in too hot…read more i have been going to the location on Harlem since i was in elementary school and never had an issue, so when i saw there was a location closer to me, i figured id give it a shot. wrong move, because the student that worked on my hair and the "teacher" that was supposed to be overseeing her work completely destroyed my confidence in Tricocci entirely, and i will never step foot in one of their schools or salons ever again. i asked for a few inch cut and a bleach- i still had some blue in my hair, so knew off the bat that i wasn't going to walk out with perfectly lightened hair. i said this to them at the beginning of the service- i just wanted a lighter canvas to apply my color to, so this did not matter to me. what i didn't expect was to walk out with an uneven cut (at LEAST a centimeter longer on one side, and very noticeable) and the absolute WORST lightening job of my life. not only was the cut uneven but the bleach was too- allll the way around my head. one side is bleached to the corner of my eye, the other side is above my eyebrow. i have done better myself with 0 experience as a stylist. without frying it either (which unfortunately i did have actual chunks fall out after this service). maybe the student wasn't used to lightening away from the root- fine. but the teachers lack of oversight (she was more concerned about watching another student do a simple blowout) is what really got me. she barely checked in, i think twice during the service, the second time at the very end, to which she said "well.. it'll blend when you put the color in". ????? blend WHERE girl. (spoiler alert: it did not blend), and i am now having to spend an actual fortune to get this corrected. additionally, the student was more attentive to what other stylists were doing and her personal cellphone the entire time than what she was doing to my hair. she repeatedly dropped foils on the ground and still used them on my hair. she scratched her own scalp and stomach and didn't wash her hands before going back to my hair. she RIPPED through my hair with a circular bristle brush while it was wet and freshly bleached (thought it was kind of basic common knowledge that you should be gentle on hair in this state but i guess not??). you can see how sparse my hair is after this experience in the photos- my hair wasn't exactly the healthiest (hence needing a cut) but it was FULL when i walked in there. disappointed is an absolute understatement, i am still DEVASTATED (and furious) literally weeks later. if someone from management could contact me- that'd be great.

I do not have any children attending the school, but my experience with JA here has given me a unique opportunity to observe the students, teachers and staff at St Emily. One would be hard pressed to find a school that could offer a better experience for their child than St Emily's does. The teachers and staff are caring individuals who are clearly dedicated to the education and welfare of the students. It is evident in viewing the organization of the classrooms and the demeanor of the students that everyone there is dedicated to ensuring that students grow and learn. The school emits a positive atmosphere that is most evident in watching the interaction among students and staff. Disrespect is seldom seen here. And one thing that really amazes me is when I see older students communicating with younger students in a caring, interested manner. On numerous occasions I have seen older students asking the younger ones how they are doing or feeling and the students carrying on peer to peer conversations regardless of their age or grade differences. "Bullying" just isn't part of the process or vocabulary here. For me, this school is the closest to the education I received in the public schools in Oak Park many years ago - an education I have treasured all my life. And while the teachers can knock their socks off trying to educate their students, credit also needs to go to the parents for the positive atmosphere too - manners and discipline start in the home! So thumbs up to the entire St. Emily family - you're doing a fantastic job f or the future of the children at your school.
