When we were down to our final four, it was hard for us to make a firm decision, as we were cautious due to the previous bad experience that we had just gone through with the other photographer. Then my fiancé told me "so no to JoJo or did you like her stuff"? I was like. "Who is JoJo? I've never seen Jojo's photos". It gets a little confusing when you're looking at several images, to keep them all straight. Immediately after seeing Joanna's photos, our top 4 got tossed to the side and we knew at that moment we found our photographer :) We spoke on the phone with Joanna and she was super friendly and had answers to all of our questions, and had more to share with us that we didn't think of. We met Joanna at Knights Ferry for our engagement shoot, which is a must (very cool place that she suggested). Joanna was the sweetest person and, this time It felt to us like we were with a real professional. She was constantly helping us get into position, making sure hair wasn't in my fiancé's face. Making sure the lighting was just right before snapping shots. She was in her element, and we couldn't be happier with how this session went! After we parted ways. We were biting our nails waiting to see what we would get in our gallery (after the last disaster with the previous photographer) lol but when that email hit, we stopped what we were doing and went through every image and a huge weight was lifted. We were given the most beautiful pictures and couldn't be happier. We will FINALLY have good pictures of us hanging in our house that weren't taken from an iPhone lol. I don't even remember how I came across Ryan & Denise's Instagram, but I am SO GLAD that I did! A lot of the pages I had come across had a portfolio full of photos that were edited with either a yellow tinge or overly contrasted. I know nothing about the right verbiage to describe their editing style (lol), but it aligned with what I was looking for - light and airy/whimsical, while still remaining true to color. When I reached out to them, they set up a Skype call that my husband, my parents, and I joined. From the start, both Ryan and Denise were so personable and sincere! Going into our own marriage while working with a married couple/photographers was so fun! You can tell that they have so much love and passion for each other and their family, which made us all feel so comfortable! As we got to know each other on the call, we felt so solidified in our decision to work with them. They are confident, organized, detail-oriented, and very talented! They photographed us for an engagement shoot, which I would highly recommend! This helped us become familiar with different poses and also simply validated our decision to work with them even more. They worked out a whole timeline of our wedding day, from start to finish, and which pictures we would capture when. Their initiative and organization truly alleviated a lot of my stress! On our big day, the bridal party was running a tad late to the venue, and we also had a little snafu with the flower delivery (couldn't find where the bouquets were dropped off). Despite these events, Ryan and Denise were able to keep us on track with our timeline. When it came time for Ryan and Denise to review the photos from our big day, they reach out to immediately notify us that they realized we missed something on our "shot-list". Amidst all the chaos of running late and whatnot, we forgot to photograph the ladies in a group picture. I did, however, still get all the individual shots as the bride with each bridesmaid and my mom. We appreciated them being forthcoming and "owning" the mistake and sincerely apologizing for it. We purchased the wedding album package that includes 30 pages/15 spreads, and they added 6 more pages/3 more spreads as a little gift to us - such a nice touch and kind gesture! Yes, I ran the NYC Marathon in 2021, but just this year did I finally get around to purchasing my finish line photo. Attached you will see the before and after where Adam was able to remove three people that were crossing the finish line at the same time as me so now the focus is fully on me which feels super special.
