I now wish I would have continued this same approach for my 2024 taxes. My original intent was to work with the tax firm of Teresa A. Ferruzzo, CPA, LLC, however in January, 2025 I was informed this firm would merge with abip CPAs & Advisors. Terri was the principal I worked with going forward. Once my form was prepared and completed I did a quick check and discovered a major mistake. Using a $50 tax software I could see they had failed to calculate the reduction of my taxable retirement distributions on form 8806. Hence my refund should have been twice as high. Terri seemed to suggest this was a programming issue and would get it fixed. A month later I get an invoice for $2,500. By comparison my brother's tax preparer charged him $350, and his taxes required slightly more work than my own. Terri said they would reduce it to $2,000 which is still 5 times more than my brother's. Terri said a new invoice would be submitted the next day but never came. Six weeks later I get a reminder notice that my invoice was still open even though the company never sent me a revision. The collection manager said there was an apparent breakdown in communication. It is my own fault for not getting a better sense of what I would be paying beforehand, and I will chalk it up as an expensive lesson.

This is central to my thinking when it comes to writing reviews today. This is a beautiful building that is circular and very eye-catching and seems to stand alone in this part of Houston, and it's absolutely gorgeous. I'm proud of it being part of the Westchase skyline, and it offers amazing visuals, and hopefully nobody builds anything around it to mess it upm because it's a little bit of a barren stretch of Westheimer, and it punctuates the monotony with a very gorgeous building.
