The first time we used Bowens Roofing it was to fix a roofing leak. While there, they addressed an…read moreissue we had with black sediment settling on an inside bedroom beam from a soil pipe leak. For years this was misdiagnosed. It was Bowens roofing that corrected the problem. The second time we called Temple, the Office Manager at Bowens, it was to help with a skylight water leak and missing shingle. Unrelated to this issue, we were getting bids from chimney company's to repair a chimney leak. Estimates were coming in as high as $40K. The cost was too high, so we were prepared to have Eric, from Bowens, tear down the chimney. Instead Eric called in his chimney pro. They determined the problem and fixed it. In the end we were able to keep the chimney. Our total cost was less than $6K. I highly recommend Bowens. The team is honest and more interested in a long-term relationship vs a short-term gain.

This company does not stand behind its work!…read more We hired the company replace the roof on house and attached porches. It failed to install a necessary saddle to deflect water so that it did not pool or leak at Chimney. Later said its proposal did not include that device, although request was for a roof that would not leak. It leaked! We had it repaired and the device installed by another company. Bowens would not reimburse for this obviously necessary device. Worse, without looking at the ceiling first to assess needs, the company installed shingles over the screened porch using long straight nails that penetrated the ceiling and ruined it, leaving exposed nails throughout as well as chunks falling out of the wooden ceiling. It took weeks to get Bowen to even come to the house and then the owner belligerently refused to do anything to repair the damage or cover the cost of our doing it. He referred to the manufacturers warranty. Apparently this company thinks that the only interest a customer has is in the shingles themselves and not the workmanship or method used to install them! The company did not advise us in advance that the product they intended to use and the nails to install would do this damage. Had they done so, we would have either not hired them or simply not had the porch roof replaced, as it was not the area where we had pressing need for a new roof. Attached is a picture of the ceiling on our porch AFTER the installation of the new roof. It looked totally fine before Bowens installed the roof.

Reputable businesses answer by identifying themselves -- "Good Afternoon, thank-you for calling (business name). How may I help you?" Second, once I explained the scope of the work I wanted done, I went through setting up an appointment with him. Well, he never called, never came by to give me an estimate. I took the afternoon off work to stay home to meet him, but he was a total no-show. This guy is running an unreliable, unprofessional business. He wasted my time and will probably waste yours as well. This NOT who you want to call or have working around your house, IF he even shows up!
