As a tourist, Im eating every meal at a restaurant or my hotel but on an island that draws visitors for whisky, odds are, you'll need to stock up on snacks, bottled water, gatorade or whatever. Co-op has you covered. Wide selection and friendly staff to boot. Remind yourself, this is an island and sometimes weather can be troublesome. As a result, the stock ebbs and flows according to how soon they can restock. Such is life, roll with the punches.
Lidl

It's a good-sized Lidl that has everything you might need. Veggies, meat, fruit, all kinds of other food to stock up and household items. It's all fine and we found pretty much everything we looked for. But the quality is a step or two behind what we got used to. Especially the meat (Steaks) did not really thrill me. At Tesco you can get lots of different steaks (from the cheap to the top cuts). We also went for a bit pricier ones here....but it just didn't really do it for me. There's nothing really wrong, but it's not our choice to shop usually. Maybe old habits die hard....but we will go to Tesco again next time....or M&S.

The staff at the customer service refuses to exchange it and claim that it's against their 20mins policy returning fresh food because needs kept in a cold temperature. The staff made a speaker tunnel call 3 times and no one came. waitted 15 mins still no manager. I went home and I give the mince beef and pork to someone who will benefit from it. I have been shopping from this store for 26 years. I spend £700 per month there. I have very happy that Tesco are down £700 per month because I won't never ever go back there. I

Seems to cater mainly for the local holiday maker from Northern/ Southern Ireland. Has quite a few car parking spaces. Trolans Supervalu

Trolans is a bit of an institution as it sells so many different bits and pieces, all of them good quality and many of them you didn't even know you needed. It sells groceries, magazines, household stuff, garden benches and Man Utd merchandise. How very eclectic. My favourite parts are the deli counter, the chilled section which has lots of goodies like salads, lasagne and Magee's butchers meat. Oh, and the off licence. How great is it to be able to get your food and wine under one roof without having to go to Tesco? You'll generally find a half decent wine like Lindemans' on offer which is good news for me. The staff are all super helpful and go out of their way to chat and be friendly. That can make the queues a bit longer than they need to be, but you'd have to be really uptight to complain about that. Oh, yes, it's also a petrol station and sells hot food too. What more could you want?
