I provided documentation of treatment, 90 days of NA meetings, a theft-awareness program, and three negative hair-follicle tests. Despite paying thousands of dollars, I still don't know what meaningful motions, investigation, defenses, or negotiations have actually been pursued on my behalf. To my knowledge, the State provided the discovery without counsel having to pursue it. Now I am being told the State wants the maximum sentence while an open plea to the judge is being discussed. I understand that attorneys cannot guarantee results. My complaint is about the representation I personally experienced: poor communication, little explanation of what was being done, and very little visible advocacy for the money I paid.
