But I leave this hotel with a good experience. Not only because it was a major relief for my pregnant hormone infested girlfriend, but also because of feeling genuine welcome and taken care of. Hotel Woiński SPA is a 4-star wellness hotel located by a lovely lake on the outskirts of the Polish city Lubniewice. It opened only 5 months ago (december 2012) and the interior is shining! Swimming pool, hot tubs, 3 different saunas and a beautiful salt cave. My girlfriend and I had booked a 3 night special for 176€ each. It included breakfast and dinner with drinks, an oil massage, a mineral bath and a pedicure for the both of us. A fair warning: they make you wear a man-bikini for the massage (I took it home with me). We had all access to the hotel's wet and hot facilities plus a gym that I managed to avoid. The room itself was what you would expect from a 4-start hotel and we had direct access to a terrace overlooking the lake. My girlfriend and I are strictly speaking vegans but for the ease of it we tend to go vegetarian when we travel. And this is where our stay fell a little short. I know Polen is not know for their vegetarian cuisine but a bag of frozen vegetables mixed with undercooked risotto is not an excuse for a 4-star (wellness!) hotel. To be fair the other guests looked quite pleased with their food. The absolute highlight of our stay was the staff. They made sure that we felt welcome and taken care of. Not in that over polite way but in a comfortably friendly way. We were also happy to find that they spoke english. And the few that didn't either had exceptional body language or spoke german. All in all. Hotel Woiński Spa is a great place to kick back and relax even if you're not into pedicures and meat. And in the eyes of this danish reviewer - very affordable. Or simply take it from my german girlfriend: "18€ for a facial?!?!?!"

Beautiful building, decent rooms. Bar/restaurant closes too early by international standards. The small town it is located in is beautiful, but dead, at least in off-season. The hotel staff is very nice, some speak foreign languages like English or German. Breakfast has extended hours and lots of delicious offerings. Good for a few days of massages and spa, but not for stays more than an extended weekend, in my opinion. Secure parking lot is a plus.

Motel might be a misnomer. It is a modern space with reasonable rates in city centers. I believe…read morethere are three branches in Berlin. I chose this one because it is centrally located for a first time visit to the city. It is near transportation and Museum Island. The area was a former Soviet center so expect minimalist austere functionalism. However, it is a great launching point for most attractions with plenty of eateries and shopping nearby. If you want more of a modern city vibe, I would check out lodging closer to the zoo and Tiergarten. Can't give it a five stars even though it is fairly priced. They did not have much toiletries, and the rooms are small. It would be a bit tight for two unless you just crash in the room. I did appreciate having a door size window to peer over the city. The concierge was helpful. There are perks for those who sign up for their member program. It is a popular motel so if you check in late afternoon there is usually a queue.

Plus, it's easy to spot where your hotel is when you're out in Berlin- just look for the Fernsehturm! The rooms were quite small, but we did have a great view of the plaza which made up for it. We would have appreciated a few more hangers to use as between 2 of us we had to split 6 which really was a stretch. There was a safe in the room which we weren't expecting but appreciated. Staff was extremely friendly & helpful. We didn't pay extra for the breakfast since there wasn't anything listed as vegan (or vegan-option) on the website. Our room was extremely warm though, and no turning down of the thermostat seemed to change that. Most nights we slept on TOP of the covers due to the heat.

The hotel is located in a heavily trafficked area but good news is there is a fantastic sunny breakfast area on the first floor--so you don't have to skedaddle in the a.m. looking around the hood--with everything from a cappuccino machine to yogurt, fresh breads, eggs, sausages, cheeses, pate, cereals, juices and fresh fruit. Near check in there is a convenient small cafe with pastries, bread, cake, small pizza, tea or coffee with an airy view and cute seating (picnic table style, indoor and out front.) Again, the staff is uber helpful! For example, they can answer geographic questions in detail --thank you, Dennis!--and sell tram tickets at the front desk. As far as accommodations--here we go, whatcha need to know!--the AC is minimal so expect to sweat a lot in your dorm sized room. The WiFi is ridiculously slow--if it works at all--at 4.5 (compared to 120 in Texas). There is no instruction sheet on how to set the thermostat or what time breakfast is at or if there is an ice machine (there isn't one, btw.) No hot pot or coffee mugs. No in room fridge. No tub (the photos online display one) but the small shower in your private bath is pretty decent. The bed IS comfy with large screen tv directly across on wall. Our view was an enclosed green space area with no access to the traffic or big city buildings--yay! Quite relaxing! So if you are wanting a hip place to chill with minimal amenities--but terrific free breakfast--this is the place for you! Hope this helps in your decision process! Photos included. Ciao!
