I was taken to st anns due to difficulty in breathing. I was admitted do to pneumonia. What we didn't know was that I had severe sepsis. And was not tested for that for 3 days. One thing about me is that I'm a pain patient. So I take several pain pills throughout the day. I can honestly say is triple pneumonia is very painful, and they were not giving me anything for pain. I was not being monitored, and I had a tube in my chest pulling out infection. My family was shocked at the lack of care I was receiving.I can honestly say if my family had been there, I'm not sure if I would stay be here. I could be writing all day to go through everything. By day 7, I was finally put in ICU. The lack of care I had, I stopped breathing. So I had to be intubated. By day 3 in ICU I was starting to get better. By day 5 they were able to uninitibate. So I was finally able to breathe alot better. And covered in bruises. My experience there was so bad I will never go there as long as I'm conscious.

My wife had fallen on the ice and snow and here we are at St. Ann's Hospital in the Fast Track

No one wants to be in a hospital, so it always seems negative - but try out some inpatient stays at other Columbus hospitals and you'll notice a difference.

As a patient I'm already stressed and I have several health issues and to be inconvenienced does not allow for me to be a "happy" patient. If I do everything in my power to be responsible and show up on time. I do have the right to expect quality service. To boot when I brought my husband for an ER visit and they kicked me out of the room when I'm his wife. They did not ask nicely! I'm stressed because I had to bring my husband in for heart issues it only takes a moment to be kind. So I scheduled my yearly mammo. I get a lovely text telling me the where and when etc. I arrive 15 minutes as requested. The text I received said to go to suite 230! So I go up there the offices are closed and there isn't anyone at a desk or anything. So I have to come back downstairs and ask where to go. I asked nicely but got some pushback.

He had been having pain for a week on and off and then it took a turn for the worse. He started vomiting. He felt slightly better so we went to the family doctor instead of straight to an ER. We got right in and everything seemed to be going well. They came and did an ultrasound. Then he was admitted. (Yes AFTER THEY DID THE ULTRASOUND) We waited for over 2hours for the results of the ultrasound even though we were told it wouldn't be more than an hour. With testicular torsion, every minute counts. We were told results from the ultrasound sound were negative. (Thankfully) They were going to send us home with a pain medication rx and a referral to a urologist if things don't clear up. I had to tell the dr that things aren't going to get better for him. They've only been getting worse this whole week. What else can we do? The Dr was a little frustrated with me and said well we can run some blood work and do a CT SCAN. If that doesn't work we can send him to the ER. We decided to go with that option. The tech was new and came to draw blood. Blood started squirting everywhere. They got it under control but I never want to see the inside of these walls again. It's nice and new, but that's where it's good side ends. We waited for well over two more hours for those results. Dr came in and said tests were inconclusive. No elevated white blood cells, no kidney stones, nothing. They could send us to the hospital ER, but no one would probably see us there tonight. So we took our referral and went home. This was late on a Friday. Monday morning rolls around. Call into urology and get in to see a nurse practitioner. She lets us know that there are cysts and his white blood cell count was elevated. She believes that the cysts are infected. The Dr at the ER had told us that they were not elevated. The NP showed us on his chart that not only were they elevated, but that they were highlighted yellow on the chart while we were at the ER! If I would've known what we know now, I would've skipped this place altogether. This is NOT an EMERGENCY ROOM. There's nothing urgent about this place, except that it should be shut down. This is a disgrace of a "medical facility". How Ohio Health lets it have their name attached is beyond me. They should be ashamed. This is a cash cow for them and you will be treated as such. We will avoid this place and every other free standing EMERGENCY room from now on. This place is a joke and unfortunately the joke was on us at the price of my son's health and our wallet.

Here is why: Whole trip was from 5:50 pm-8:10pm Have you been to other ER/EDs.... ? Oh they are awful. This was new, clean and efficient. I have been to OSUs ED only to encounter people waiting to be seen from the night before. So to seen right away was impressive. To have access to a doctor within 5 min for what I was presenting was ideal. I presented with blurred vision, severe headache, and loss of sensation on a limb PCD sent me there to be screened for stroke. Im an ex athlete so have had my share of injuries, have had a neck injury that causes these symptoms but am also a cardiac patient so whenever this presents- off to an ER I must go. The staff here was better than OSUs ER and faster than St Anns. I was also presenting stomach pain sonthis doc did what my PCP did not - he cat scanned me and got right to the heart of what was causing much of the issue -an ulcer. If you do go there fingers crossed you get the two nurses named Christa/Krista and Dr Falk. All excellent.

Didn't make an appointment beforehand because honestly, I wasn't sure how long it would take me to get there or what shape I would be in or if I'd have to have my wife drive me. Made it, walked in, and was immediately put off. They make you check in standing up at a kiosk. They make sick people stand up and go through a bunch of screens on a kiosk. I am already in their system, and still their information was not up-to-date. And then when I went to search for my doctor, he was not in the system, even though he is indeed in the system. And, the wait for a walk-in was 2 to 3 hours out. Look, staff were great: the one person, who showed up partway in and realized I was frustrated with the screen. Nobody else in the kiosk lobby. I called my doctor, who was out that day but they were able to schedule me at another urgent care sooner than I would've gotten in at this place. I'm pretty happy with OhioHealth in general. My last straw was midway through a trial of a medication (one of the ones which they didn't have enough samples of- so round two of attempting this medicine now) I call to schedule my follow up and "We're not contracted with your insurance anymore". I say last straw because for the right medical staff I would pay the out of network fees. They genuinely listen when you tell them something is wrong or explain what is going on. I had both of my children with this practice. The front desk staff is always friendly and quick to return calls. Unfortunately, as with most medical practices - the practice can't be defined just by the doctors. When it comes to obstetrics for prenatal care and delivery, it's a fairly great experience. The gynecological and post delivery experiences are not as smooth. There has been more than one occasion where it comes across when trying to tell them something is wrong, they don't listen unless you push. Personally, my reproductive health is not something I'm willing to take a chance on with staff not listening. Overall though, the majority of the staff is very friendly, it's a clean place, and great for OB care - my drop in rating comes down to lack of the same attention or concern for detail on the gynecology side.
