Let me start by saying the crew was EXCELLENT. A well oiled machine, professional, meticulous, polite, neat, organized and well prepared with all the right tools and equipment necessary to do the job properly including having the right size and gauge extension cords even bolts made on site to fit every application. Tools were maintained in first class condition not covered with duct tape and bailing wire. I am somewhat of a perfectionist and details drive me crazy not too mention we had a previous installation at another address turn tragic as a result of an accident so I was apprehensive about the upcoming project which consisted of a Dock with an attached walkway as well a small curved Bridge in the front that goes over a Koi Pond. First came the demolition that was done orderly with old boards with nails removed or made safe than stacked separately and removed from the job site. Safety was never sacrificed for the need for speed. The new #1 PT lumber was handled with kid gloves. Nothing was thrown around for sake of expediency during the demolition or new construction. Communications between the crew was exceptional allowing all members of the crew to be on the same page. Every piece of lumber was individually inspected measurements were taken and verified several times, the frame was screwed in place temporarily remeasured then permanently bolted in place. Work order instructions were easy and concise and Jason showed up to review finishing details and clarify any issues. I seldom heard the crew play music but when they did you could barely hear it, funny I've never heard elevator music in spanish before.... it's great! The job site was kept clean and neat at all times. FYI when it wasn't raining the weather conditions were brutally hot. We gave them ice water every hour or so and they were all very polite and appreciative. Attention to detail was excellent and never compromised. I know construction and what you don't see (the frame) is as important as what you do. I read a lot of reviews but never write one, this is a first. This whole experience turned out to be very enjoyable from the sales presentation to the last minute of the installation and cleanup WOW!!!! Perfection. Is six 6 's possible read more

The truth about Morrisson Contractors: They're the kind of people that do what they say they're going to do. Seems like a rare thing in South Florida lately. The Morrisson people also show up every time. This is our 2nd project with Morrisson and my wife and I are very happy. Both projects were finished within budget and on-time. Mike's team, most especially Cheryl, did a great job coordinating all the details. Every interaciton with their team was positive. The owner, Mike, was very accessible and updated us throughout. With a larger family, lots of little kids, we felt good about every single Morrisson employee, all respectful and all on-time. Can't recommend the Morrisson team enough. Very happuy clients and if anyone has any quesitons or would like to speak to an actual customer, feel free to reach out to us at bob@denisonyachting.com. 5-stars both times. -bob and dani denison read more

We had the owner Mike Morrison quote the job and was very impressed with his knowledge, experience and references in the area. We had to have both the seawall rebuilt and all new deck including pilings replaced. Bryanna handled the coordination of the quote, materials, crew and paperwork. Everyone was extremely communicative, great follow up and outstanding work. Unfortunately they had to switch crews which resulted in a slight delay however the new crew knew exactly what needed to be done. The workers were extremely professional, organized and took great pride in their work. read more

Morrison Contractors did an amazing job installing a large new deck and pier with Trex Composite Decking. The crew under their foreman, Luis, was very professional and meticulous. My wife and I recommend them without any hesitation! David M. read more

Morrison Contractors is a HORRIBLE COMPANY. Stay away. The owner, Michael Morrison and his office staff are unprofessional, unknowledgeable and RUDE. After we gave them a substantial deposit, we never heard back from them. After we called and left messages for 2 weeks, they finally returned our call. They had a BAD ATTITUDE. We forced them to return our money. Don't do business with this company. read more

I would have to agree with the other negative review in here. This guy is a number one Jerk. His guys were just great. They built a dock for me, about 8,000 dollars. i referee two people to him, one job was huge! I sent plans over for another job, but he didn't do block work. I then tried to do more work to my dock....two more pilings and some steps, and I couldn't even get him to come over to look at what I wanted to do, basically, it was too small a job for him. Terrible personality. The one crew I had were awesome, he is a jerk. Would never recommend him again. If his company goes under, it will be because of him. read more

I reluctantly have to give Morrison one star. Raphael and his crew did an exceptional job on my deck. This was a big job - $40,000. After a couple of months, one of the joints came apart. I was a terrible eyesore and happened because they used 16-foot planks that warped at the joint terribly. After two unreturned emails, Mike Morrison emailed me to tell me that the problem was not under my guarantee. This was not a minor issue, but a serious mistake in the construction. After a few really rude emails, Mr. Morrison told me "What do you expect. You used the cheapest materials available". This was not his opinion when he bid on the $40,000 job. After more terse emails, his final offer was that he would pay for the materials if I would pay his labor cost. That would mean he was willing to cough up about $20, and I would pay for the rest. I asked him politely if he would like to come out and look at the mess, and he refused. His crew was nothing but professional, and except for this one issue, they did a great job, however I strongly urge you not to do business with this guy. He needs some lessons in customer service read more

Had dock replaced 10 years ago by Morrison. Was sold on Evergrain for dock, was told it would last longer. Last year notice the support beams were starting to rot. Called Morrison and was told whole dock had to be rebuilt for around $5000. I hired another company instead. When they opened my dock they found half of the support beams were not treated lumber and they were the ones that rotted. Cost of replacement was a few hundred dollars. Would not trust this company. read more

I had them come out to my home to give me an estimate on the seawall. I found them to be honest and very knowledgeable and was very happy to find out I didn't need as much work as I thought I did. I would trust them again in the future. read more

We initially hired Morrison to install a boat lift but ended up having Morrison seal our sea wall, build a new dock and install the boat lift and we are extremely pleased with all aspects of the project. From the price to the workmanship we truly feel we got the best! There were a few delays but when doesn't that happen, the end product is what matters. We really love everything that Morrison did for use. They were extremely flexible as our project grew and responded to all our requests and questions. We will use them again and love the work they did for us. Thanks Mike and all the crew! read more

Morrison Contractors, Inc - Love the new dock and boat lift installed by Morrison! Thanks Mike. Love it. - General Contractors Near Me - Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Do not ever use this company!!!! The owner Michael Morrison quoted that my whole dock needed to be replaced when in fact only the surface boards needed replacement. When he followed up on his quote and I told him that I would not be using him because I felt he was running a scam business, this was his "professional" reply "Good luck. I gave you the best information that I could. You are under no obligation to accept it or hire me. I do not appreciate your childish insults either. A scam?? Really? You just don't have any money to do the job" Followed by this when I told him that I would be writing a Yelp review of his company. "Include that I said you're a moron asshole too." Built a 200' Terex dock as well as raised the sea wall 1' all around. From start to finish, they were ultimate professionals and quality craftsmen. I do a lot of my own work because finding craftsmen is difficult. I find myself asking "you do this for a living". Not with Morrisons. The detail and care the crews put into my project have everyone raving about what a beautiful job I received. I highly recommend Mike, his staff and crews. Tim Hager read more

Outstanding craftmanship and quality, by far one of the best companies I have experienced in a long time. Once the city of Fort Lauderdale approved our permit, they put us in their schedule and once they started, our old dock was removed and the new one completed in under a week. I would highly recommend that anyone looking to build or replace their dock, talk to Mike Morrison. Lastly, the construction and materials they use, what you don't see underneath the dock, is exceptional. Not only does our new dock look great, it is built to last, they don't cut any corners, they take pride in their work. read more

I would warn everyone to stay away. I hired Morrison Builders after Mike Morrison quoted the job. I wanted a straight edged top, board on board fence with 4 foot gates that swing in. I was told no problem, special ordered wood, paid the extra, etc. The problems began with posts being set at the property line, which would have put fence over neighbors property. The 1x6 spacing is inconsistent which resulted in the nails not having 1x6 underneath. The correction wasn't to pull apart and space as they should be but to add screws long enough to bridge the gap. The gates weren't plumb or level with the fence and they even used 2 pieces of wood rather than 1 solid piece to clad the gate. Notified Mike that more posts were splitting and nails pulling loose and he has refused to honor his warranty or issue a refund. He now claims I was told the design wouldn't work. Its a simple board on board fence with a 4 foot in-swinging gate. Incorrect spacing, nails pulling loose, gates not hung level or plumb, and splitting wood are all workmanship and material issues. read more

Here is an email that we received from Mike Morrison prior to completion of an over $50,000 job demanding payment. This shows Morrison's true character. Stay away from him. am not sure which one of you is writing this not that it matters. Lyn, I am finished w your project. It has received all the inspections required and it is per the contract. I have taken a total disaster and restored it perfectly. I fought the building dept and won over their code that says retaining walls Could not go on the cap thus saving you about $5000 in pin piling work. I have filled in your yard and planted new grass where weeds were. I leveled and graded your patio where it was a washed out uneven s***** mess. I have gone FAR FAR above and beyond to make your job as good as it is! I WILL NOT TOLERATE YOUR PETTY A** COMPLAINTS about the patio chairs, spilled soda, chicken bones or other stupid crap. It I am sorry for those minor inconveniences. I'm sorry my men need shade and a place to eat while killing themselves to do a good job despite all your complaining. I'm sorry your yard and pool was a mess during this process. It was unavoidable but is now all clean just like any other job site in Florida. . If this job is not paid in full today here is what i am prepared to do for you: I will provide both of your neighbors all of the expert opinions, reports, and engineering that will more than adequately prove that your Seawall and the unstable overloaded upland caused the Seawall failure and subsequent damages to their properties. I will testify under oath that your negligence caused all the damages. How would you like to be paying for TWO MORE SEAWALLS? Yes it was most certainly your wall that caused all that damage and I can prove it! So let's cut the crap. I'll be over at 5:30 to get paid. We shall shake hands and I will go away and keep my mouth shut and you will write an A nice report to Angie's list. Ok? See you at 5:30. Michael Morrison, President Morrison Contractors, Inc. We hired another company and they confirmed that they are thieves and have a horrible reputation, stay away. read more

Our neighbours used Morrison to build their dock several months ago. We live on a residential lake & have been waiting many years for our HOA to approve of this type of structure. When we saw what a nice job Morrison did & heard our neighbours high opinion or their work, we decided to engage them to build ours. Needless to say we are very pleased. So much so that when our daughter bought a home which had a sea wall in need of repairs, we recommended they use Morrison. This company also installed a large fence on her property. They were pleased with the quality of the work as well. In addition, the installation was done by men who were skilled, pleasant, & neat. From happy Silver Lakes homeowners. read more

I am not rating the company as a whole. I am simply rating the crew that did the work, chiefly the work of three men: Ian, Karl, and Woods, although there were two others early on in the project. In a word: Superb! They constructed for us a deck with a pergola, and a dock, here on the Middle River. All three slaved away tirelessly in the heat of summer, worked through rain at times, and yet were real craftsmen when it came to attention to detail. We are very pleased with the outcome. read more

The owner, Mike Morrison, seems ok at the beginning while providing a quote for dock construction, but once you sign the contract everything goes bad. There was no activity for a long time and when I inquired about the delay I was given excuse after excuse. He especially liked to blame the permit issuance. He seems to have a vicious anti-government attitude, which is fine, but he used my project as a way to argue with the permitting people. When I inquired directly with the County and asked to see my file I was astounded by the extremely unprofessional way this guy deals with people. It's amazing he ever gets a permit by the way he speaks to people. To their credit, the county biologist clearly explained the issues to me and helped to find a solution. It would have been much better for me to do this myself. I can't believe I gave this guy any money. I would recommend against doing any business with this irrational hot head. He needs to get some counciling or get out of the business. read more

I just met Mr. Morrison less than an hour ago. He and his team are very nice and SUPER honest. I have a HUGE seawall and was told by another seawall contractor that I had to address my failing seawall. The other contractor wanted me to put in "Jet Filters" at a cost of about $1,000 per every 10 feet of seawall. I seen Morrison Contractors barges going up and down my canal so I decided to give them a call. It took less than 1 week before Mr. Morrison showed up at my house. He inspected the seawall. He gave me advice on some quick fixes that I needed to do in the future, cost of adding to the seawall cap, cost of a boat dock, and cost of a new boat lift. Then he did something I never ever could image. He told me that the seawall was essentially fine and for me NOT to waste my money with "Jet Filters" because they DO NOT work. WOW! What an honest guy. I just had to write this review about Mr. Morrison and his company even though he never did any work for me. If and when I have work done I will definitely use this company. The best experience I have EVER had with any contractor. I have learned a very, very painful lesson from many, many other South Florida contractors... They Lie, Cheat, and Steal. Thank God there are people like Mr. Morrison still working. I am so glad I met him today. read more
