As you drive onto the campsite there are sacks of logs for you to buy - because here you can actually have a proper campfire(in the allocated fire circles. The site is a couple of large fields, a pond with a small kiddies playing area, a well maintained shower block and nothing much else. Set in the most idyllic out of the way place (although theres a couple of small pubs a short walk away). I live about 15 miles from here, and we often pack our tents after work and pop down here to spend the night chatting and relaxing round a campfire. Brilliant

After sales service is excellent. I recently had difficulty fitting newly purchased microspikes to my boots. I emailed the shop and in spitee of lockdown, Mr Rathbone immediately contacted me with helpful fitting advice and offered to change them if I still had difficulty. Parking is available in the new shopping centre and blacks is within walking distance of the train sation and buses passes the door frequetly. They have excellent staff with good knowledge regarding all products in the shop and of the outdoors. The service you receive is excellent but honest as they do say what they think would be most sutiable which may not suit the customer. They have a good choice of footware and clothing with varraying prices to suit all budgets. The only downside is the shop seems a little to cramed in with stuff with it being a small shop.
