I saw all the 5 stars on Google so we took a chance and drove 3 additional hours with a screaming cat (he hates traveling) to stay here-WORTH IT! I literally have nothing bad to say about this place. The AC was working and kept the room COLD. It was clean, no mold anywhere, no busted light fixtures, and well-maintained. This is a solid hotel and I would highly recommend anyone to stay here!! Great price too. Pets are accepted and welcomed. LOTS of parking. I felt very safe here. read more

I gave 3 stars because of an experience we had with them, not because of the motel itself. We reserved a room through Priceline but when we got there they said they did not have a reservation for us. I showed the email confirmation but they said they had been sold out since earlier that day and we should have never been able to make the reservation in the first place. We had to find another motel that night and were charged by priceline for the room. I have disputed this with my credit card company and they asked me to get an email confirmation from Motel 6 in Percival to provide proof we did not stay at this motel that night. I spoke to Twila, the manager who ended up telling me that her Franchise Agent said they are not allowed to get involved. I asked for his number to try to explain the situation and she refused to give it. She said she would call him and give him my number but she doubted he would return my call. I find this to be very rude to not be able to just get a confirmation email that we were not able to use the reservation. Motel 6 got their money for that room, and we were charged from priceline. I filed a complaint with BBB hoping to get some resolution. read more

Review for my stay 9/23-9/24 2022. The good: It is conveniently located right off I-29. The rooms are actually pretty nice for a budget hotel. The furnishings are basic but again, this is a budget hotel. There was some kind of event/fair in Nebraska City which caused the hotels there to be priced at $200+ per night. This Motel 6 price was much less, which I did appreciate. There's a Wendy's right next door and also trucks stops so you can fuel up and get some coffee, snacks, etc. The bad: The 3 truck stops are fairly close. I could hear semi traffic on occasion, including jake brakes. This is a no frills hotel. There was a community coffee machine in the small lobby. There was a mini fridge in the room and that was it. The bathroom is extremely small. Opening the door, it barely misses hitting the toilet. This appears to be a hotel frequented by work crews as I saw several guys in construction type clothing the night I got there and the morning I left. I woke up at 6AM. At 6:15AM, someone walked the entire length of the hallway blasting loud music. They returned at 6:25AM and did it again. I kind of wonder if this was a work crews' way of waking up their workers....who knows. If I had been asleep, it would have ruined my morning. I'm sure it did ruin some peoples' mornings. Being honest, this hotel would be a last resort stay for me in the future (like it was this time). There was nothing really horrible about it but, for double what I paid, you can usually get a hotel with a much better room, a really nice breakfast, better surroundings and a few other options that makes it worth it for me and my family. read more

This room was filthy. Coffee rings from a cup on the night stand thst had not been wiped off. There was dirty towels from the last person on the wall hook!. Tv was on when we got into the room? A reminder to staff and management there can be no discrimination in rooms because of a service dog according to ADA rules. Even at that a room designated as a "pet room" should at least be clean. Clerks get funny looks on their faces when faced with a service dog and what room to give. 1 star for a decent bed and nice sized fridge. read more

Not Happy!!!! I called two weeks in advance and asked for a downstairs room so I would not have to take the stairs because I have hip problems. The lady said no problem and said she reserved one for me. When I arrived, it had been given away to someone else, and only upstairs rooms were left. I had to take the room and had to go up the stairs twice to haul my things. Unfortunately, no one offered to carry it up because they gave my room away. The gals were nice enough to bring me hot water, so I did not have to go downstairs again to get it. After settling in, I started to notice how dirty the room was.. I took a washcloth and wiped the floor(as seen in the pictures) just below the sink and the bathroom door; you can see how dirty a 16X16" square area I wiped with the cloth was. I was going to shower, but I decided the tub shower was a little dirty... you can see whatever they sprayed had dripped down the sides of the tub and was not wiped and cleaned... the fixtures looked terrible also. I tried to cool down the room, but I could not get it to cool much, so I had to open the window. When leaving in the morning, I explained to the lady at the desk what my experience was while showing her the pictures, and all she said with a smile was, I am sorry, HUN do you want a printed receipt!!! I chose this place because of the good reviews, and I have no clue why they have them. If I could have given it a negative star review, I would have... I have stayed at many Motels through the past 45 years, and This is the second one of all that I would not EVER leave a good review to anyone. read more

My husband and I rolled through town after 26 hours of driving, and felt so safe in this town. We stopped by for gas then it developed to getting a hotel room right here. We're moving and had a rental truck with a car carrier, we had problems backing out from their front parking lot and someone offered to do it for us! Turns out this man was the General Manager of the Motel 6! We tried to get a room, but everything was booked to the MAX. But Dan let us wait in the lounge while he got a room all cleaned for us. He booked us in earlier than the typical time, and was tremendously helpful! We even received discounts at a nearby gas station and restaurant! (Food was VERY tasty, I recommend the pancakes!) Overall, STAY HERE! I never felt such kindness from hotel/motel staff as here! They made us feel truly welcomed. The room was clean, right close to the 29 Interstate, and they have a neat little arcade with a billiards table and foosball table! Thank you, Dan Christo!!! The evening service was great for getting into a room. I arrived there at 7:00 p.m. and hoped to fall asleep early so that I could get an early start to my day. There was SO MUCH NOISE that I could not sleep. Kids yelling, dogs barking, stomping and banging over my head until almost midnight!! My room was right across from the guest laundry and there were people in there at all hours. Light came under the door, so I had to put one of their tiny towels in front to block out the light. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE!! If I chance to travel this way again, I will leave this hell of a mess OFF of my itinerary!!! 0 stars!! read more

Newly updated. Cleaner than majority of the motel 6's I've been to. No pool, but the area was converted into an arcade. Two beds averaged 70/night with tax. Not much to do in the area: truck stop next door, gas station, a Wendy's and a vintage antique mall. read more

This was a quick stop on a long journey. The price is great! The room was very clean, love the " no carpet" aspect. The two star rating is because the beds were horrible. A cardboard box would have been more comfortable!! The TV did not work. We could get it to turn on, would not change channels and the volume control didn't work. When I first got here, boy, was I surprised. I mean, this place was nothing like the other motel 6's I've stayed in. I usually stay in high end hotels, like the Marriott or Hilton. I have only stayed in one motel 6 before and it was a nightmare but I really had to go number 2, so desperate times call for desperate actions. When I left the motel, I desperately needed lotion because my hands were dry so I asked the general manager, Daniel Christo, if he had any to spare. He handed me a whole bottle of lotion. So, basically, this guy was a life saver. Thank you. Also, the only bad thing I would say about this motel is the (public) bathroom on the first floor needs to be cleaned better. read more

Clean rooms, pet friendly, large game room, great service, near a few gas stations, a restaurant , subway, And a Wendy's. not to mention at super great price ! Only down side is the hallway ( on the first floor where I was) smelled like cigarettes, but the rooms do not smell at all. This hotel is perfect for someone looking for something off the highway in the middle of the night, which is exactly what I needed. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the rate was reasonable especially considering we were in the middle of nowhere. They have a continental breakfast that I skipped in order to go to the caribou coffee next door, but it didn't look bad. read more

This motel has a great price but unfortunately you can hear all the doors closing and opening in the hall which makes it difficult to sleep.

After checking in at the front desk, we went up to the room. Either the maid service doesn't believe in checking the lights or they pull out all of the power cords for every light in the room. There was no remote for one of the TVs. The pool room looked like it had not been cleaned in several days, food laying around. My wife also stepped on an ear ring left in the pool by someone. I was also not really impressed with the breakfast buffet and we decided not to eat there our second morning. The wifi was turned on, but didn't work. read more

I come to stay at this hotel every year with my grandma for Memorial Day. Our original reservation was for a room with one bed, but we were hoping to switch to a double if possible. When we got to the hotel, the woman working was VERY helpful and understanding and within just a couple minutes had a new room for us, and was incredibly hospitable. She was very cheery and didn't seem the least bit annoyed to fix a mistake that WE made. (She also offered us the wifi password right away haha) Our room was non-smoking, and I couldn't smell any smoke in the halls or anywhere near our room, which can sometimes be a problem at small hotels that offer smoking rooms. I was disappointed to find that they have recently replaced the pool with a game room, but seeing that I was only here for the weekend, it wasn't a big deal to me. The room was clean, but the fridge was not working. The TV had SO MANY channels; I've never been in a hotel with that many free channels. The beds weren't the most comfortable I've slept in, but I slept through the night regardless. The complimentary breakfast wasn't very substantial, just some cereal, toast, coffee, orange juice, and waffles. All in all, definitely a good place right off the highway, good for a night or a weekend, definitely worth the low price. read more

Who would've thought that on a cross country trip, Percival Iowa would be my favorite among our rest stops for the night (and thats including a stay at a Hilton). Dog friendly, Affordable price, surprising wide selection of television channels, friendliest staff you could ask for and has a great partnership with surrounding businesses for discounts.
