We hired Moore Moving Company to move us from Paragould to Pocahontas, Arkansas, We asked if they were insured before we hired them and they assured us that they were. After the move, we could not find the marble piece from our antique early 1900's double china buffet. We called Moore's and they said that it was wrapped in a blanket and placed in our garage. After still not being able to find it, we reached out to them again. The owner checked with the workers and said that Nathan had put the marble behind his back seat for safe travels and forgot about it. Nathan was currently on a job in Idaho and had the marble with him. He would be home that weekend and get it to us. When we still didn't hear from them, I called and Mr. Moore said that Nathan did not drive his truck to work that day but would be driving the next day. I told him since I work in Jonesboro that I could meet them to pick it up. I never heard from Moore's. I called again and Mr. Moore told me to just take it up with Nathan directly and gave me his phone number. I called and texted Nathan that night and the following day and got no response. We filed a police report at the Paragould Police station. Nathan finally contacted me after being questioned by the investigator and said he went to look for it when I texted him and that he had left it by his back steps for 3 1/2 weeks and it was there now. He said that his landlord or his girlfriend must have thrown it away while he was in Idaho. I questioned him that I thought he had the marble with him when he was in Idaho. Dead silence. He said that he had to call the boss. The police have a taped confession from Nathan that he had the marble in his possession but no longer has it. Mr. Moore said this is between us and Nathan because Nathan is a 1099 worker and not his employee and he is not responsible for his actions. They also broke an antique two piece cut glass punch bowl, several pieces of hull pottery and a panel in our hutch in my presence. read more
