This is a great club to come to in theory, 3 floors with different kinds of music all appealing to me. The drinks are reasonable. It's not too packed. But I am living in the past. I remember Mosquito Coast. I remember Bar Gaudi, which has been annexed by the club. Back then was probably the last time I bought a Cassette (yescassette) or turned on the radio too. I am woefully out of touch and didn't know the music. It sounded like I would like it, given a chance. Still it is a very good venue and is probably better in its current incarnation. read more

Mosh is pretty good for a rock club. As far as rock clubs go. All the usual stuff you get when you go to any other rock club in the UK: metal floor, punk floor and chart music floor - but the crowd seem a friendly bunch (if you don't go too often, that is!) It's a safe bet if you want to go to a club after hours but you haven't made the effort for those places that are a bit pretencious. Mosh is down to earth - which suits me. Good drink promos, it's a bit same-y week on week but at least you know what you are getting! read more

Quite a new place to go out to on Friday and Saturday nights, they have a range of music so it will suit most peoples tastes. Nice to go out to when you're in a group and you can get some odd people in there, but on the whole a nice place. read more

Went the other week, really enjoyed myself. There was a great selection of music over three floors. I loved having the choice, though I kept to the indie, it was good to wander. This has to be the best rock venue in Leicester. The club is spread over 3 floors, which all play a different genre of music on different nights. The best floor is the basement, which is called Gaudie Bar, and is just beautiful - its set up like a converted church with stain glass windows and gargoyles on the walls. Tuesday nights they have an open mike down there and the bands are normally really good. The middle floor is average Indie, apart from on a Friday night when its hard core metal, its normally empty and an awesome night out as you have the dance floor, bar and DJ pretty much to yourself, so nothing gets in the way of enjoying the music. The atmosphere's amazing as thats exactly what everyone is there to do. The top floor is best on a Tuesday night when its drum and bass night, but the rest of the week is pretty good too, as this floor has the largest dance floor. Tuesday night is the stuent night, and drinks are all really cheap. Most people go to Gaudi Bar for pre-drinks and then upstairs to party. But Wednesday night and Friday night are really good too. read more

Started going here a few months back, and never had a problem any of the times I've been. Okay, top floor on saturdays there can be one or two people that get a bit pushy and shovey, but nothing thats not handled. Cheap drinks and great music, especially bottom floor on Fridays. Friendly people in there, even when you fall over in a mosh pit everyone is quick to help you up! Much better night than the likes of Republic, Liquid etc.. Safer too! read more

This is by far the worst staff I have ever had the displeasure of associating myself with. A friend and I travelled from Northampton, a journey which took four hours and should have taken one hour. We arrive with enough time to find this place which was recommended to me and with enough time to have a meal at the Wetherspoons close by along with a pint each. We finished with enough time to wait for the place to open for about 15 minutes only to be told to stand to the side and "sober up" although we had one beer each. This happened to a few other people besides us during the time we waited to talk to someone who would act like a grown up and not answer with "sober up" to everything we had to say. If you visit just hope you don't have a drunk resting face because apparently the staff are psychic and can smell it when an individual is intoxicated. I have never dealt with more rude and inconsiderate staff in my life. How they keep their jobs is beyond me. read more

I was in the cue here on 14/02/2014 and the SIA official said, 'you're not coming in!', in a belligerent, rude and aggressive tone. When I asked what I had done to warrant being spoken to in this way the person in question was rude to me in an antagonistic fashion; offered no explanation and accused me of 'having a bad attitude'. This really upset me and was uncalled for; fair enough I had consumed a few drinks but there would have been no harm in saying, 'not tonight mate'; 'come back tomorrow'; or, 'have a coffee and come back later'. I was not being aggressive or hostile, quite the contrary I was silently stood in the cue minding my own business. I was under the impression that SIA officials should treat people with respect and not provoke arguments or confrontation. I have worked in the customer service industry for many years and understand that there is a right and wrong way of dealing with the public; in a multitude of situations. Incidentally I met two acquaintances on this evening who stated that this particular SIA official had criticised their friends attire (despite allowing her to enter) and had tried to antagonise them. They then added that they believed that this staff member had a 'bad attitude'. To conclude I believe that this SIA official wished to provoke a confrontation, which I believe is the mirror opposite of an SIA official's role. The person in question was shaven headed and in his mid thirties. read more

I recently learned that one requirement to visit Mosh in Leicester is the willingness to expose yourself to every single person who may be using the toilets at the moment you do no matter how many or how few that may be. Certainly, one can understand that a nightclub may have difficulties ensuring that all cubicle doors are lockable when so many guests are visiting, and a reasonable guest will be willing to compensate for that. Unfortunately, it turns out that keeping a cubicle door closed in order to maintain your privacy is an eviction-worthy event in this nightclub, and therefore Mosh cannot be recommended to anyone with any sort of decency. Of course, it is entirely possible that the event in question was due to the bouncer responsible for the event being an acquaintance of the person who first tried to kick open the door that could not be locked, and that said bouncer chose to act outside the usual policies of the nightclub in order to justify his own actions and those of his friend. Until Mosh can make a statement on this, however, it is my recommendation that potential visitors take into account the possibility that they may need to use a cubicle, and the possibility that any single guest of the club may choose to attempt to kick down the cubicle door and thereby require the unfortunate guest to expose themself to all and sundry under the apparent policies of the nightclub Mosh. read more

It's tough to give 3* to a club which serves pints in proper pint glasses sub £3, but the acoustics really tore my ears to shreds the last few times. Mosh is the only club I go to in leicester because acceptable music outnumbers shite 2:1 (I'm talking to you bottom floor). Mosh opened in late 2003 as Leicester's only real alternative to the Fanclub for an indie kid's night out. Given the Fanclub's long-held dominance, Mosh has flourished really impressively, with a large regular crowd of hipsters, metallers, goths, geeks and everyone else who's just out for a good time. On my many visits I've never once seen anyone get violent, on the contrary everyone just seems to be enjoying themselves. Prices are reasonable, the clientele and staff are lovely. Particularly good on Fridays. read more

I used to really like this club, but now everytime I go to there it gets worse and worse. To start with, the music is ok on friday nights (which is the only time I go, as the music on the other nights just sucks in my opinion) the bottom floor and middle floor play good music to a certain extent except they won't play heavy music later on at the night such as bring me the horizon etc what's all that about? The thing that I really hate about mosh now is the people to be honest. The past 2 times I went there I've been punched square in the face and pushed into my mates nose where I broke mine, and he had a massive gash on his. The people aren't very friendly and it ruins it A year ago I used to love this place so much, but now (since I live in Worcester due to Uni) I'd rather go to Velvet in Worcester which is a MILLION times better better music, better DJ's (Johnny Doom from Kerrang! Radio :D) and a way more friendly crowd. read more

Different music, not the kind I'd listen to at home but refreshing. There is a good atmosphere in terms of the way people act towards one another. The floors are still sticky and the coke flat, but I don't really care Im enjoying myself too much. read more
