I have called twice now to book appointments as gifts for my mother, and both of us have had just…read morewonderful experiences with Revamp. I live in Los Angeles but am originally from Wooster, and my parents still reside there. Kara was so kind & helpful, and made the process so smooth both times. She took my payment over the phone and kept the gift certificate at the front desk so that my Mom could call, schedule, and come in to redeem at her convenience. They also have two online purchasing options that I didn't go with as calling and coming in was easier for my mother. She raved about the salon and her therapist Nikki; and since they offer so many services that are so convenient to book it's really simplified gift-giving from across the country for me!

I go to Taylor and she isn't always busy talking to other people about things that have nothing to do with my visit. The concept of in and out, no connection isn't a restful relaxing, take my mind off of mundane things atmostsphere. I can get that at any walk in or Supercuts, I mention that because the original owners of Supercuts were patients of mine and that isn't how they wanted treated. At Revamp I get the feeling every customer is focused on until they walk out the door. Some people love the disconnected service, but if I am going to pay $50-60 dollars for service then I want that service attention. I love going to Revamp and intend to try many of their other services especially the massage and facials.

I had an oddly stressful experience here. I made an appointment with a massage therapist named…read moreKassey at 4:15 on a Friday afternoon. When I showed up at 4:15, Kassey was nowhere to be seen and the doors were locked. I even knocked and said "Hello???" a few times. I sat around outside for about 5 mins waiting. Then I called. No answer. 8 mins past my scheduled time, I walk downstairs to Undergroundz and get some coffee. By the time I get my coffee and head back upstairs, it's about 15 mins past my appt time. I deliberate whether to go back to check the massage place again. Reluctantly, I decide to walk past one more time. Two ladies were sitting in there chatting, and one was Kassey. She greets me and whatnot. She doesn't seem super apologetic about the situation. I make a show of checking the time on my phone and being like "Heyyy, I had an appointment at 4:15 but no one was here." She said she'd been massaging someone...and that she thought she'd heard someone knocking but wasn't sure. I was a bit baffled by this--if you know you have clients coming, how you gonna lock everything up and not at least have a sign on the door??? I proceed with the process and fill out the paperwork. We talk about my problem areas--I ask her to focus on my low back and neck/shoulders, explaining that I'd come in mainly due to lower back pain I'd been experiencing. By then we're probably a good 25 mins behind on starting. We go back and do the massage. I have to be honest, I have super mixed feelings about what I experienced. It wasn't bad, but it was probably my least favorite massage of any I've had. She did spend a lot of time doing what I think was trigger point on my neck/shoulders. But she barely even touched my lower back where my worst pain was (which I'm now pretty sure is Sciatica). My lower back was the last thing she worked on, and it was very brief and light. All that aside, the massage itself would have been a decent feel-good/relaxation massage, but that wasn't what I was looking for. It made me wish I hadn't gone back, because the whole time I was wanting it to be over, but hoping it would get better. Then to top it off, at the end when I went to pay...I pull out my debit card and she gasps and says they don't take cards, only cash or check. I was like, no one told me that...? So I had to drive to the bank to get cash and go back to pay her, which was a bit frustrating. She also didn't offer a small discount or anything for the initial trouble of running late. Last time I had a massage, which was about a month prior, I walked away and my body felt like putty. I felt so healed and relieved. I was also in a state of deep relaxation to where I went home and meditated and slept. This time I didn't really feel a whole lot different from when I walked in. This was the most expensive massage I've had, and it was the least healing. I waited a couple of weeks to write this review because I wanted to 1) wait and see how my body felt the days immediately following the massage and 2) not write a review out of whatever frustration or upset I was experiencing at the time. I've pondered about whether I would return to this same place to see a different massage therapist, and I've concluded that I don't think I will. It was so uncomfortable and so disappointing that I don't think I could go back.
