I just received the best massage from Lily. She is very strong and found all the places that needed attention. My neck and shoulders were in really bad shape. I feel so much better. I highly recommend getting a massage especially from Lily. It was reasonable. She was very nice. I feel so much better. I can't thank her enough. She's also just very kind and wants to make it the best experience. read more

I walked in and the lady at the desk was asleep or something because when she heard the alarm door ding she lifted her head from her desk abruptly. Massage was good, bed was warm, the lady used hot stones. When it came to the payment she got upset with the amount I tipped and I didn't understand her too well, but it sounded like she was demanding a $30 tip I told her I only had what I had given her and she seemed annoyed. AWKWARD! read more

Definitely would have given it a 5 star, however the lady that was massaging me yesterday 3/17 around 12pm (unfortunately didn't catch her Name), she kept having to be interrupted to answer the business incoming phone calls, holding the phone in one hand while she was working on my back, the one hour Massage sesh. It felt like it deducted minutes, but not off the bill! Couples massage was like $60 each person, plus TAX came out to $124. (Still affordable for sure) The only other con would be the facility didn't play Relaxing or soothing music while in the Room/Session, so you could literally hear everyone breathing. Having Spa music would have helped me relax, and although the lady massaged me just OK, it could've been better. She kept like stretching my Muscles around and it could've been a much more pleasant experience. We're not from the Area, considering we were on Vacation all the way from Anaheim, I would hope there's a next time! Overall, clean facility read more

One of the worst massages I've ever received. Another worker walked in while I was receiving my massage just to talk about something, it felt very uncomfortable and unprofessional. Was not enjoyable or relaxing at all. read more

Thank You Moon Spa!! You save my body every time!! Without your healing hands I believe I'd be stuck in a bed. Amy has been my masseuse lately, very strong and gentle too. She's a miracle (: Give Mom Spa a try. You'll be very glad you did! read more

Got a 30min foot message with a friend. Before we were attended we had to wait a bit, they seemed busy, but I'm not sure if they just weren't attentive. While we were waiting, another customer was being begged for a tip, which was uncomfortable. There's a huge language barrier so not sure what the issue was with the tip. That set the mood for the rest of the message, so I tipped 25% just so I didn't have to deal with it (wouldn't do that much). Message was good, wasn't too sure what to expect. I had heard there was a back message component but there wasn't (just a light tap) Hard with the language barrier to follow instructions. I think I'd go again, but still not sure. They recommended paying cash. read more

The entire massage she left the door open while I'm there with the sheet pulled down so everyone walking by could see me. The lady in the front was on a phone call talking so loud on the phone I couldn't relax. No music and the lights on full. Then at the end they both demanded I tip for it. Not a good place to go for a relaxing massage. She did a good job as far as the massage went. Just bad atmosphere read more

We were staying in a hotel with a horrible bed and woke up with back pain. We decided to go get a massage. After looking through Yelp reviews, we found this place. Yelpers don't lie. This place was extremely clean, the masseurs were really sweet, and the massage was one of the best I've had. We will definitely be back when we are in town. read more

I made a same day appointment for a massage with Lucy. Very relaxing ambiance when I walked in. Lived every minute of it. 60 mins massage felt amazing. The temperature of the massage oil was just warm enough. She finished with a hot towel to remove the oil. I'll be back next week. read more

Moon Spa - Ready for my 60 min massage. - Massage Near Me - San Luis Obispo, California

High recommend the 90 min full body + feet massage. So relaxing and a great price. The best value massage in SLO!

Going to a reflexology place is always an adventure. One thing you can pretty much guarantee is that you will get massaged by someone that has no training whatsoever. That is definitely the case here. I felt like a record the DJ was spinning. Then at the end I was charged $10 more when I was very specific about what service I wanted. To top it off, she waits till the end to tell me the credit card machine is down. I don't know about you but I'm not too keen on running errands (like going to the bank) after a massage. So I go to the bank and she received a much smaller tip due to the inconvenience, overcharge (integrity issue duh), and downright lackluster massage. read more

I've been getting massages for twenty plus years and found another great place at moon spa. This is my fourth time there and all four times I got CC or Cee Cee. She gives a combination of deep tissue massage and medium. Just tell her what you want and she actually listenes. I'm extremely pleased and if you want to be as well as for Cee Cee. I'm now a customer for life. read more

Husband went in for a 30 minute body massage which they said was $40. Ended up wanting to charge him $62. He told them a 30 minute massage is $40 like they said, they ended up saying they added a tip. $60 is a 60 minute massage for those who don't know. They were demanding a tip and even ended up using their phone to translate the tip. My husband was not even satisfied with the massage so it made it even more uncomfortable they were demanding a $22 tip. I came to check the reviews later, and ran into the guys review who was waiting in line & over heard the conversation and even ended up feeling uncomfortable himself. He even made a review about it!!! Thank you! Not coming back here again. read more

Cici was terrific. Would absolutely come see her again! I don't go to strip mall massage places with high expectations but having once been a broke post college student with a back that was out, I've had an open mind & tried a few. I wanted a more spa like experience this weekend but I was calling the morning of and had no luck. I gave this place a shot because it had "deep tissue" massage listed Personally I am not a big fan of Thai massage (my husband likes it) which these places frequently offer exclusively. Seeing deep tissue was a big win & won me over to give it a try. I had a fab massage with CiCi all things considered. She checked in with me w/r to pressure, she fit me in when I was free during my schedule, there was no slapping, just the pounded fists in the palm which I don't mind, and she asked for permission to touch/massage my face & scalp (no, yes, thank you). She incorporated hot stone massage which was fantastic and foot massage. She also didn't spend an inordinate amount of time on my IT band, a real pet peeve of mine. It was 30 minute foot, 30 minute full body. Extremely professional throughout. The walls are thin, yes but I feel like at these places it's kind of a given. read more

My husband and I are visiting from out of state and he saw the ad for Moon Spa in the local free paper. He called and they had an opening for 2 in the next hour. Typically I'd be a little leery of going to a massage place that puts ads in free local papers thinking they have a "side business" going on but this place was great ! For $60 they do a medium pressure massage with warm oil, hot stones and steam towels. I will admit they concentrate too much on your back area and could balance it out more on the legs, arms and feet. In SLC you can't get anything like that for under $90 and they are all booked up for at least a month. HIghly recommended this place. read more

I'm very picky about my massages. In fact a bit spoiled, I think. I frequently visit Chinese massage businesses all over Central & So Cal. I thought I'd take advantage of Moon Spa's $40/hr before-noon-special because I felt a migraine coming on. While I am sure the female masseuse intended her best, I just wasn't feeling it. Her motions over my back, shoulders & upper neck irritated more than they soothed. She spent 1/2 the hour on my back when I would have liked more foot time, after all, Chinese masseuses have a reputation for being excellent at foot reflexology. There actually was no reflexology going on here at all. And certainly no acupressure. Two things most enjoyable about Chinese massage. Unfortunately, I will not return & will not purchase any more gift certificates from here either. A bit disappointing! read more

Great massage, communication could have been better. I heard that this place offered an 60 minute full-body massage for only $40 if you go in before noon, so I called the day before to see if they had any availability for the next morning. When I came in, I was greeted by a kind woman at the front and rushed back to a room. It wasn't until I was on the massage table that I realized that I didn't get the chance to say which massage I wanted or even for how long. I was given money for my birthday to pay for the massage, so I mentally prepared myself to pay for the most expensive option, but I didn't really like being put in that position. I ended up paying $55 (without the tip) for an hour-long massage. The massage itself was great, although if you have any places on your body that are off limits you should probably tell them beforehand because you won't get asked. In any case, I would definitely recommend this place for a cheap, quality massage. Just don't make the mistake I did and assume they'll ask what you want. read more

Great massage, me and my gf booked a couples massage and it was very pleasant! Fair price for the hour deep tissue!

Hands down best massage I've ever had. The lady also didn't talk while she was massaging me which was nice! I've gone to other places where all they do is chat and it's not really a place where I want to make conversation. So that was a plus. I felt very relaxed. She took the time to massage my head, face, hands, legs, and feet. The work she did on my back was amazing. I made the mistake of not tipping enough (Probably bc I was in an amazing spacey trance after I was done to be honest). I felt bad after I handed her he receipt and was thinking "oh man, maybe I should tip more". Well, she didn't miss a beat asking for me to tip more, which is kinda funny haha. So I definitely tipped them what they deserved. So definitely tip them well! It's a great little quirky place. Definitely worth the money. read more

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our massages at Moon Spa considering that it was only $40 per person (we went before noon) and located in a plaza next to car dealerships. The massage: The ladies worked on us for the full hour - none of that massage you for half an hour and then leave something on you for half an hour nonsense. They also used adequate strength (I hate weak massages) and found my knots. The hot stones they used to massage us for a couple of minutes felt very nice! The experience: My husband and I were put in a couples room so we were able to stay together. I liked how the two massage therapists did not talk to each other or to us during the massages so I was able to focus on the massage and relax. The room was clean, private, and quiet. My only complaint is that the room got a bit cold and they had only put one thin sheet over us. Don't walk in expecting this to be a fancy pampering spa experience with fuzzy bathrobes and expensive water bottles and you'll have a good experience. read more

Fantastic massage! Really helped with some lower back pain and the hot stone treatment was a nice bonus.

So happy that my bf and I went here over the weekend! I was desperate need of a deep tissue massage, and I have heard great things about Moon Spa! Right away, Lucy asked me if I preferred hard or medium pressure, and she asked me if the pressure was okay. She knew exactly what she was doing when it came to the different muscle groups. My right side is SO much worse that my left, and she took the time to try to get out the knots in my shoulder and under my shoulder blade. We did the full hour, full body, couple massage. I called a couple hours before we wanted to come in, and they were able to accommodate us, and put us in the private couple room. Similar to other comments about looking for a fancy spa -- this is not the place. Looking for a great full body massage, with people who know what they're doing? LOOK NO FURTHER THAN MOON SPA! Great prices, clean room, and I will definitely be coming back. My boyfriend can't wait to come back for foot reflexology. I'll update this review if/when we try different services! Thank you to Lucy and Julia! read more

Came here during a little getaway since the spa at our hotel was all booked up. It was a very nice surprise, this visit. These ladies know what they're doing. I work a very labor intensive job and had built up a lot of tension and knots in my upper back and shoulders. The older woman was AMAZING at obliterating the majority of my back/shoulder pain. She showed no mercy, and I loved it lol. I was quite sore the day after but I felt great! When I go to a massage place, I really want them to tackle those knots and she really delivered. Really hope to visit again the next time I'm in the area :) 10/10 read more

Experienced a great blissful 90 minute massage for my recent birthday compliments of my husband Rich. We've been there a few times, Rich prefers masseuse Vicki & this was my first time with Julia, who is also very good. They were very responsive to our preferences & provided a very relaxing/healing experience for a full uninterrupted 90 minutes. read more

My daughter called to get an appointment for two massages, they misunderstood and gave us a couples room for two. So, our experience started out with some humor. Just specify if you call them! I have had many massages, many very expensive massages!...These ladies were relentless working on the knots in my upper back and neck. Took their time, massaged from the top of your head, ears, nose, cheek bones and chin....all the way to the bottom of feet and toes, rubbed out my sore legs from running. Then, just when you think it's over and you're bummed, you flip over and they do it again!! I was extremely relaxed, and we both, my daughter and I felt like Jello when we left. For ONLY $45.00, they went way over an hour...just WOW. I highly recommend this funny little place!! Enjoy! And for gosh sakes, TIP THEM!! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! If i could give them 0 stars i would! Where do i start? I came here with my friends after reading all the good reviews on yelp. I was initially very excited about this place because their prices are very reasonable.. I WAS WRONG!!!!! My masseuse left me on the massage table at least 5 times to answer the door or answer the phone. She also focuses only on my back for 40 minutes doing the same repetitive motion. She didn't even massage my back! She rubbed it and tapped it like she was trying to burp a baby? After so long of her doing the same motion on my back it started to be uncomfortable and no longer felt good. After my poorly done massage came to an end it was time to pay. I gave her $48.. (3 for a tip) which i thought was was very generous considering it was one of the WORST massages i have ever had. When i gave her the 3 dollar tip she looked at me and told me that i needed to give five dollars and what i gave wasn't enough!!!! I was SHOCKED! I told her that i didn't have any more money and that's all i could give and she said "this is not enough you can pay with a credit card". We went back and forth about how i didn't have enough money to give her 5 (even though i did but she did NOT deserve it) she kept insisting i give her a bigger tip. I finally told her that she was very rude and she was lucky i was tipping her at all. Bottom line is not only was this the worst massage i have ever gotten but they are so rude and have the worst customer service!!! Save your time and money! They're not worth it!! read more

My husband and I are staying in Cambria on vacation. He has had 11 back surgeries and we massages at home about every 3 weeks. Thank you so much to Julia and Vicki for doing an amazing job that will allow us to enjoy the rest of our vacation. Ask for Julia (who did my husband's back) and tip her well!!! You won't regret it!! Absolutely 5 star massage at deep discount price! I asked for "deep tissue" and Lily, my masseuse, hit the spot(s). She also checked in and could have gone harder or softer if requested. This place is truly excellent for the price. Julia, in particular, is an exceptional masseuse who is trained in both eastern and western massage, I always come out feeling more fluid and relaxed. This place is almost five stars, however, the lack of sound proofing/music in the room really detracts from the experience. There is beautiful music in the foyer that you can hear from the rooms, but then you can also hear; phones ringing, customers coming in, people walking down the corridor, toilets flushing, all while you are getting an excellent massage. Maybe other people are better at filtering that out but I can't. . Please fix this Moon Spa! You are so close to being perfect! Just get some Bluetooth speakers in the rooms, and pipe in that lovely Guzheng instrument (had to looked up). Lastly, and this is a much smaller problem, but they could use a mirror in each room. Maybe other people's hair behaves better, but I always come out looking like I was base jumping down a wind tunnel. read more
