i am hesitant to find a new dentist in san jose, ca because my previous dentist, dr serge…read moremoldavsky, in morristown, nj was simply THE BEST! i came across his practice after moving to the morristown area 8 years ago for emergency tooth care. it turns out, i needed a root canal. dr. moldavsky immediately went to work and started the procedure the same day as the diagnosis. a few follow up appointments later, my teeth were in top shape and i didn't feel a ping of pain! i'm no stranger when it comes to dental work. i've had more than my fair share of fillings (the number is embarrassing), busted teeth off when landing on them after doing stunt moves off a couch, had braces, got them whitened, you name it. i've never met a dentist more gentle than dr moldavsky. he is thorough, considerate, and knows what he's doing. he has his minions do the dirty work. his staff is super friendly, chatty if you want them to be, quiet when you don't feel like talking. his dental hygienist, rebecca, is the best! she does the best teeth cleanings and reaches places in your mouth you never knew you had before. she also explains what she's doing and gives you tips on how you can better your teeth cleaning experience in the future. the office is on the second floor of a somewhat smelly building on south st. it's easy to walk right past it. you have to park on the street and pay for parking, or walk it if you're within a reasonable distance. however once you walk up the stairs and open the door to the office, you find yourself in a dental oasis. each room has windows so you can look out onto the hustle and bustle of south st. there are tvs in the rooms as well. oh and free threaders if you have permanent braces like me. :) the best part is that they work with your insurance. they've never done anything that wasn't covered fully by my insurance. although i'm pretty sure they've snuck a few x-rays in to check on the status of a tooth their watching even if i wasn't eligible for it. though, they've never charged me for it. they really care about your teeth and NOT how to make money on them. i wish i could pick up this dental practice and put it san jose. anyone who frequents this dentist has made a great choice.

I won't discuss the fraud here. What "services" they provided and what they charge for - both you and insurance - are 2 separate things. I get on average 9 pieces of mail from them a week. The Dental Group of Morristown has a fabulous team from the women answering the phone, the dental assistant, dental hygienist, and the dentist himself. The office is in a converted home which makes it feel more comfortable when you walk in versus going into a sterile clinic. The dental hygienist/assistant talked to me through the appointment which gave me a sense of ease. The dentist is very personable and helpful. I never felt rushed or that I asked a dumb question. They were very friendly and did not scold me as other dentist have in the past. Just a really good experience overall. I am now forcing my spouse to go here and referring them to friends due to service. I also felt like they were very cost efficient in offering services and only did what was covered with my insurance. I never felt that they were doing or recommending services to help their pockets. Unfortunately, between my penultimate and final appointments here, it seems the entire staff I was familiar with all quit or were laid off. When I called to schedule a cleaning, the person answering the phone immediately tried to get me registered as a new patient when I had already made it clear that I was not new -- somewhat annoying but maybe they themselves were new. The hygienist who did my cleaning was kindly informative and understanding. The dentist, however, made me wait for her to show up just to barely glance at my teeth and refused to renew my prescription toothpaste (that my previous dentist had already said I needed multiple times) because she decided from her extremely short amount of poking around in my mouth that I did not need it. In a rude tone of voice, she said I should go to a cheaper place to get my remaining work done, which I would agree with purely due to the prices here being simply unreasonable if you're uninsured. To top it off, she shamed me for having crowns at my age, while not even attempting to learn my aforementioned dental history! I can no longer recommend this office.
