Great out of the way place. They have a great menu if you're hungry. They've got a huge dance floor and stage. I will be The ribs were absolutely delicious, they were falling off the bone and the barbecue sauce was just right for me. I just needed a little more. It comes with a salad first, had a baked potato, sautéed zucchini and mushrooms and a side of meaty beans. Well worth the $25 I spent. I have decided to update my review. Nothing has changed, the staff is still as friendly as ever. They have pool tables inside and in another room, so if it gets too loud, you can go there. They also have an outside area with a bean bag toss game. The food is good, and I usually go for the steak tacos. They used to cost $1 each, but now they cost $2. We visited this bar right after they opened and I didn't rate it then but it would not have been good. This last week we went on a Saturday night and it was fantastic. One of the best country band's I've seen in a long time. Huge dance floor for me to not bump into other patrons while I perform my worst two step. The security was great too. He patrolled the whole inside and walked us out till we left. Safe and secure! I appreciate that! We only had time for a few brews but the bartender was gracious and quick. I really like the jars for a drinking glass too. Bonus, I got a selfie with the guitar player of the band. I didn't catch his name but this dude can pick a telecaster like it's on fire. I really wanted to like this place since it's a local business in Olivehurst but I will have to pass on the food here. The atmosphere is friendly and the waitresses/bartenders are great too. But the food is a hard pass. The ribs were super charred and dried out. My friend ordered medium well steak bites and her steak was completely burned and dried out too. Hopefully this place can work on their quality control for food service. I'd love to come back to enjoy a meal here. read more

Today October 11, my sister and I took our niece out for her 21st birthday. We had originally went to a different bar but because the karaoke time did not start until eight we soon found out that this bar starts their karaoke session at seven. So we decided to come here to be a part of the karaoke. We get here and we sit at the bar. We immediately have our IDs out because that's the reasonable thing to do when you go to a bar. We gave the lady our IDs, and she scanned them. When she scans them and gets down to our niece, she gets prompted from the scanner red flag. She then asked our niece to verify for some questions. My niece did stumble upon one question that related to her ID, but it's because she's been moved around so many times, so she did not know the area code that she had on the ID. The lady then proceeded to us that she needs to speak to a manager, who is sitting at the bar, drinking a mimosa. When the manager hears that she is needed for assistance, she replies, " now you put me on blast". They then proceeded to walk to another room to talk about the red flag that had just occurred. She then comes back and announces to us that she will not be serving us, because it is too risky for my niece, who had just turned 21 to consume any alcoholic beverages from this location. Because she wanted to be about protocol and regulations, I asked her the question of, " well is your manager on duty right now? Because she is consuming an alcoholic beverage, which is illegal to do in the state of California when you are in the work place." She Dodges my question and says, " I have the right to ask my manager any question". She does not answer the question that I had perceived to her, she gave me a different answer to a different question that was not announced. When someone has just turn 21 years old, they usually go out for their birthday to get their first drink. While we were leaving, obviously, we are upset because it was her birthday. Before she gave the ID, we mention to the bartender that it is her birthday. She was not welcoming, seems like she didn't wanna partake in any kind of conversation with us. We are not from here, we are from Sacramento and for us to drive all the way over there to be treated this way is uncalled for. I understand that there are rules and regulations that a person in the workplace needs to follow, and I'm not sure if her manager was on duty while she was consuming an alcoholic beverage, but there was no reason for her to treat us this way. I hope somebody from this establishment does read this and gets a laugh out of it however, it's not funny. I wouldn't recommend, but who am I. read more

The food was gross, Raw burger, the steak was dry, we ordered ribs, and they were the worst I've ever had. They put Habanero in their raspberry BBQ they were so hot hot I couldn't eat them, most likely they pre cook them and microwave them because so dry. The staff was not too friendly, no waitresses, so you're on your own to get your food and drink refills. One thing they had going for them was the live band. 5 doller cover was worth the band. 6 people in our party. If we go back, it will be just to dance, but the food is terrible. Things here have gone downhill for awhile now. Food and service. I haven't been here in about 6 or 8 months and decided tonight was the night. Ordered a drink and some food. While waiting for the food I sat outside playing music through touchtunes. Then shortly after the bartender came requesting $5.00 for a cover charge for the band they had that evening. I explained to her that I was already here prior to the band and paying for my own music through touchtunes. Apparently that didn't matter. So that was fine I paid my tab and was waiting for boxes for my food and the bartender who was now off the clock came out to complain with her friends about people...me ...not wanting to pay the cover charge. I honestly feel that was poor judgment. I don't think she knew I was sitting there but my opinion is she didn't deserve the tip I gave. read more

The worst bar i could ever rate. White power at best. Do not go there if you have any type of race mixed in you. The bartender Bree will act like you dont exist and then their security guard (who is also her husband bud vernan) will act like you are doing something wrong. I go here semi often to watch a friends band play. Every time I've been here all the Bartenders have been fantastic but I specifically wanna shout out Jenelle (not sure if I'm spelling that right) and Ashley! They were so great as my party had several tabs that they handled like champs. We don't go out often and I have been wanting to go here for months. I invited my wife's family to celebrate her birthday at Moonshiners. When we arrived we were told they had no food at the moment because the cook went to the grocery store. So we ordered drinks while we waited. Everyone ordered water except for one of us ordered a strawberry daquri and they didn't have what they needed to make that. If the only thing that you can serve is water why bother to open the door. read more

This saloon is a great place to go just to get a good beer, dance or listen to a good band. They have the coldest beer anywhere in the tri-counties and use 50% nitrogen & 50 % C02 for their beer, which means less headaches. They serve great food as well (Personal favorites are the $1.00 street tacos and the baby back ribs). The dance floor is also the largest dance floor in the area and there is always a good band playing Friday and Saturday nights as well as karaoke during the week with line dancing on Thursdays. The staff as well as the owner Howard are always very friendly and courteous. There are pool tables, dart boards and corn hole boards as well. Although I am not the biggest country fan, I do love me a good ole' dive bar that has reasonably priced drinks, pool, awesome bar food, and good service. The staff are always friendly and the bathrooms are always clean. Unfortunately, I have forgotten to take photos of all the tasty pub snacks I have enjoyed here, but I can tell you that you will not be disappointed (the price is right too). The pretzel bites ($6) are tasty, the basket of french fries and onion rings ($4) are always hot, fresh, and made to order. The pulled pork sliders with fries ($10) should definitely be added to the menu as a staple item - please! And the BBQ bacon burger ($11-12) was tasty as well. The staff and atmosphere is very relaxing. The decor is fantastic and clean. Restrooms are very clean. The food here is fantastic and even better then some fancy restaurants. They have live bands quite frequently, and a large dance floor. With 4 pool tables (2 outside), dart boards and cornhole beanbag toss in the backyard area there is plenty to keep you entertained.
