Took the free Italian wine intro course(1.5 hrs). This is an amazing introduction course with free trial of four different styles wine. Interesting short story about Italian wine geographic information, which types of grape plant in specific regions, how the wine made , brand, delivered etc. Also we tried different style of wines provided in the seminar session. From the Verdicchio(white grape wine) to Dolcetto, Chianti, and Amarone. Prices goes low to high. These taste are so good. Hands down, the awesome one and half hour learning experience. I am getting to know how to read the label on the bottle, what the specific letters mean. What is the highest quality of wine labeled which are DOC or DOCG(Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin) A tons of information with extraordinary taste experience. Next time, I would tell my friends how to pick up the right wine. Choose the right wine at a right time usually make a meal gourmet. Last but not least, Bring a jacket with you. read more

I love this store. I will admit I can be a bit of a cheapskate, and therefore their prices can go a little high for me, but considering their efforts to get to know their suppliers intimately, and their commitment to natural and organic winemakers, the prices are justifiable. That said, they have PLENTY of reasonably-priced and delicious wines. What puts Moore Brothers over the top, though, is their knowledge and service. I know just enough about wine to know how much I don't know. When you walk in, someone wants to help you, and if you want, you could have a 20-minute conversation about wine. They will print off notes on the wines you've purchased. Their tastings are informative, personable, and enjoyable. Also, during the COVID-19 pandemic, they have donated proceeds of certain specials to different groups hit hard by the shutdown. Buy your wines, especially wines for special occasions, at this store. If I could give this place 9,000 stars I would do it. This is the best wine store I've ever been to in my life. These people really, really, REALLY, know their stuff. You know how sometimes, you go into a store to buy wine, and some guy is like, "can I help you find something?", and you tell him roughly what you're looking for, and they recommend something, and you go home all excited to drink it, and then you open it up and take a sip, and you're like, "what the hell is this", and then you have to go back to the store and kick the guy in the nads? Yeah. That doesn't happen at Moore Brothers, because they don't bullshit you. If they don't know something about a particular wine, they will tell you so, and then find someone who does. On top of that, they really aren't snobbish about wine. They try to talk to you on a level you can understand. If you know a lot about wine, that's great. If you don't, they won't talk over your head, but they won't talk down to you either. I've always felt very comfortable speaking with the staff here. All of their wines are cared for properly, and known to be good quality wines. Many of which you can't find elsewhere. Read: If you go here looking to pick up a few bottles of Yellow Tail Merlot and Woodbridge White Zinfandel, you're an idiot. There are also stores in South Jersey and NYC, and while I haven't been to either of them, I know I can confidently recommend them to anyone who might happen to be in the area. Oh, the other thing? You needen't sever arm nor leg in order to buy these great wines. They are very reasonably priced. If you can appreciate wine even a little bit, you will find stuff for $12-15 that will absolutely rock. Please, do yourself a favor, if you want really quality wines that you can trust, go to this store, or, if you live too far away, have them deliver! While this place has a plethora of wine at various price points - that can be said about many other stores in the area as well. This place, however, does manage to have the most condescending, arrogant staff around. Their inability to work within a budget is utterly ridiculous. I asked for a $15-20 wine and the employee offered me 3 separate $25-30 wines before finally finding me a single $20 wine that he proclaimed "okay". I'm 25, on a budget, and if a wine is $20, it's going to have to be better than "okay". I've had excellent wines for sub-$10 at stores not far from here, and enjoyed the experience of buying them on top of it! As for tastings at this store, prepare to be in a mob. It's absolutely overcrowded, and it's as if they actively try to pour as slowly as possible - not that there's even ever enough to go around. I've gone to two separate tastings and walked away without ever being acknowledged aside from the person pouring the wine asking me if I was ready for the next (I had been for more than 10 minutes). At both wine tastings, they've "run out" of wine. Please enlighten me as to how this happens in a WINE STORE - because I don't get it. Needless to say, I've since stopped shopping here. They only get 2 stars because they do have a large amount of wine in stock (except for those they're tasting, apparently) and a good location. read more

I love Moore Brothers - I'm so happy I found it, during my quest for something other than the state run stores in PA. I travel to Europe for work and regularly bring home bottles of wine - where you can find a nice bottle of red for less than 10 euros at any grocery store. But try to find a value bottle here and it's a crap shoot - Moore Brothers has a nice selection of wines from inexpensive (around $10) all the way up to pricier Montrachets for $100+. Most of their wines, though, are priced in the moderate range and are always a good value for the money. Moore Brothers has mostly French and Italian wines. There are some German, a few (very few) California wines. French and Italian seem to be their wheel house. They send their people over, where they get to know the winemakers, can tell you about the vineyard, exactly where it's located, the climactic conditions, and how many bottles they produce. Usually their wines are small production stuff you wouldn't find anywhere else. The store is kept at cellar conditions (so wear your fleece.) I am not a connoisseur of these wines so I rely heavily on their suggestions. Usually when hubby and I go, we tell them we want to stay in the $15-$25 range, and have them walk us around the store and make up a couple of cases. The staff is very knowledgeable, never snooty and all seem to have a passion for every bottle. I have never, not once been disappointed with a wine from there. My current love is a bottle of Dolcetto D'Alba ($21) they recommended - I'm also loving a Fronsac and a $10 Bordeaux. I'm running low on my reds so will be making another trip soon - and will be stocking up on cases of white when I head to Newport for the summer. read more

FOODIES: look no further. Moore Brothers is like having your own personal Sommelier. We once e-mailed an event menu for a large group and they made spot-on recommendations. Wear a sweater because the store is cave cool, and be prepared to take advantage of a tour of their Vin-ventory (or would it be inVINtory) with a knowledgeable guide. This place is a treasure. You'll find a great selection of wine at a variety of price points. The selection is carefully curated and they do a great job of making suggestions if you tell them what you generally enjoy or what you are eating. Each bottle comes with a printout of information about the wine and food pairing suggestions. I recently stopped in and was initially nervous as I am new to wine and as a 23 year old sometimes not given much attention in a specialty store but was pleasantly surprised as the staff was extremely friendly, and helpful. They asked what my experience was with wine and what my price range was and from there was able to help me pick out a bottle. I also purchased a cider which I loved. I will definitely be coming back. No wine stores open in Philly during the pandemic so decided to go down to Delaware. I heard from a friend that Total Wine was mobbed so I decided I would go a few extra miles to Moore Brothers. I'm so glad I did, not only did I get expert advice on what wines to buy (over the phone) but they also had my order ready and brought it out to my car. Used to go here when I lived a little closer. The staff is very knowledgeable, collection of wine is from small boutique producers who in many cases has met the staff personally. Many good selection in the low to mid price range (less than $50). One of the few stores that carried a Monbazillac. The ability to upload the wine you purchased along with tasting notes to your private area on their website is a plus in case you ever wanted to refer to it or make a repeat purchase. I would give them 4.5/5 stars. Only reason I hold back on the 0.5 star is the narrow selection range. read more

Their price point is a little high but their wine selection is not your typical wine selection... so it's to be expected. They sent an email following up on my visit which was also nice. These guys know their stuff! The staff is friendly and non-intimidating (always helpful in a wine store) and they will give recommendations of what goes with that goes with dinner tonight. Even if you don't know a Pinot from a from a Merlot, they will be happy to walk you through it- they take wine seriously. If you are looking to spend $12 or $112 they will not steer you wrong. Dont head into this wonderful jewel off Trolley Sqaure looking for that $6 or $7 bottle. Rather spend up to $20 to $25 for that little extra. These folks import some of the best labels out there. Get on their email list and they let you know what they are bringing in. I have gotten introduced to some wonderful new grapes (Sancerre, Viongnier) and become more fluent in some ones I thought I knew (Sangiovese and Reisling) due to the time their staff has spent with me. Dont get me wrong you can get great value for dollars or spend a small fortune but either way this one needs to be on your list of "go-to" for your vino selection. Thanks guys! Good - The staff has a good to great knowledge of the wines in the store, all of which are usually solid values at their respective price points. A great source for some harder to find wines, such as Keller Rieslings. Okay - The wine selection can be spotty in certain areas, as the shop works with a single importer. The selections in Germany, Champagne, and Italy are great, but the selections in other areas, such as the Northern Rhone are sparse and have always been so. Bad - The staff, while being very knowledgeable about the wines in their store, typically have not had a particularly deep knowledge of wines outside of the distributor they work with. It can be a bit frustrating when trying to ascertain the style of wine from a particular producer in their store, as they cannot really give contextual information about the wines and where they fit in the greater wine world. read more

Excellent wine for very good prices. However, staff is arrogant and not that interested in selling wine that is less than $24-$30. I am new to buying wine and the salesman did not seem to want to answer my questions even though there were no other customers in the store. I bought a case of various wines and the salesman barely gave me eye-contact. I would definitely go back for the quality of the wines and the price, but would do research first on my own and know more about what I wanted when I walked in the store. read more
