If, like me, you ever struggle to choose between about three sandwhich options then you may be liable to be frozen in cant-decide panic at the endless choices presented to you by Abu Bakar! Even the halva section appears to be never ending! They sell a wide selection of vegetables, a broad variety of juices, endless rows of pulses, spices, herbs, cakes, bread, jars of pickled items, huge sacks of rice and flour - possibly aimed at businesses but may be handy if you live in a big house, loads of condiments (including some very mysterious and tantalising items such as a pot of chololate and cherry something...spread?...whose ingredients list was in Polish only). Homeware-wise they have pots, pans, crockery and kitchen utensils. There is also a halal meat counter. As Susan mentions, Abu Bakar is aimed at the Aisian community, but for anyone like me with boringly British culinary habits it is a fascinating and exciting place of endless possibilities and obscure and intriguing ingredients.

Sitting somewhere between supermarket and corner shop, Abubakar is aimed mostly at the Asian…read morecommunity, with a large selection of Halal meats and more exotic fruits and spices, but it's also a popular spot with local residents and students looking to stock up. They often have good deals on fresh fruit like mangoes, and you can pick up all the ingredients you could possibly need to cook a decent curry from scratch. The staff are really helpful, and the nearby parking means it's ideal if you need to do a large shop but don't want to do the supermarket run. Worth stopping by to check out the huge range of exotic fruit juices - hangover heaven.

Their Morrisons own brand food has really improved, for example their brand of curries are superb. The quality of the fresh produce has also improved, they are now stocking unusual produce and fantastic fresh store baked bread, it has been a great turn around for our local supermarket.

The supermarket has recently undergone many refurbishments in order to be improved. A wide range of…read moreitems can be found here, just as one should expect from a supermarket. There are many tills and many self-service checkout points that can easily be operated, providing that one isn't purchasing something that they may need to use an ID for or purchasing many items at once. However, if one wishes to buy an item which happens to be reduced, they can not use self-service without manually typing in the barcode as it will not present them with the lowest price. Furthermore, the staff who operate the tills also need to manually insert the barcode into the system which holds up the rest of the shoppers. The staff operating the tills, however, do appear to be extremely friendly. I, personally, would suggest fixing this function which, by the way, doesn't only affect reduced items or other "on offer" items but rather other items too occasionally for no apparent reason. The supermarket does serve its own freshly-baked bread and cookies from the bakery. Today, youths were offering tasters of said cookies which lead to me purchasing some. They, too, seemed to be very nice and helpful people. The bakery is sufficient and the produce seems to taste very nice. There is also a Deli here which is a good thing for those who wish to buy fresh meat. The wide range of items sold here means that it's likely that you'll find what you're looking for. Thanks for reading my review. I hope that you have a nice time shopping here.

Otley is not as posh as Ilkley, and so Otley's biggest butcher is not as posh as Ilkley's - but it's just as good in its own way. The prices are slightly cheaper all round because the quality isn't strictly as "high" but I doubt many people could really taste the difference. They stock a surprisingly wide variety of meat, and like all good butcher's, they aren't afraid to dispense with a few secret recipe tips when they hand you your chosen slabs of meat. One thing that puts this butcher's above many others in my book is its homemade pastries - I get a little pork pie every time I'm in Otley from here, and it's glorious every time.

Literally, I spent about an hour on the same street as Weegmans simply browsing the charity shops and it never had a slow moment. That, if nothing else, demonstrates the popularity of a place! They stock all the good cuts that you might be looking for and despite being an indie butchers aren't too expensive. It's so frustrating that the huge supermarket chains have grown to the capacity they have today as it really wipes out the need for such caring indie shops like Weegmans. However, by the sheer number of customers, it's good to see that this hasn't been a problem. As well as all the tasty fresh meat produce they serve hot meat sandwiches, yum if you're not vegetarian, and some of the nicest pork pies around. All in all a total gem.

I have informed them repeatedly but, one of the section leaders just smiled and said "well" when I told them they are knowingly charging the wrong prices. The staff seem unwilling to help even when I've made a complaint. People are bing ripped off, they make no attempt to advise you despite knowing their prices are wrong, the fact that what they are doing is illegal doesn't seem to matter to them.

It's situated in the 'Holt Park Complex', and the Number 96 bus drops you off right outside, which is handy. But it's not very nice inside. I know Big ASDA at Owlcotes is massive and jampacked all the time but at least it's clean and modern. This ASDA wasn't well stocked at all (I wanted a small pack of medium cheddar and some wholegrain mustard, and had to buy a big pack of the cheese and the posh fancy french label mustard because the other ones had sold out). Two members of staff pushed past me while they were chatting without saying sorry, which I found rude and annoying, and there was just a general feeling of neglect and untidiness. The car parking spaces are super teeny too and my parking's pretty dire at the best of times so I found the whole experience offputting. Holt Park ASDA? Booooo.
