We loved our experience and wholeheartedly endorse Winder Gibson to anyone looking for a full service architecture firm. From the outset, Geoff and his team demonstrated an exceptional understanding of our family's needs, which they transformed into a beautiful house design that resonates with our aspirations and lifestyle. We are currently transitioning to the construction phase, and are excited to raise our family in such a thoughtfully designed space. Also, Geoff and team are true experts at navigating the San Francisco permitting process. They efficiently moved us through permitting, both reacting to feedback from the city and helping us manage our neighbors. Honestly, we could not have permitted the house without their guidance. In a city where building homes can be difficult, the one two punch of beautiful design + the knowledge and skill to get it across the line was invaluable. We are so appreciative of Geoff and team.

Beyond permitting and design, they acted as true partners rather than just a standard business, actively pointing out how to avoid costly, unnecessary upgrades and helping navigate challenges with our GC during construction. Jay's dedication stood out during a key site walk when he climbed up into the attic with me. Together, we caught framing, shear-wall, and electrical details that even the inspector missed (during the building phase). Having their architectural expertise on-site before insulation and drywall went up saved us significant money and ensured the structural integrity of the build. Not only did they handle the architecture and permitting in reasonable timeframe, but they supported us through every phase to ensure quality throughout. I genuinely appreciate their responsiveness and ongoing support.

From demolition to final walkthrough, the experience was seamless, professional, and stress-free thanks to their exceptional attention to detail. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Every update, change, and decision was clearly and promptly communicated, making it easy for us to stay informed about the progress. We always felt that our concerns were heard and addressed even when we decided to add a separate bathroom upgrade that wasn't in the original scope. Our project was impressively organized from coordinating trades to managing the timing of materials and appliance deliveries. The timeline we were given was realistic and well managed, and they stayed on schedule without ever compromising on quality. When we started planning, many of our friends related horror stories about overruns with their remodeling projects. However, we never faced this issue (much to their envy). What really stood out was Bryan's responsiveness to the few (minor) issues that did arise nearer the end, which is to be expected in any remodel. Each one was handled quickly and professionally, often before we even had to bring it up. Our new kitchen is not only beautiful, but also highly functional, thanks to the expert planning and execution of Bryan and his crew. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bryan Bodas and his team to anyone considering a remodel or new construction project.

(The previous owners were obviously HGTV and DIY addicts that couldn't stay away from painting stripes and spray can flocking.) We asked several local contractors for quotes and Derek Kulda is the only one who actually took the time to take measurements, talk to us and walk through our different options. In fact, he's the only one who came back with a proposal that was within our budget and exactly what we wanted. Well... two small bathroom remodels turned into a brand new house - new floors, plumbing, electrical, paint, bathrooms, walk in closet. Obviously we went way over budget and it took longer than anticipated, but the reaction we've received from everyone has been incredible. Our home appraised for over $125k more than what we paid and we couldn't be happier. Derek and his team took the time to listen to us, walk us through our options, get all the proper approvals and permits, present scenarios where we could save money/cut back on costs and present an amazing final product. His team was efficient, clean, courteous and professional. And when I got antsy on the time line (my expectations were way off base), Derek's team came in on weekends to help finish the job quickly. I highly recommend Kulda & 7 Sons Construction.

So although the HORRIBLE mess is still there, it is not the fault of Kulda and Sons, but rather of the homeowner. I apologize for the posting. I assumed because the Kulda & Sons sign was posted in front of the home they were the contractors. I truly believe they were not. I asked Yelp to take down the review (I tried, but I do not believe I was successful), but if it remains I ask any readers of my review to disregard it. I sincerely apologize. Jane Gorman
