My aunt had her empty laundry baskets on a cart, and after a large military laundry order came in the owner threw her baskets into another cart and then the whole cart itself, into a machine. When she approached him and asked why, he began using expletives with her and told her if she didn't like it to leave. She asked him who he thought he was talking to her like that, and he got even more aggressive in his tone/body language, and told her he would "throw her ass out." He continued to rant and swear at her, to the point that she felt uncomfortable so she called the police. Upon arrival they initially told her she would have to leave, but then told her she could finish her laundry but not to return, which obviously she would not. My aunt is 60, my mother is 56. Whatever was causing this man distress yesterday did not warrant his ignorant and obnoxious behavior. I would strongly caution people from patronizing his laundromat as the owner clearly has an anger problem, who knows how far he would have escalated it if the police hadn't come.

I have been going to Main street Laundromat for many years now and never had a problem until last…read moreweek. I had recently dropped my Brooks Brothers suit pants off to be dry cleaned while I was doing my laundry. I came back a few weeks later and the girl at the desk said she couldn't find them. I waited patiently for the owner to come in the next day ad I called and asked him. To my dismay, he said that they had lost them. I was disappointed. Then out of the blue, Brian the owner says to me that I shouldn't worry. I was confused. I asked him calmly what we should do. He replied, "don't worry, I got your back." This concerned me because I had a situation in which I needed a full suit on that upcoming Friday. So he said he would look once more and if he couldn't find anything "suitable" to replace it with, he would replace them himself. I assumed that this was not true since customer service is dead. Well, the following day came and I called with reluctance expecting to hear some type of avoidance technique because you just can't replace a suit pants without replacing the suit jacket as well. After all, they are a matching pair. So he picked up the phone and said come on down. As soon as I got there, he said to get in his car and we actually went to Brooks brothers in the outlet mall in Tannersville and he replaced the pants with the exact pants that matched the suit, brand new from the retail store themselves. What an amazing owner!! I am often complaint about customer service being dead, but Main Street Laundromat has changed my opinion of businesses on Main st, in Stroudsburg, and I am so impressed by the owner' s amend to the situation that I had to post this awesome review of the laundry service at 514 Main st. Pros - Nice and clean, convenient location and machines…read morewere nice, quick and cleaned clothes well. Coin machine and laundry detergent dispenser. They offer a service to wash and fold your clothes if needed. Bathroom inside and air condition works well. Plenty of baskets to use and a good amount of tables to fold clothes on. Cons - Out of the 4 cheaper washing machines ($2.75), only 1 was working which forced you to use the more expensive washing machines ($4.25) if you wanted to do more than 1 load at the same time. Dryers don't have a display to let you know how much time is allotted to each quarter until you press start. Weird characters came in and out to use the bathroom not the laundromat. In conclusion, I would feel safer using this place during the day. The machines are well maintained, and wash and dry your clothes well. I just find it a little pricey and the cheaper machines need to be fixed. Cute decorations.
