I have been at this health centre along with my wife for around a year and I will be changing, but it is the consistent appalling service that has prompted me to come here and write a review.
Firstly the reception staff are extremely rude, they somehow have the idea that they can talk to people as they please, be abrupt and unpleasant and just down right rude. The certainly do not have patient care on their agendas. In fact their agendas seem to centre around stopping you making an appointment or stopping you from speaking to or seeing a GP, and generally just being difficult. And I dont know why they insist on asking you what the problem is. Does anyone want to discuss their illness with a receptionist??? I dont think so.
The waiting times here are ridiculous, sometimes up to two weeks for an appointment, they seem to get prescriptions wrong and didnt even tell my wife (who has a long term illness) that she could save money by getting a prescription card. A year later this has come from someone in boots of all places who recognised that she is getting 4 prescriptions per month and could have saved herself a lot of money.
The doctors are not any better, arrogant and rude(especially the Scottish guy who I have also heard from friends was the reason they left the health centre) and they all seem to be more concerned with money than patient care.
Is this what the NHS has come to? We all knew it was bad but this is beyond the joke really. These doctors treat us like a nuisance when we PAY for their services, I work hard and pay a lot of tax and NI and I expect better treatment.
I wrote one complaint letter to the practice manager and didnt even receive a reply so this time my complaints will be lodged with Devon PCT. read more
