As a frequent traveler I appreciate a comfortable hotel bed and close proximity to everything to keep me self-sufficient. Motel One has just that. I was in town for a wedding and, with a weekend full of activities, I was happy to be lodging in a place that I could walk to all the touristy spots, be a stone's throw from shopping and cuisine, and easily grab a cab to all the events we were attending. Just great!
A few things:
-No phones in the room so you can't call down if you need something, and they can't call you. Normally this would not matter, but, for my trip, the card I originally booked the hotel on was canceled and I needed to provide a new one. The front desk actually brought a letter up to the room to inform me. It was kind of funny!
-No washcloths. Maybe this is a Scotland thing, but it was quite strange using the same soap as shampoo and body wash, and having to do it with your hands.
-The views. Awesome if you have a perimeter room, but nonexistent if you are on the interior. See if you can get a room with a view - it's well worth it!
-A lobby that serves food 24 hours. This is key if you find that you've had way too many Innis & Gunn's at Whistle Binkies or CC Blooms.
