It is rare indeed to find a therapist willing to say "I don't have to treat clients with a single ounce of dignity or compassion!" Bongiovanni does not bother with such tedious conventions. If you want empathy, go find someone else. Expect to be blasted with unfair and unkind criticisms, and piles of misunderstandings. Don't expect to get a word in edgewise when she's ranting about what she mistakenly thought you said because what do YOU know. Definitely not a therapist for someone vulnerable, or in any kind of crisis. Not a good match for the therapy first timer. She is a wonderful challenge for folks who enjoy being treated like absolute shit when they're already struggling. Aw -don't be such a baby.
