Otherwise Roundel Motor Werks is the only place in South East Mass to take your car, especially BMW. They're labor rates are reasonable and these guys know there stuff. Tim called me to tell me about this. Estimated cost $10,000-$11,000. He suggested that I call M-B and see if it was under warranty. I did not have an extended warranty with them but called anyway. Found out that this is a special situation that is covered.....all parts and labor. I felt bad that I wasn't able to give Roundel any business so I texted Tim and told him to give me an oil change. He called me to say that an oil change will be part of the cylinder head replacement and that to do it through him would be a waste of my money. What a breath of fresh air this company is. Googled car mechanics and I called and spoke to Scott he drove to Whole Foods to inspect the car. Most car mechanics would say get it towed into us and will take a look at it. Scott put a new battery in it and drove it over to his shop assessed the problem and by 10 AM the next morning I was on the road again. By the way there were at least 10 cars in his shop at the time He could have easily said "call AAA and tow it in" I am from NJ. Cape Auto's staff were professional and helpful throughout the several months and steps that followed. Front-office Admin folks Heather and Jennifer were always available, knowledgeable and very friendly and polite. Matt Pennucci guided me along the path of being "totaled" and even helped me contact an independent mediator who was able to increase Mapfre's settlement offer. Finally, sloppy communication from Mapfre resulted in excessive storage fees that should not have been assessed to me. Cape Auto owner Kevin Gallerani stepped up and settled the matter to my benefit even though it meant a loss of revenue for them. Kudos to them. This is a class-act family business.
