I reached out to Morgan & Morgan due to hearing John Morgan's radio advertisement that they care more about the client than the money. I have a pregnancy discrimination case that will likely not garner hundreds of thousands of dollars, let alone millions, but I have evidence that leaves no doubt that my employer is in violation. After two weeks of going through the intake process and Morgan & Morgan's attorneys reviewing my case, they informed me that they were not interested in taking on my case. Apparently, My Mother's Death Wasn't Worth Investigating I am genuinely appalled by my experience with Morgan & Morgan. For a law firm that advertises itself as fighting for families who have suffered devastating losses, I expected considerably more than a rejection without any explanation. My mother was 71 years old, lived independently, and entered the hospital for anemia. After receiving two blood transfusions, she was medically cleared for discharge but remained hospitalized awaiting rehabilitation placement. Within days, she developed a hospital-acquired MRSA bloodstream infection (an infection contracted during hospitalization), which progressed to infective endocarditis, an infection involving her heart. Twenty days after entering the hospital for anemia, my mother was DEAD. During her hospitalization, I personally found my mother completely unresponsive in her hospital bed, apparently without nursing staff being aware of her condition. I had been told she was on continuous cardiac monitoring (telemetry), only to discover she was NOT. Telemetry was initiated AFTER I found her unresponsive. Even more disturbing, she had oxygen tubing in her nose, yet the oxygen tank I checked was at ZERO. She appeared to be receiving supplemental oxygen, but the equipment I observed was supplying none. Following this incident, the floor manager, charge nurse, and assigned nurse came into her room. I have been a registered nurse for 23 years, including extensive acute care experience and serving as a hospital charge nurse. I understand patient monitoring, IV management, infection prevention, and recognizing clinical deterioration. My concerns were not simply those of a grieving daughter unfamiliar with medical care. They were also the concerns of an experienced healthcare professional witnessing circumstances that raised serious questions about patient safety. This was not an isolated incident. We documented numerous concerns, including an IV left in place for eight days. My sister and I, along with both of our husbands, were so alarmed that we maintained detailed DAILY notes documenting incidents, conversations, and concerns throughout her hospitalization. Yet Morgan & Morgan declined the case WITHOUT REQUESTING OR REVIEWING ANY OF OUR DOCUMENTATION. AND OFFERED ABSOLUTELY NO REASON OR EXPLANATION WHATSOEVER AS TO WHY THEY WOULD NOT TAKE THE CASE. I understand that law firms cannot accept every case. However, I find it astonishing that a nationally advertised firm would decline representation under such serious circumstances without even requesting the documentation we offered. We weren't asking for a guaranteed outcome. We were asking for someone to take the circumstances surrounding our mother's death seriously enough to examine the available information. My mother was not simply another intake number. She was a previously independent woman whose life mattered. Declining representation was disappointing. Declining without examining our documentation or providing ANY explanation was, in my opinion, profoundly dismissive and disrespectful. I first reached out to Morgan and Morgan about my case with Chase. I was referred to by one of their sister companies Blackrock Attorney Group. Where they took over my case. From the start, it was an absolute nightmare. They kept switching agents. Each one of them, for some reason would lose all of the information. The receipts, the doctor visits, you name it. I had to resend multiple times. Then, I wouldn't hear from them for months. I do understand it is a long process, but you have to keep people in the loop of the progress. Ours wasn't a large money case, but they took it on July 3, 2024. Communication was poor from the start. The first case worker we got was terminated after we complained about them. We asked the second person we got to please explain to us how cases work since we've never had an accident with an injury. We got a very high-level answer and zero guidance on what to expect. The only time we got news is if I emailed and asked. My last email from 2 months ago went unanswered. The accident was with a dump truck, and the insurance provided at the time of the accident wasn't valid. They said they couldn't find insurance so they filed a law suit. I called to inquire about them taking on a case against a business company that is scamming people ( My family was scammed) out of hundreds of thousands of dollars total on a daily basis. There are hundreds of complaints to the State of Florida Attorney Generals office and to the BBB about the scam company. Unfortunately the phone consultant didnt speak English very well and had an even poorer understanding of it. After approximately 25 mins on the phone she tells me they can not take me as a client and sends me a follow up text with the State of TEXAS phone # to call!! They treat you like a number--the number of dollars they can get out of your case--and they don't care about you or your injury. They have an intake person trained to ask you five questions.
