When it came to the payment she got upset with the amount I tipped and I didn't understand her too well, but it sounded like she was demanding a $30 tip I told her I only had what I had given her and she seemed annoyed. Definitely would have given it a 5 star, however the lady that was massaging me yesterday 3/17 around 12pm (unfortunately didn't catch her Name), she kept having to be interrupted to answer the business incoming phone calls, holding the phone in one hand while she was working on my back, the one hour Massage sesh. It felt like it deducted minutes, but not off the bill! Couples massage was like $60 each person, plus TAX came out to $124. (Still affordable for sure) The only other con would be the facility didn't play Relaxing or soothing music while in the Room/Session, so you could literally hear everyone breathing. Having Spa music would have helped me relax, and although the lady massaged me just OK, it could've been better. She kept like stretching my Muscles around and it could've been a much more pleasant experience. The lady in the front was on a phone call talking so loud on the phone I couldn't relax. No music and the lights on full. Then at the end they both demanded I tip for it. Got a 30min foot message with a friend. Before we were attended we had to wait a bit, they seemed busy, but I'm not sure if they just weren't attentive. While we were waiting, another customer was being begged for a tip, which was uncomfortable. There's a huge language barrier so not sure what the issue was with the tip. That set the mood for the rest of the message, so I tipped 25% just so I didn't have to deal with it (wouldn't do that much). Message was good, wasn't too sure what to expect. I had heard there was a back message component but there wasn't (just a light tap) Hard with the language barrier to follow instructions. I think I'd go again, but still not sure. He told them a 30 minute massage is $40 like they said, they ended up saying they added a tip. $60 is a 60 minute massage for those who don't know. They were demanding a tip and even ended up using their phone to translate the tip. My husband was not even satisfied with the massage so it made it even more uncomfortable they were demanding a $22 tip. I came to check the reviews later, and ran into the guys review who was waiting in line & over heard the conversation and even ended up feeling uncomfortable himself. Going to a reflexology place is always an adventure. One thing you can pretty much guarantee is that you will get massaged by someone that has no training whatsoever. That is definitely the case here. I felt like a record the DJ was spinning. Then at the end I was charged $10 more when I was very specific about what service I wanted. To top it off, she waits till the end to tell me the credit card machine is down. I don't know about you but I'm not too keen on running errands (like going to the bank) after a massage. So I go to the bank and she received a much smaller tip due to the inconvenience, overcharge (integrity issue duh), and downright lackluster massage. read more

I don't go to strip mall massage places with high expectations but having once been a broke post college student with a back that was out, I've had an open mind & tried a few. I wanted a more spa like experience this weekend but I was calling the morning of and had no luck. I gave this place a shot because it had "deep tissue" massage listed Personally I am not a big fan of Thai massage (my husband likes it) which these places frequently offer exclusively. Seeing deep tissue was a big win & won me over to give it a try. I had a fab massage with CiCi all things considered. She checked in with me w/r to pressure, she fit me in when I was free during my schedule, there was no slapping, just the pounded fists in the palm which I don't mind, and she asked for permission to touch/massage my face & scalp (no, yes, thank you). She incorporated hot stone massage which was fantastic and foot massage. She also didn't spend an inordinate amount of time on my IT band, a real pet peeve of mine. It was 30 minute foot, 30 minute full body. Extremely professional throughout. The walls are thin, yes but I feel like at these places it's kind of a given. read more

My husband and I are visiting from out of state and he saw the ad for Moon Spa in the local free paper. He called and they had an opening for 2 in the next hour. Typically I'd be a little leery of going to a massage place that puts ads in free local papers thinking they have a "side business" going on but this place was great ! For $60 they do a medium pressure massage with warm oil, hot stones and steam towels. I will admit they concentrate too much on your back area and could balance it out more on the legs, arms and feet. In SLC you can't get anything like that for under $90 and they are all booked up for at least a month. HIghly recommended this place. read more

I thought I'd take advantage of Moon Spa's $40/hr before-noon-special because I felt a migraine coming on. While I am sure the female masseuse intended her best, I just wasn't feeling it. Her motions over my back, shoulders & upper neck irritated more than they soothed. She spent 1/2 the hour on my back when I would have liked more foot time, after all, Chinese masseuses have a reputation for being excellent at foot reflexology. There actually was no reflexology going on here at all. And certainly no acupressure. Two things most enjoyable about Chinese massage. Unfortunately, I will not return & will not purchase any more gift certificates from here either. A bit disappointing! read more

I heard that this place offered an 60 minute full-body massage for only $40 if you go in before noon, so I called the day before to see if they had any availability for the next morning. When I came in, I was greeted by a kind woman at the front and rushed back to a room. It wasn't until I was on the massage table that I realized that I didn't get the chance to say which massage I wanted or even for how long. I was given money for my birthday to pay for the massage, so I mentally prepared myself to pay for the most expensive option, but I didn't really like being put in that position. I ended up paying $55 (without the tip) for an hour-long massage. The massage itself was great, although if you have any places on your body that are off limits you should probably tell them beforehand because you won't get asked. In any case, I would definitely recommend this place for a cheap, quality massage. Just don't make the mistake I did and assume they'll ask what you want. read more

Hands down best massage I've ever had. The lady also didn't talk while she was massaging me which was nice! I've gone to other places where all they do is chat and it's not really a place where I want to make conversation. So that was a plus. I felt very relaxed. She took the time to massage my head, face, hands, legs, and feet. The work she did on my back was amazing. I made the mistake of not tipping enough (Probably bc I was in an amazing spacey trance after I was done to be honest). I felt bad after I handed her he receipt and was thinking "oh man, maybe I should tip more". Well, she didn't miss a beat asking for me to tip more, which is kinda funny haha. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our massages at Moon Spa considering that it was only $40 per person (we went before noon) and located in a plaza next to car dealerships. The massage: The ladies worked on us for the full hour - none of that massage you for half an hour and then leave something on you for half an hour nonsense. They also used adequate strength (I hate weak massages) and found my knots. The hot stones they used to massage us for a couple of minutes felt very nice! The experience: My husband and I were put in a couples room so we were able to stay together. I liked how the two massage therapists did not talk to each other or to us during the massages so I was able to focus on the massage and relax. The room was clean, private, and quiet. My only complaint is that the room got a bit cold and they had only put one thin sheet over us. Don't walk in expecting this to be a fancy pampering spa experience with fuzzy bathrobes and expensive water bottles and you'll have a good experience. read more

So happy that my bf and I went here over the weekend! I was desperate need of a deep tissue massage, and I have heard great things about Moon Spa! Right away, Lucy asked me if I preferred hard or medium pressure, and she asked me if the pressure was okay. She knew exactly what she was doing when it came to the different muscle groups. My right side is SO much worse that my left, and she took the time to try to get out the knots in my shoulder and under my shoulder blade. We did the full hour, full body, couple massage. I called a couple hours before we wanted to come in, and they were able to accommodate us, and put us in the private couple room. Similar to other comments about looking for a fancy spa -- this is not the place. Looking for a great full body massage, with people who know what they're doing? LOOK NO FURTHER THAN MOON SPA! Great prices, clean room, and I will definitely be coming back. My boyfriend can't wait to come back for foot reflexology. I'll update this review if/when we try different services! Came here during a little getaway since the spa at our hotel was all booked up. It was a very nice surprise, this visit. These ladies know what they're doing. I work a very labor intensive job and had built up a lot of tension and knots in my upper back and shoulders. The older woman was AMAZING at obliterating the majority of my back/shoulder pain. She showed no mercy, and I loved it lol. I was quite sore the day after but I felt great! When I go to a massage place, I really want them to tackle those knots and she really delivered. I have had many massages, many very expensive massages!...These ladies were relentless working on the knots in my upper back and neck. Took their time, massaged from the top of your head, ears, nose, cheek bones and chin....all the way to the bottom of feet and toes, rubbed out my sore legs from running. DO NOT GO HERE!!! If i could give them 0 stars i would! Where do i start? I came here with my friends after reading all the good reviews on yelp. I was initially very excited about this place because their prices are very reasonable.. I WAS WRONG!!!!! My masseuse left me on the massage table at least 5 times to answer the door or answer the phone. She also focuses only on my back for 40 minutes doing the same repetitive motion. She didn't even massage my back! She rubbed it and tapped it like she was trying to burp a baby? After so long of her doing the same motion on my back it started to be uncomfortable and no longer felt good. After my poorly done massage came to an end it was time to pay. I gave her $48.. (3 for a tip) which i thought was was very generous considering it was one of the WORST massages i have ever had. When i gave her the 3 dollar tip she looked at me and told me that i needed to give five dollars and what i gave wasn't enough!!!! I was SHOCKED! I told her that i didn't have any more money and that's all i could give and she said "this is not enough you can pay with a credit card". We went back and forth about how i didn't have enough money to give her 5 (even though i did but she did NOT deserve it) she kept insisting i give her a bigger tip. I finally told her that she was very rude and she was lucky i was tipping her at all. We came in for the one hour couples massage and about five minutes in we knew we wanted an additional hour. They extended our massages and didn't skimp on time. This place is truly excellent for the price. Julia, in particular, is an exceptional masseuse who is trained in both eastern and western massage, I always come out feeling more fluid and relaxed. This place is almost five stars, however, the lack of sound proofing/music in the room really detracts from the experience. There is beautiful music in the foyer that you can hear from the rooms, but then you can also hear; phones ringing, customers coming in, people walking down the corridor, toilets flushing, all while you are getting an excellent massage. Maybe other people are better at filtering that out but I can't. . Please fix this Moon Spa! You are so close to being perfect! Just get some Bluetooth speakers in the rooms, and pipe in that lovely Guzheng instrument (had to looked up). Lastly, and this is a much smaller problem, but they could use a mirror in each room. Maybe other people's hair behaves better, but I always come out looking like I was base jumping down a wind tunnel. read more
