After the roofing company did the tear-off, the insulation company started right away to vacuum out all the old insulation. After all the insulation was removed, they air-sealed all the penetrations (with fire-rated spray foam) and then added a fluffy R38 insulation everywhere. And this was all via the roof, not dragging hoses and insulation through the house to get access to the attic hatch. Much easier for me not to have people going inside our house all day making a mess. The roofing job was delayed for 2 days due to possible rain and they worked directly with Insul Techs to adjust the scheduling, making it all painless and seamless for me. He inspected our attics and sent another crew to check the crawl space and confirmed we also had tunneling. After sending us an estimate of the costs, we decided to check with another provider to get a competitive pricing. After reviewing we decided to go with Honest Rodent Proofing, they were clear and detailed in their statement of work and very approachable to discuss our issues. On the service day, unfortunately we had an issue where the estimate was incorrect and they missed the correct sq ft of the house. Sam was able to provide a discount and we were happy to proceed. The crew is a great team, and wanted to thank Fernando, Mario, Josh and others I didn't get their names. They were able to explain what they were doing and why. They cleared all the old insulation in the attic and replaced with new ones. They added traps which luckily caught one of the chaps the next day. They also added additional traps and will be checking in the next coming weeks. We value their service and have recommended them to our Neighbours too.

Javier and his team were prompt every day, took care to cover anything even slightly near the worksite and leading to it in plastic, and removed all existing insulation in one day (using a large vacuum, which also removed rodent droppings). They then built a great 8'x8' raised storage area (with insulation underneath) and replaced the old material with blown-in cellulose. Between removal and new insulation, they crawled all around the attic and covered up any potential rodent entry points, pointing several out on the inside and outside of our home. They also filled a large opening that went behind our BR closet and filled the areas above the knee walls so our sloped master ceiling now had insulation (both were not part of the project). And he also noticed the small broken corner of the ceiling hatch that provides access to the attic and replaced it with a new piece of plywood with a piece of insulation adhered to it (it was previously never insulated). At the end he gently asked for me to cover the cost of the excess insulation material but not his time (I paid him more than he asked since he and his team worked hard and he was very appreciative. Before leaving, Javier climbed up to our 2nd story roof to check potential critter entry areas from the outside. Javier is the type of contractor where you wish you could have him return to do other projects - but unfortunately, we only have one attic. His pricing was reasonable and he checked in every day to let me know what was going on and what they accomplished. You cannot go wrong hiring him. We first called Attic Kings about 4 years ago after heavy rains led to rats getting into our attic…read more They caused a huge mess, and I was especially concerned about the urine, droppings, old insulation, and fiberglass getting into the rest of the house. Moshe came out right away, inspected everything, and gave us a very reasonable quote to seal all of the entry points, clean and sanitize the attic, deodorize the space, remove all of the old insulation, and eventually replace it with new insulation. One of the biggest concerns for me was cleanliness. We had just installed brand new carpet upstairs, and the attic entrance is right there. Moshe covered everything in plastic and actually created a contained tunnel from the attic all the way downstairs and out the door so the old insulation and debris never traveled through the house. That made me feel much more comfortable about having the work done. Moshe and his team were fast, clean, and efficient, but what I appreciated most was how thorough Moshe was. He took the time to explain everything, sent us detailed photos, and never made us feel rushed. Because we have two attic spaces that connect along the roofline, Moshe did not just seal everything and immediately put down new insulation. He left traps in place and came back for several weeks to make sure there were no rats still hiding somewhere or finding another way in. Only after we were all comfortable that the problem was completely resolved did he install the new insulation. I really appreciated that because the last thing I wanted was to spend money on new insulation and have it ruined again. 4 years later, we still have the trap up there and have not had another rat problem. Recently, we had a completely separate issue with yellow jackets that made an opening near the roofline and got inside the roof area. After pest control handled the yellow jackets, I called Moshe just to ask whether the opening needed some kind of special repair. He came out the very next morning, walked the perimeter of both rooflines, found a few small areas that had shifted or opened over the years, sealed the area where the yellow jackets got in, and even went back into the attic to make sure everything was still secure and there was no evidence of rats. There wasn't. What really impressed me is that this was years after the original work, and he still came out as a courtesy to check everything. That says a lot about the kind of person he is and how he runs his business. Another thing I really appreciate is that when you call Attic Kings, you actually get Moshe. You are not dealing with an automated system, a call center, or a different person every time. He is very hands-on, and the people he brings with him have always been professional, respectful and clean. He also indicated that rodents were nesting in the crawl space and we had an infestation. My home is 2100 sq ft. Also I reached out to this company as I THOUGHT we had used their services when we initially bought the house in 2020. Our home was rodent proofed, insulation replaced and cleaned under the house and all areas sealed for $1500. Attic Green's technician was very complimentary of our home which we appreciated. However, I believe his quote was indicative of thinking we had 9K to blow on a service we already had and was familiar with. I then contacted Uriel and we discussed the quote. We had a great conversation and understood they didn't do the initial work, although I had a quote of $1700 in 2020. I reached out to the initial contractor and was quoted $2000. He indicated no infestation, no insulation needed to be replaced and he took a picture of where the open spaces were where rodents were coming in which was on top of our garage, not the crawl space. To those reading this review make sure you request multiple estimates before going with this company. This was an opportunity to gouge a customer and I was extremely offended by their quote.
