The conversations were all great. Talks about everything from wines and liquors and beers to travel and transportation, to sports and games then restaurants and food. Just all around great experience. The beer, Waldhaus, was one of the best beers I've ever had. Really a great introduction to German beers for me. They also have a number of liquors and liqueurs and offer all types of cocktails. I believe they have wine. I always had beer here. This was a great place with great beer and great companionship. What more can you ask for? They have some games. They allow smoking. It can get a little loud when they place is full. It is a must see place when you are in Baden Baden.

I stopped in recently with a couple of locals while there visiting their hometown. It was late by American standards but an early night for French (9 PM), and we were one of only two parties there when we arrived. It didn't take long though before the place filled up. Service was attentive, and we ordered a round of drinks before reaching for the trivial pursuit. If you have a mastery of the French language, you can likely still do well at the game. The questions are broad and diverse enough that even this American did pretty well when pitted against two hommes français. The place was buzzing by the time we left around midnight. This is the perfect watering hole in Haguenau and worth a stop while you're in the area!
